The Sacramento Kings swept the contending Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night with a 111-99 victory at the American Airlines Center.

While the Kings are 12th in the Western Conference and face an uphill battle to reach the 10th seed to qualify for the play-in tournament, they had no trouble defeating the Mavericks in all three games within a 15-day span.

“All three of the games came during a stretch when we were playing pretty well from the standpoint of togetherness and rebounding and our defense was solid tonight,” Kings coach Luke Walton said. “It takes that type of effort to give yourself a chance to win.”

Buddy Hield scored 27 points and Marvin Bagley III got 23 points and nine rebounds. Together, Hield and Bagley had 13 points in a 15-3 run that gave Sacramento a 87-70 lead in the third quarter.

Dallas got within six points in the last two minutes of the game. Hield beat the shot clock with a triple to put the Kings up 106-97. Hield was 6 of 10 from the three-point line and Sacramento was 11 of 28.

The Kings never trailed on Sunday or in the second matchup in Dallas, starting both with an 8-0 lead. The Mavericks evened the score several times but were unable to pull ahead. Sacramento won the first game 121-107 in Dallas and trailed for only 42 seconds.

Sacramento suffered another injury on Sunday as rookie Tyrese Halliburton suffered an injury to his left knee and left the game in the arid quarter. The Kings are missing De’Aaron Fox due to coronavirus protocols and Harrison Barnes due to a left thigh injury, both of them starters.

The Kings continue to their third game in a four-game road trip on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Tauchman drives in four in Giants win 7-1

San Francisco Giants Mike Tauchman (right) rounds third base and is greeted by third base coach Ron Wotus (23) after hitting a third inning three run homer at Petco Park in San Diego against the San Diego Padres on Sun May 2, 2021 (AP News photo)

By Jeremy Kahn

Mike Tauchman did not want to see the San Francisco Giants get swept by their division rival before heading to another division rival to end the road trip.

Tauchman hit a three-run home run in the top of the third inning, giving the Giants the lead for good and the Giants would go on to defeat the San Diego Padres 7-1 at Petco Park.

Tommy La Stella got the rally started, as he hit a single that scored Curt Casali and sent starting pitcher Kevin Gausman up to second base.

Immediately following the La Stella single, Tauchman launched his first home run as a member of the Giants that gave them the lead for good.

Gausman continues to pitch well for his new team, as he went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, walking just one and striking out six on his way to his second win of the season without a loss.

Joe Musgrove, who just pitched the Padres first no-hitter in their 52-year history was roughed by the Giants, as he went five innings, allowing six runs (five earned), scattering four hits, walking two and striking out six, as his record fell to 2-3 on the season.

La Stella broke the game open in the top of the fifth inning, he tripled to center field for his second run batted in of the afternoon.

Wilmer Flores then got in on the RBI party, as he grounded out to Fernando Tatis, Jr., that scored La Stella from third base.

Tauchman added his fourth RBI of the afternoon in the top of the ninth inning, as he walked with the bases loaded to score Steven Duggar from third base.

Tatis, Jr., got the Padres on the board in the bottom of the first inning, as he hit a solo home run off of Gausman that gave the Padres a quick 1-0 lead. It was the eighth home run of the season for Tatis, Jr.

Casali walked to lead off the third inning, then Gausman reached on a sacrifice bunt and reached, when Musgrove was unable to field the ball properly for an error. La Stella then singled to tie up the game, and then Tauchman gave the Giants the lead for good with one swing of the bat.

Gausman singled in the top of the fifth inning, and then scored when La Stella tripled to left field to give the Giants a three-run lead.

After Gausman threw 95 pitches thru six innings, his afternoon was done and Gabe Kapler turned the game over to the bullpen.

The trio of Caleb Baragar, Tyler Rogers and Camilo Doval went the final three innings, allowing two hits and striking out three and the Giants salvaged the finale of the series and will head to Colorado with a half-game lead in the National League West over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

NOTES: With the win, the Giants avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season and also avoided being swept as well.

The Giants win at Petco Park, coupled with the Milwaukee Brewers loss to the Dodgers at American Family Field, the Giants and Brewers are tied for the best record in the National League.

UP NEXT: Aaron Sanchez opens up the three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Monday, while the Rockies will send German Marquez to the mound. Thus far this season, the Giants are 5-1 versus the Rockies and have outscored them 35-14 in the six games.

Kentucky Derby: Baffert couldn’t believe his eyes on Madina Spirit win

Its a photo finish for Madina Spirit at the Kentucky Derby at Church Downs on Sat May 1, 2021 (AP News photo)

By Jessica Kwong

Medina Spirit made history at the 147th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday with an upset that gave trainer Bob Baffert his record seventh win in “The Run for the Roses.”

The yearling only had the sixth best odds in the race at 12-1 but took an early lead. Essential Quality, the favorite at 3-1 odds, was well off the lead early but started closing in at the half-mile mark, along with Hot Rod Charlie with odds at 5-1. Essential Quality started making the move from fifth at the three-quarter mile mark, but Medina Spirit maintained the lead. Medina Spirit also held off a late charge from Mandaloun, who finished in second place followed by Hot Rod Charlie.

Medina Spirit crossed the finish line at 2:01:02, with jockey John Velazquez. His victory was a shock to his trainer.

“I knew he was training well, but I’m really, really surprised,” Baffert said. “When I saw him on the easy lead, I kept waiting for these horses to come at him, but Johnny had him in a perfect spot. If you have him on the lead, he’ll fight.”

Baffert is the only trainer with seven Kentucky Derby wins.

Medina Spirit also boosted Velazquez’s career as one of the best jockeys in the sport. His name may sound familiar, as he won the 2020 race in September riding Authentic. Velazquez has won four Kentucky Derbys and is one of only seven jockeys to win consecutive ones.

“I never thought in my wildest dreams I’d win four Derbys,” Velazquez said. “I never look at the numbers … I just want to come and do my job.”

The $3 million purse is distributed among the top five finishers. Medina Spirit earned $1.86 million, Mandaloun got $600,000, Hot Rod Charlie received $300,000 and Essential Quality took $100,000.

Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, typically draws more than 150,000 people for the race that is part of the Triple Crown. Due to the pandemic, the attendance this year was just 51,838. Last year, the race was run without spectators.

Here’s the Kentucky Derby 2021 finish order:

1 – Medina Spirit

2 – Mandaloun

3 – Hot Rod Charlie

4 – Essential Quality

5 – O Besos

Earthquakes cruise past DC United in 4-1 win

The San Jose Earthquakes Jackson Yueill is the Man of the Match after the Quakes defeated the DC United at Pay Pal Park in Washington DC on Sat May 1, 2021 (@SJEarthquakes photo)

by Marko Ukalovic

SAN JOSE, Calif–The San Jose Earthquakes scored three goals in the first half en route to a dominating 4-1 victory over DC United on Saturday evening at Pay Pal Park.

San Jose has won two games in a row after dropping its opening match to Houston and are undefeated at home after two games. DC United has lost two in a row after winning its opener against New York City FC.

The Quakes (2-1-0) drew first blood in the opening minute of the match. Cade Cowell received a long ball along the left side. He dribbled out to the middle of the pitch before finding Javier Eduardo López, affectionally known as Chofis. The Mexican national played the ball with one touch before bending in a left footed shot into the lower left corner of the net past DC United goalie Chris Seitz for his first career MLS goal.

Chofis came to the Quakes on loan from Chivas Guadalajara back on January 20th. His combo of speed and skill is what head coach Matias Almedya has been looking for to anchor his midfield. Chofis drew a yellow card on DC United’s Tony Alvaro in the 18th minute after slipping past him with the ball along the right sideline forcing Alvaro to trip him up.

The Quakes doubled its lead in the 26th minute when Cristian Espinoza sent a deep ball down the right sideline over to Cowell that sprung a fast break. The sophomore sensation outraced Frédéric Brillant to the ball and dribbled in before he drilled a right footed shot rom the right side of the box to the bottom right corner of the net past Seitz for his second goal of the season.

Cowell has scored and goal an assist in back-to-back games for San Jose. He became the sixth youngest player in MLS history to achieve that feat last week against FC Dallas.

DC United (1-2-0) cut the lead in half at the 31st minute off a set piece. Edison Flores centered a corner kick out to Brendan Hines-Ike who headed the ball back into the middle of the box. Quakes goalie JT Marcinkowski batted the ball away but Yamil Asad tapped it over to Alvaro, who slammed home the ball into the upper right corner for his first goal of the season.

San Jose kept the pressure on in the last 13 minutes of the first half. Seitz made a tough save on a shot by Paul Marie in the 34th minute. Espinoza had a great scoring chance in the 42nd minute when he dribbled around Seitz and looked to put the ball into an empty net. However, Moses Nyeman came back and swept away the ball for a corner kick,

In that ensuring corner for San Jose, Carlos Fierro centered a ball from the right that deflected off of the foot of Tanner Beason inside the box. The ball popped up high into the air where Jackson Yueill falling down, blasted the ball out of the air into the center of the net for his first goal of the season in the 43rd minute.

Yueill was the acting captain for San Jose during the match as Chris Wondolowski served a one-game suspension for receiving a red card last week against FC Dallas.

San Jose had six shots on goal compared to four for DC United in the first half. They also won the possession battle 55%-45%.

DC United came out in the second half and controlled the majority of play. Some sloppy passing by San Jose in the beginning led to four scoring chances in the first 22 minutes for the visiting team.

A bad turnover by Marcinkowski just outside the box in the 84th minute led to an open net opportunity for Erik Sorga from the center of the box but Florian Jungwirth chased down the ball down and kept it from crossing the goal line as he cleared it away from danger.

The Quakes put the game away a minute later after Jungwirth’s block. Cowell received the ball down the right wing and dribbled inside the box where he chipped a cross over to Yueill who headed the ball off of Seitz into the back of the net for his second goal of the match in the 85th minute.

Cowell finished the match with three points (G, 2A) and has five points overall in his past two games.

Marcinkowski finished the evening making six saves on seven shots to earn the victory. Seitz made five saves on nine shots in the losing effort.

GAME NOTES: San Jose had four corner kicks. DC United had five.

Marie, Chofis and Eric Remedi received yellow cards for San Jose. Nyeman also received a yellow card for DC United.

UP NEXT: The Earthquakes head out on the road to take on Real Salt Lake on Friday 5/7 at 6:30pm at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Raiders Focus On Defensive Picks As Draft Concludes; No.143 Safety Gillespie from Missouri join Silver and Black

Raiders Focus On Defensive Picks As Draft Concludes

By Barbara Mason

So we made it to Day Three of the NFL draft. Hundreds of players lives have changed for the better over these three days and now it is up to each one of them to build on this incredible opportunity.

The Las Vegas Raiders had a very nice Day Two and at pick No. 143 on Day Three they chose a Safety Tyree Gillespie. They had to trade up to get this guy and more help in their secondary. They traded No. 162 and 200 overall to the New York Jets to get that pick and acquire Gillespie. This guy out of Missouri is fast and physical. Among his many strengths he takes good angles on tackles and is adept at stopping the run.

The Raiders chose at No. 167 in round five CB Nate Hobbs out of Illinois. He has everything needed to help the Las Vegas defense and it’s just a matter of time before we see him out on the field.

So after six picks for the Raiders it was defense, defense and more defense for Las Vegas. Would they finish defense with their final pick or would they pick up some more help on the offensive side of the ball.

So the Raiders chose their second offensive player in the draft. They picked at No. 237 C Jimmy Morrissey out of Pittsburgh.

So the picks are in: all 259 of them. Now the fun begins. The signings and most of all, the insanely hard work. Getting picked is one thing, but proving yourself is an entirely different matter. We will just have to wait until the pre-season followed by the regular season to see just how these guys are going to help the Las Vegas Raiders realize a winning season.

A’s drop four out of last five games; Lose to O’s 8-4

Baltimore 8 -10 – 0

Oakland 4 – 8. – 2

By Lewis Rubman

May 1, 2021

OAKLAND–The A’s started the season by losing seven straight games. They followed their first win by losing one more game and then going another 13 without a single defeat, giving them a record of 14-8. They ended the month at 16-11, a winning percentage of .593.

This represents an almost exact regression to the norm, since their totals for the last three seasons, including the truncated 2020 campaign, were 230-157, which comes to .594. So it would be reasonable to anticipate that we’ll see a season of ups and downs like those of the month we’ve just endured, although the swings might not be as dramatic as what we’ve seen so far. In other words, fasten your seat belts, folks, we’re in for a bumpy ride.

In this afternoon’s contest, Oakland didn’t have to contend with an opponent on the mound as intimidating as John Means, who almost completely mastered them last night. Instead they faced the veteran right hander Matt Harvey, making the 150th start of a big league career that has had its ups and downs. Recently, it’s taken a modest upturn.

His penultimate start resulted in his first win since July 13, 2019, when he still toiled for the LA Angels. His most recent start, one earned run in six innings against the Yankees, was, as the Orioles’ game notes point out, his first quality start since April 28, 2019 and marked the first time since July 13, 2018 that he’d notched consecutive wins.

Oakland countered with Jesús Luzardo, who, at 1-2, 5.40, has been tantalizing A’s fans with occasional displays of his undoubted, but inconsistently displayed, talent.

Both pitchers got through their first two frames with little difficulty. Then disaster struck the home town crew.

The top of the third was a travesty. The Orioles did a little bit to help their cause, but most of their runs were gifts from the A’s. Here’s a brief summary of the action:

D.J. Steward hit a bouncing ball wide of first that bounced off Seth Brown’s glove for an error.

Ramón Urías’s single sent Stewart to third.

Luzardo walked Cedric Mullins to load the bases with nobody out.

Austin Hayes singled to left, plating Steward and Urías. Hays advanced to second on the hit and to third on Matt Chapman’s (of all people!) errant relay throw to third.

Trey Mancini got a Texas League single that Elvis Andrus couldn’t catch up with in short left field, driving in Hays.

Maikel Franco singled to left, moving Mancini up a base.

Mancini and Franco moved up another notch on a wild pitch.

Pedro Severino fouled out to the catcher, Aramis García.

Mancini scored on Ryan Mountcastle’s sac fly to right. Franco moved on to third.

Franco scoredon another wild pitch.

Finally, Freddy Galvis flew out to center.

That was all Luzardo would pitch. The line for his three inning stint was six runs, evenly divided between earned and unearned, on five hits, two walks, and two wild pitches. He struck out two, and, of the 64 pitches he threw, 34 were strikes. He eventually was charged with the loss, his third against a lone win,. His ERA now stands at 5.79.

Luzardo was replaced by Deolis Guerra, who pitched two innings, allowing nothing but one walk before J.B. Windelken took his place to pitch the sixth.

Windelken wasn’t as effective as his predecesor. J.B. allowed a single to Freddy Galvis, after which D.J. Stewart deposited an 84 mph change up over the right field fence, 341 feet from home plate.

Down 8-0 with two out in the sixth, Oakland made a comeback of sorts, led by the two players who had committed costly errors in the fatidic third. Chapman singled to right and scored on Brown’s double to the same field, After Cole Sulser relived Harvey, Tony Kemp brought Brown home with the A’s second tally.

Harvey’s line ended up at two runs, both earned, on four hits and a walk in 5-2/3 innings of work. He delivered 90 pitches, 54 for strikes. He ended up getting the win, making him 3-1, 4.06 for the season.

Mark Canha continued the comeback, leading off the home seventh with his fourth home run of the season, this one off a 92 mph four seamer that he drove into the left field seats, just to the right of the foul pole. After Sulser walked Jeff Lowrie and struck out Laureano for the first out, the southpaw Tanner Scott was brought in to face Oakland’s DH, fellow lefty Mitch Moreland. Scott got both Moreland and Chapman out to preserve Baltimore’s 8-3 lead. Sulser’s 2/3 of an inning, in which he gave up a walk, a hit, and a run on 21 pitches, still left him with an enviable ERA of 1.08.

Oakland used two other relievers. Reymin Guduan and Sergio Romo threw a scoreless eighth and ninth, respectively, with Romo retiring the side in order. Guduan required a pitcher’s best friend after giving up a lead off single.

Laureano gave the A’s a last hurrah by blasting a 420 foot two out homer to left center in the bottom of the ninth, Too little, too late, but nice any way, and it made the final score look almost respectable.

The A’s will try to salvage a win out of this series when they send Sean Manaea (3-1, 2.83) against the Orioles and Bruce Zimmermann (1-3, 5.33) in a 1:07 battle of left handers.

Curry’s big third quarter sinks Rockets 113-87

The Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry (30) is jubilant after scoring a three point shot against the Houston Rockets Armoni Brooks (7) during Sat May 1, 2021 game in Houston (Houston Chronicle photo)

By Jerry Feitelberg

The Golden State Warriors (32-32) faced the downtrodden Houston Rockets (16-48) at the Toyota Center in Houston Saturday night. The Rockets, without their star John Wall, beat the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday night behind Kevin Porter’s outstanding performance. Porter, who is 20-years-old knocked down 50 points, leading Houston to victory. The Rockets’ management discharged their head coach, Muke D’Antoni, at the end of last season. The Rockets traded Russell Westbrook to the Washinton Wizards, and James Harden went to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Rockets have struggled all season long, and it appears they will be one of the three teams with the worst record in the NBA. Having lost two in a row, the Warriors needed to take advantage of the Rockets to stay in the race for a ninth or tenth spot in the Western Conference standings. Things didn’t go well in the first half of the game. The Rockets found a way to contain Stephen Curry. The Warriors got their act together in the third quarter and were able to win easily 113-87.

The Warriors’ offense in the first two quarters left a lot to the imagination. Curry made two threes in ten tries. The Rockets held him to seven points. The Rockets finished the first quarter with a two-point lead 24-22. The Rockets went on a 9-3 run to start the second quarter to lead 33-25. Curry returned with about six minutes left in the period. Houston kept answering every Warrior basket. The Rockets led at halftime 55-49.

The third quarter was a different story. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr must have read the riot act to his team during the halftime break. They did not play well against the Dallas Mavericks, and they folded against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the fourth quarter Thursday night.

They could not afford to lose to Houston. Kerr’s words must have resonated with the Warriors as they came out smoking to start the third quarter. Golden State went on a 28-4 run to start play in the period. At one point, they scored 24 unanswered points. Curry was on fire. He scored 23 points in his 12 minutes on the floor. He connected on five threes in seven tries. The Warriors outscored the Rockets 39-12 in the quarter to lead 87-67.

The Warriors had Curry and Draymond Green on the bench for the entire fourth quarter. Andrew Wiggins, Mychal Mulder, and Jordan Poole provided the offense as the Warriors cruised to victory 113-87

Game Notes and Stats: With the win, the Warriors are 32-32 for the year. They have two more road games left for the year. They will play both against the New Orleans Pelicans. They lead the Pelicans by 3 1/2 games for the final playoff spot. The first game with New Orleans will be Monday night. The Warriors play the last six games of the season at the Chase Center.

The Warriors used eight players again for the second game in a row. Kelly Oubre, Jr. was out with a wrist problem. Damion Lee is still on Covid-19 protocol, and Eric Paschall missed another game due to a hip flexor. Paschall is improving and will be back soon, possibly next week.

Curry had another 30-point game. He had 30 points, six rebounds, and five assists. He was nine-for-23 from the floor and 7-fo-17 from downtown. Andrew Wiggins continued his excellent play on both ends of the court. Wiggins poured in 20 points.

He pulled down two rebounds and had two assists. Mychal Mulder and Jordan Poole each had 17 points. Mulder connected on five threes. Draymond Green nearly had a triple-double. Green scored nine points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and recorded eight assists.

As a team, the Warriors shot 46% from the floor. They made 18 threes in 46 attempts. They moved the ball well, especially in the second half, with 32 assists on 39 made field goals. They had ten steals and eight blocks on defense. They forced 18 Rockets turnover that resulted in 20 points for the Warriors.

The Warriors meet the Pelicans in New Orleans Monday Night. The game will start at 4:30 pm.

Machado hits a three-run home run to lead the Padres to victory 6-2

San Diego Padres Manny Machado gives thanks to the Almighty after hitting a three run home run against the San Francisco Giants in the first inning at Petco Park in San Diego on Sat May 1, 2021 (AP News photo)

By Jeremy Kahn

Manny Machado came up with the biggest hit of the night for the San Diego Padres, and it was able to stick.

Machado hit a three-run home run off of Anthony DeSclafani in the bottom of the first inning, as the Padres defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-2 at Petco Park.

The Machado home run held up, as Blake Snell went five innings, two runs (one earned), walking three and striking out six on his way to his first win as a member of the Padres.

Trent Grisham led off the bottom of the first inning with a single and then Fernando Tatis, Jr., before Machado launched a three-run home run into the left-center field seats and the Padres never looked back.

After that nightmarish first inning, DeSclafani did not allow a run, gave up a hit, walked one and struck out three in his final five innings of work.

Overall, DeSclafani went six innings, allowing three runs on three hits, walking two and striking out three and he lost for the first time as a member of the Giants.

Mauricio Dubon got the Giants on the board in the top of the fifth inning, as he hit a solo home run to lead off the inning. It was the first home run of the season for Dubon, who also picked up his seventh run batted in of the season.

Darin Ruf cut the Padres down to one run, as he singled off of Snell to score DeSclafani, who reached on a fielding error by Snell. That would be as close as the Giants would get on the evening.

Jurickson Profar put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth inning, as he a pinch-hit home run off of Zack Littell.

Jake Cronenworth added on some insurance, as he hit a two-run single off of Jose Alvarez that scored Tatis, Jr., and Eric Hosmer.

NOTES: Through 27 games, the Giants have made only seven errors, the fewest errors of any team in major league baseball.

UP NEXT: Kevin Gausman looks to stop the bleeding on Sunday, as he takes the Petco Park mound, as the Giants look to avert the sweep.

Silver Knights split series with 4-0 shutout win over Barracuda

Tough game for the San Jose Barracuda taking a one goal loss to the Henderson Silver Knights at SAP Center in San Jose on Sat May 1, 2021 (@sjbarracua photo)

by Marko Ukalovic

SAN JOSE, Calif–Less than 24 hours after giving up seven goals, including a franchise worst five power play goals, the Henderson Silver Knights exacted revenge on the San Jose Barracuda in a 4-0 shutout victory on Saturday evening at SAP Center.

Henderson snapped its two game losing streak as they split the two-game series. With the loss, San Jose had its three-game winning streak also snapped.

It was a complete 180 for the ‘Cuda after setting a few franchise scoring marks the night before against its Pacific Division rival. San Jose matched a franchise low with just 16 shots on net.

Oscar Dansk had a relatively easy night as he stopped all 16 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season and seventh of his career.

Henderson (22-12-0-0) drew first blood on a five-on-three power play early in the first period. The Silver Knights only needed 20 second during the two-man advantage to break the seal. Danny O’Regan fed a pass over to Jack Dugan who fired a one-timer top-shelf past ‘Cuda goalie Sam Harvey for his first goal of the period and his seventh of the season at the 4:36 mark.

The Silver Knights doubled its lead five minutes later. Paul Cotter picked up the puck at center ice. He raced in from the left side on a two-on-two rush. Cotter performed a toe-drag before snapping a wrist shot past Harvey, who was screened by Jonas Rondbjerg, for his sixth goal of the season at the 9:30 mark.

Dugan gave the Silver Knights a 3-0 lead late in the period with his second goal of the opening 20 minutes. Brayden Pachal hit Dugan with a home run pass at the blueline. Dugan than skated in on a breakaway and made a fore-hand to backhand move as he slipped the puck past Harvey for his eighth goal of the season at the 14:39 mark.

San Jose (15-12-4-2) was dominated by Henderson on the shot clock 16-6 after the first period.

Henderson scored its fourth unanswered goal late in the second period. Lucan Elvenes found Reid Duke alone at the Barraucuda blueline. Duke raced in all alone and shot a quick wrister through the five-hole of Harvey for his fourth goal of the season at the 14:35 mark.

Duke ended a nine-game goal less draught.

Henderson out shot San Jose 11-5 in the middle frame.

Things became chippy in the scoreless third period as frustration set in for San Jose as the ‘Cuda engaged in three fights. Sasha Chmelevski and Peter DeLiberatore went it at the 3:53 mark. Steen Pasichnuk and Duke danced the tango at the 8:17 mark. Then Brinson Pasichnuk and Jermiane Loewen were both given game misconduct penalties after they scrapped with each other at the 11:13 mark.

Harvey made 35 saves on 39 shots in the losing effort.

GAME NOTES: San Jose was 0-for-4 on the power play. Henderson went 1-for-5.

The Three Stars of the Game were: 1) Dugan 2) O’Regan 3) Ryan Murphy

UP NEXT: The Barracuda close out its regular season home schedule as they host the Bakersfield Condors on Monday 5/3 at 4:00pm at Solar4Amerca Ice.
