San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan stands on the sidelines at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Thursday Night Football Nov 5th against the Green Bay Packers (AP News photo)

On the 49ers podcast with J Hawkes:

#1 The 49ers continue to suffer the injury bug. This is what hampered them during their loses in Seattle Nov 1st and against Green Bay Nov 5th.

#2 The week of Nov 1st was a cruel week not just for injuries but San Francisco had a short turnaround after losing to the Seahawks on Nov 1st and the hosted the Green Bay Packers four days later on Thursday Night Football Nov 5th and lost that one as well.

#3 With staring quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo out and Nick Mullens under center now how much pressure has things been on Mullens in those last two games.

#4 Also this week head coach Kyle Shanahan said the status for the offensive line players running back Raheem Mostert (ankle), Tevin Coleman (knee), both will not play in New Orleans on Sunday. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel status is unknown and wide receiver Trent Taylor (back) didn’t practice.

#5 Joe, set it up for us the 49ers are nine point underdogs going into Sunday’s game and the Saints absolutely clobbered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sun Nov 8th 38-3 holding Bucs quarterback Tom Brady to 209 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions. How do you see this game Sunday?

Headline Sports with Jessica Kwong podcast: NFL is trying their best to enforce wearing masks but it’s not working; Will Morris stay on as Falcons head coach?; plus more

Raheem Morris the interim head coach at the Atlanta Falcons has turned the team around winning three of their last four games after going 0-5 the question will he get noticed after many black coaches have been turned down for head coaching jobs in the NFL? (file photo from the Atlanta Falcons)

On Headline Sports with Jessica:

#1 Another high profile name landed on the Covid 19 list for this week when Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tested positive on Tuesday. The NFL says they’ve done their very best warning players about wearing masks which they have not.

#2 The Dallas Cowboys and the Steelers were involved in a post game scrum exchanging pleasantries after last Sundays’ game and now it was reported that four players on the Steelers including Roethlisberger have Covid 19.

#3 Atlanta Falcons (3-6) head coach Raheem Morris inherited the job after former head coach Dan Quinn was fired after the Falcons started the season at 0-5. After taking over the team Morris won two straight games before losing last Sunday. Morris was the former defensive coordinator before taking over as head coach and there is worry that Morris who is a black head coach might not get a second chance in the NFL if he doesn’t turn the Falcons around for the rest of this season. Second chances for black head coaches in the NFL are rare.

#4 Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers has questioned whether or not the NFL is really following Covid 19 protocols based on the science. One issue that was brought up is up can dap it up after a game with teammates and opponents but you can’t sit down and have lunch with them.

#5 The Las Vegas Raiders (5-3) after their latest victory against the Los Angeles Chargers in a narrow close game are vying for their third straight win as they host the Denver Broncos (3-5) on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium a win here could further push the Raiders hopes towards a their post season dreams.

Stanford Cardinal Football podcast with Jerry Feiteltberg: Mills and Weddington being checked if they are Covid 19 free

Stanford quarterback David Mills (15) drops back to look for a receiver during the Big Game last season against the Cal Bears on Nov 23, 2019 at Stanford Stadium (file photo from mercurynews.com)

On the Cardinal podcast with Jerry F:

#1 Jerry how big was it that Stanford’s quarterback David Mills and wide receiver Connor Weddington both missed opening week in Oregon against the Ducks?

#2 The Cardinals’ defensive end Trey LaBounty also was missing from action last Saturday as he also was positive for Covid-19. The Cardinal lost quite handedly 35-14 and missing LaBounty and the defense was a big part of that loss.

#3 As of Tuesday Stanford head coach David Shaw indicated that a fourth unnamed player has also contracted Covid. As of Wednesday the Cardinal who host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday have not indicated if the game would be postponed as of yet.

#4 Shaw also said he has no idea of the timeline when the players would be back but at midweek knows that some decisions have to be made soon and the Cardinal are trying to avoid postponing the game on Saturday.

#5 Last week the Cardinal had Jack West starting who threw 154 yards and third stringer Tanner Mckee who threw for 62 yards neither threw for a touchdown in the loss. The Buffaloes got by the UCLA Bruins in a shootout 48-42 in their last game last Saturday the Buffaloes can provide a lot of offense. Jerry set this game up for us.

San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints preivew: Not making playoffs just got out of 49ers control

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens who threw for 291 yards, one touchdown, and one interception will get the start on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome (file photo from draftkingsnation.com)

By Jeremiah Salmonson

The rest of the season is going to feel strange for the 49ers. It may be the understatement of the year to say the 49ers season has not gone according to plan. They are 4-5 on the season and playoff hopes are now a thing of the past. Most of this hasn’t been something they can control.

The 49ers are down many key pieces. Firstly, they are without their quarterback Jimmy Garapollo. Granted, Jimmy has not been very good this year when healthy but who knows if he has even been healthy at all this year. He has been very underwhelming and looks to have lost favor with head coach Kyle Shanahan. I wouldn’t be surprised at all that this is the end of the road in San Francisco for the quarterback.

Also injured, and most likely out for the year, is maybe the best Tight End in football George Kittle. That is a big blow to any team but especially one already reeling from injuries.

The 49ers defense has also been banged up most the year. It has been a rough year for all involved with the 49ers injury wise.

That brings us to Sundays game. The high flying, division leading New Orleans Saints will be hosting the 49ers and looking for their seventh win of the season. As usual, Drew Brees will look the pick apart the susceptible 49ers defense.

My Pick: I think the game will be a blowout. The 49ers season is almost all but over and I don’t envision them playing very hard on Sunday. I predict the Saints will win by two touchdowns 28-14.

San Francisco 49ers podcast with David Zizmor: Bourne will not be back for Sun game in New Orleans; WIlliams, Samuel, and Aiyuk expected back for Sunday

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (84) making a catch in front of the Seattle Seahawks defensive back Jayson Staley (29) at Century Link Field in Seattle Sun Nov 1, 2020 (AP News photo)

On the 49ers podcast with David:

#1 San Francisco 49ers (4-5) wide receiver Kendrick Bourne who was on the Covid-19 reserve list on Thursday then was tested on Friday and tested negative and the 49ers said he was on the Coivd list again. The 49ers did not disclose whether if Bourne is on or off the list and he will not suit up for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints (6-2).

#2 The 49ers announced that Tackle Trent Williams and wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk were off the Covid list and are expected to be ready for the game in New Orleans Sunday.

#3 The 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman who had suffered a calf injury during week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals is practicing and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is studying Sherman’s progress. Is Sherman day to day or could he be out for the next three games?

Headline Sports podcast with London Marq: When will Chiefs Bieniemy finally get a head coaching job?; Brady and the Bucs laid out by Saints; plus more

Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bieniemy can’t catch a break despite the Rooney rule in the NFL. Bieniemy has been passed over for a few coaching jobs in the NFL. (Kansas City Star Tribune file photo)

On Headlines podcast with London:

#1 Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bieniemy has seen it many a time apply for a head coaching job in the NFL and get turned away. It happens everytime but inspite of the NFL’s Rooney rule. Nobody of color is looking to have the job handed to them but there is little doubt their have been assistant coaches who have applied and were turned away like Adam Gase and Freddie Kitchens.

#2 Last Sunday how shocked were you to see the demo job the New Orleans Saints did on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 38-3 win. For Saints quarterback Drew Brees 222 yards for four touchdowns.

#3 The most embarrassing part was the Bucs quarterback Tom Brady just got flatten by the Saints pass rush and Brady ended up with 209 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions.

#4 How much of a beating does Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have to take he played with two sore knees kept the Steelers in it with a 8-0 record and threw for 306 yards three touchdowns for the Steel Curtain’s 24-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

#5 The New York Jets on Monday Night Football prime time national televised game the Jets took a ten point lead against the New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton under center the Jets in front 27-17 fourth quarter Patriots rally with 13 points Newton doesn’t throw for one touchdown in the game gets 274 yards but the Patriots come back and defeat the Jets 30-27.

That’s Amaury’s News and Commentary: Baseball and Veterans Day

That’s Amaury’s News and Commenty

By Amaury Pi Gonzalez

No sport is more intertwined with the US military than baseball. Through the years many baseball players have served their nation, during times of war or peace. Some volunteered for war, some were drafted, other served in uniform in the reserves, regardless of their circumstances all showed their patriotism and selfishness to their country.

Among Hall of Fame players that served are:

Cleveland Indians Bob Feller. He left an over six-figure contract and joined the US Navy right after the Japanese attack in Pearl Harbor. He was the first American professional athlete (among all sports) to enlist and served in the US Navy from 1941 to 1945. In 1946 Bob Feller’s fastball was clocked at 98.6 miles-per hour, by a US Army device. It was the fastest at that time.

Boston Red Sox slugger Ted Williams. Teddy Ballgame is frequently mentioned as the last man in major league baseball to hit over .400 when he ended the 1941 season with a .406 batting average. His military career was also exemplary as a pilot during World War II and the Korean War, he and Larry McPhail,(high ranking baseball executive) are the only two to have served in two wars.

New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio enlisted in 1943, and never saw combat. The Yankee Clipper served as a physical education instructor in the US Army Special Services, mostly stationed in California and Hawaii.

New York Giants center-fielder Willie Mays was drafted by the US Army in 1952 during the Korean War. Although he did not see action during the war, he was much valuable to the military participating in media campaigns and public exhibitions to raise troop moral. He returned to the Giants in 1954 and led the National League with a .345 batting average, winning the Most Valuable Player.

New York Yankee legendary catcher Yogi Berra volunteered during the assault on Normandy, France, during the famous D-Day. Berra was told not to mention his secret mission to his family. He was on a rocket boat during the first waves of the allied invasion of Europe, landing at Normandy, France, which began the eventual undoing of Hitler and his occupation.

The most famous #42. Jackie Robinson joined the US Army in 1942 and was commissioned a second Lieutenant in 1943. Honorably Discharged in 1944. While serving Robinson was arrested and court-martialed protesting segregation, but was acquired later. Pitcher Hoyt Wilhelm (He threw the best Knuckleball ever) pitched for the NY Giants and eight other teams, served in the US Army during the Battle of the Bulge, was injured in and received a Purple Heart

These Hall of Famers also served in uniform: Roberto Clemente, Tom Seaver, Rod Carew, Nolan Ryan, Don Larsen, Pee Wee Reese, Johnny Mize, Joe Gordon and many others.

Sandy Alderson, once Executive for the Oakland Athletics, new York Mets and San Diego Padres, served during the Viet Nam war as a US Marine Lieutenant.

My apologies to those I did not mentioned and the many more that also served the country.

On behalf of all the staff here at Sports Radio Service and our veterans we salute you and thank you for your support. past and present collaborators; Ken Gimlin, US Army, Joe Cronin, US Army, Tony Rentería, US Marines, Jerry Feitelberg, US Army, Amaury Pi-González, US Army.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Barbara Mason: Agholor’s 45 yard third quarter touchdown catch dealbreaker for Raiders

One of the Las Vegas Raiders unsung heroes Nelson Agholor (15) in Aug 13, 2020 photo who has been doing an impressive job at wide receiver and scored the go ahead touchdown in the Raiders 31-26 win over the Los Angeles Chargers Sun Nov 8, 2020 (AP File Photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Barbara:

#1 Barbara, do you agree that the Las Vegas Raiders (5-3) have nerves of steel they are the only team to have defeated the Kansas City Chiefs (8-1), they beat a struggling New England Patriots (2-5) and they get a chance to tee off on the Denver Broncos (3-5) this Sunday.

#2 The Raiders wide receiver Nelson Agholor’s 45 yard third quarter catch from quarterback Derek Carr at 13:18 was the deal breaker after the Raiders were trailing 17-14 to the Los Angeles Chargers (2-6) to pull ahead 21-17 and stay ahead for the rest of the game.

#3 The Chargers made a valiant effort down the stretch in the fourth quarter at 9:04 when quarterback Justin Herbert threw to Gabe Nabers four yard pass to cut the Raiders lead to just two points 28-26.

#4 The Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson hit a 31 yard field goal with just 4:37 left for some insurance points for the 31-26 victory.

6. The Oakland A’s have their eye on draft pick Ha-Seaong Kim from the Korean Baseball Organization in the free market agency. Kim is a shortstop who hit .308, 30 home runs, and 23 stolen bases. Kim could be a replacement for Marcus Semien but the A’s do say they are determined to keep Semien.
