On the Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Tony R:

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) just couldn’t get any scoring going in all four quarters and not enough to stay in step with the Miami Dolphins (4-6) getting beat 34-19 dropping their sixth straight game at Hard Rock Cafe in Miami.

#2 The Raiders with this loss have given up 75 points in their last two games 34 points Sunday against the Dolphins and last week 41 points to the Cincinnati Bengals. The defense has to be exhausted and the offense is giving up to many fourth downs.

#3 Tony the fourth quarter Sunday really ate up the Raiders defense the Dolphins were unstoppable scoring 17 points to putting much put this game out of reach with the Dolphins De’Von Achane carrying for two yards for a touchdown at 10:37, Jonnu Smith at 3:19 caught a 57 yard pass to make it 31-19 and at Miami kicker Jason Sanders booted a 46 yard field goal at 1:55 for the 34-19 final.

#4 Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew continues to get frustrated and just couldn’t convert enough scoring to catch the Dolphins. Minshew 30-43 for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Minshew was having trouble staying in the pocket and getting protection.

#5 Up next for the Raiders the Denver Broncos (6-5) at Allegiant Stadium next Sunday for a 1:05pm PST kickoff against the Denver Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix. The Broncos have been hovering around .500 and played the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Can you see the offensive line recovering for the Raiders and being able to hold the Broncos pass rush so that Minshew could get some time to pass the ball?

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki left is on the run against the Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jakorian Bennett in second half action at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on Sun Nov 3, 2024 (AP News photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez:

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) once again get pummeled this time by the Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati 41-24. In the first half Rich the Raiders did have a close half coming out of it trailing 17-10 and it looked like the Raiders were going to stay in step with the Bengals.

#2 Raider starting quarter back Gardner Minshew was 10-17, 124 yards, did not throw or carry for a touchdown and didn’t throw an interception. Minshew and the Raiders just couldn’t much going on scoring in the third and fourth quarters.

#3 The Raiders couldn’t shut down the Bengals scoring in the second half as the Bengals in third quarter scored 14 points and ten points in the fourth quarter to run away with the game.

#4 Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow got good protection and was mobile against the Raiders pass rush finishing with a line of 27-39, 251 yards, had all day to throw with five touchdowns and was intercepted once.

#5 The Raiders hope to end their current five game loss streak as they head to Miami and Hard Rock Stadium for a 10:00am PST kickoff with the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a 25-28 afternoon throwing for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Any chance the Raiders can snap out of this funk against the Dolphins next Sunday?

Raiders Drop Fourth Straight Game, as Champion Chiefs Violated them 27-20, in Sin City

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew is stopped by the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton (98) in second half action at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sun Oct 27, 2024 (AP News photo)

By Michael Roberson

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders (2-6) lost their fourth consecutive game of the season to the back-to-back Super Bowl champion and STILL undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (7-0), 27-20, on a Sunday afternoon in the Desert.

The Raiders won the coin toss, but decided to defer to the second half, and give the first opportunity to the well decorated Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs offense. They regretted that immediately, as Kansas City obliged the gift and went directly downfield and scored the games first points.

Chiefs’ running back Kareem Hunt burst through the line for a one yard TD run, putting his team up 7-0. It seemed to be the beginning of a blowout; however, the home team had an answer for that rhetorical question. The Raiders were intent this evening to score on their first drive.

Late in the first quarter, Raiders’ QB Gardner Minshew tossed a seven yard touchdown pass to WR Jakobi Myers. That quickly, the game was tied at seven. It was also the tally at the end of the quarter. The Raiders demonstrated that they wanted more in the second.

Kicker Daniel Carlson pet his team up by three after he booted a 51-yard field goal. The Raiders were up 10-7, and scored on their first two possessions. Momentum was on Las Vegas’ side early in the second quarter, but Kansas City had the nuclear weapon on the other sideline.

Just under the two-minute warning of the half, Patrick Mahomes went into his bag and pulled off another scoring drive. He hooked up with his favorite target, Travis Kelce for a five yard touchdown pass. Seconds before recess, Harrison Butker Converted a 42-yard field goal, which put KC up by seven, 17-10.

Mahomes threw for nearly 200 yards in the first half, and a touchdown, while Minshew also had a TD and just over 100 yards passing. The Raiders were down seven, but going to receive the ball to start the second half.

Although they did not score on their first possession of the third quarter, they were the first team to put points on the scoreboard. Carlson kicked a 32-yards to bring the Raiders within four, 17-13. The Raiders had a chance to take over the score and game during the 3/4 mark of the contest; however, that did not come to fruition.

Mahomes was backed up against his own goal line, and committed a very uncharacteristic turnover, putting his team in potential peril, and the Raiders in a very advantageous situation. The Chiefs’ defense came to the rescue for their noble leader, and completely stifled the Raiders’ offense and lessened their chances to win. Las Vegas took a sack on forth and Goal, turning the ball back over to the visitors, while letting Mahomes off the hook for his egregious interception.

With that reprieve, Kansas City scored early in the fourth quarter, on another Butker field goal (24), putting them farther in the lead by seven, 20-13. After a Gardner Minshew fumble/turnover midway through the final quarter, the Chiefs capitalized on their miscue three minutes later. Mahomes connected with WR Xavier Worthy for a nine yard TD pass, KC went up by two touchdowns, 27-13.

Before the Chiefs could get comfortable with the double-digit lead, the Raiders managed to score right before the two-minute warning. Minshew hit WR Tre Tucker in the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown. Back within seven, 27-20, all the Raiders could do was try to perform an on-side kick. They did try, but luck was not on their side. The Chiefs took the obligatory “knee” and the clock clicked down to 0:00. After 60 minutes of play, KC was victorious 27-20 over LV.

Kansa City remains the only unbeaten (7-0) team after the somewhat impressive win in Nevada. The Chiefs could win a threepeat and go undefeated in the same season. However, it may not be that likely, especially barely winning against a team in the midst of a losing streak.

The Raiders are next in action Sunday, November 3 in Ohio, as they will face the Cincinnati Bengals at 1pm EST/10am PST. The Chiefs fly back to Missouri and host Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football, November 4 at 7:15pm CST on ABC/ESPN.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Time runs out for Raiders in fourth quarter lose to Chiefs 27-20

The Las Vegas Raiders Jakobi Meyers (16) makes a touchdown catch against the Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid (20) in the first half at Allegiant Stadium on Sun Oct 27, 2024 (AP News photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez:

#1 Close game actually closer than the score the Raiders tried to keep up with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. The Chiefs had a 17-13 lead midway in the third quarter.

#2 Up to that point in the game did it look like Raiders would be able to hold back the Chiefs it looked like the defense was working for Vegas through the third quarter.

#3 The Chief broke it open in the fourth quarter when the kicker Hunter Bulker booted a 24 yarder with 8:44 left to make it 20-13 so the Raiders now trailed by a touchdown.

#4 The Chiefs later would put the game out of reach with 4:59 left in the game when quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a nine yard pass to wide out Xavier Worthy for a touchdown making it 27-13. The Raiders would add another seven points when quarterback Gardner Minshew threw an 11 pass to wide out DJ Turner to make it 27-20. It was not enough at 2:03. The Raiders lose their fourth straight game.

#5 The Raiders head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The Bengals have won two out of their last three games. The Bengals lost their seventh game today (3-5) to the Philadelphia Eagles 37-17. With that in mind is there a chance the Raiders can bounce back and win this game in Cincinnati next Sunday?

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Tony Renteria: What to expect as Chiefs come calling this Sunday at Allegiant

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew (15) is caught from behind by Los Angeles Rams linebacker Michael Hoecht (bottom) at So Fi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sun Oct 20, 2024 (AP News photo)

On the Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Tony Renteria:

#1 In the past three weeks the Raiders have turned the ball over ten times, had 25 penalties that costed them 201 yards.

#2 Two of the penalties were two digit penalties and they called on infractions that officials ended up spotting the ball a good ten or more yards against them.

#3 The Raiders are now averaging three turnovers a game. Is this a matter of pressing, not being focused, or just plain getting hit hard by the opposition whose forcing fumbles?

#4 Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce said “We’ve got to stop beating ourselves with turnovers, with penalties,” Pierce said Monday. “When opportunities are there, we have to make them. We’re not doing that right now.”

#5 The Raiders face a 6-0 Kansas City Chiefs team who are on a hot roll. Will this be a game where the Chiefs will simply be unstoppable and have their way with the Raiders or will it be a game of the Raiders will regroup and just might be able to keep in step with the Chiefs?
