Barracuda fall to Eagles 4-2, splitting the series

SAN JOSE- The San Jose Barracuda couldn’t hold on and lost a tough one to the Colorado Eagles at Tech CU in San Jose on Saturday 4-2. Right place at the right time, the Barracuda Colin White scored his 18th goal of the season, seventh on the powerplay for San Jose take the 1-0 lead.

Oliver Wahlstrom with the primary assist and Quentin Musty with the secondary assist. 30 seconds later, Colorado tied it at 1-1 when Alex Barre-Boulet scored his 25th goal of the season. Jacob MacDonald with the primary assist and Gavin Brindley with the secondary assist.

Taking their first lead of the game, Jayson Megna scored his 26th goal of the season. Matt DiMarsco registered the lone assist. To tie it at 2-2, Colin White scored his second of the game, 19th of the season.

Scoring his first AHL goal, Colorado’s Mattt DiMarsico gave Colorado the 3-2 lead. Tristen Nielsen recording the primary assist and Jayson Megna recording the secondary assist. Securing the win, Colorado’s Gavin Brindley also scored his first AHL goal. Alex Barre-Boulet with the lone assist.

After the first period, Colorado outshot San Jose 14-7. After the second period, San Jose outshot Colorado eleven to six. After the third period, Colorado outshit San Jose 9-8.

Coming into Saturday night’s game, San Jose was second on the powerplay and third shorthanded. Saturday night, San Jose went 1/4 on the powerplay. For Colorado, they came into Saturday night’s game fifth on the powerplay and fourth shorthanded. Saturday night, Colorado went on the powerplay 0/3.

For San Jose, Gabriel Carriere got the start. Making 25 saves on 29 shots, Carriere recorded Saturday’s loss. For Colorado, Trent Miner got the start. Making 24 saves on 26 shots, Miner recorded Saturday’s win.

The Barracuda will be back in action on Tuesday December 7th where they will host the San Diego Gulls. The last time these two teams faced off was on Wednesday March 11th where the Barracuda won 4-1. Anthony Vincent, Oliver Wahlstrom, Jimmy Huntington, and Filip Bystedt all scored in the win.
