Golden State Warriors podcast with David Zizmor: Warriors look to take a 3-1 series lead after tonight; Rockets’ D’Antoni for tonight: “The pressure is on the Warriors”

On the Golden State Warriors podcast with Dave:

The Golden State Warriors who return back to Oracle Arena after their electric victory in Game 3 will host Game 4 tonight. The Warriors are up 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals can take a 3-1 series lead and be in a good position to clinch in Houston on Thursday in Game 5. Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni says that the pressure is on Golden State while Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says while D’Antoni is right the pressure also on the Rockets tonight.

The Warriors’ Kevin Durant has dominated in the playoffs and Stephen Curry has found his shot in the third game leading the Warriors to a one-game lead. The Rockets are aiming to key in on Durant and Curry, but the way the two have been lights out, it just might be too much to handle for Houston and the Warriors very likely could force a Game 5 tonight.

NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Conference Finals podcast with Len Shapiro: Knights, first year expansion team, makes sports history; Caps-Lightning face off for Game 6 tonight

On the NHL Stanley Cup Playoff podcast with Len:

The Vegas Golden Knights continue to write sports history as they clinched Game 5 against the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 on Sunday. The Knights got past the Sharks to start the second round of the playoffs.

Then knocked off Winnipeg 4-1 in Round 3. The Knights have been dubbed “a band of misfits” they were castoffs from different NHL teams and were expected to finish in the dumper as a first year expansion team. But as the Knights say in their pregame light show earlier in the series “The Impossible happened.”

At the beginning of the season, the Knights were 500-1 odds of making it to the Stanley Cup Finals and now here they are just waiting for either the Tampa Bay Lightning or the Washington Capitals to finish off their series as they play Game 6 tonight with Tampa Bay in a 3-2 lead.

San Francisco Giants podcast with Morris Phillips: Ex-Giant Romo starts his first career game; Belting them out of the yard, Belt with 3-run jack

@SFGiants photo: San Francisco Giant Brandon Belt goes yard for a three-run homer against the Colorado Rockies at AT&T Park Sunday.

Morris Phillips on the SF Giants podcast:

Former San Francisco Giants pitcher Sergio Romo pitched in his first career start for the Tampa Bay Rays. Romo used as a closer or reliever in his Giants, Dodgers and now Rays days, pitched an inning plus no runs, walking two, and striking out three against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.

Brandon Belt: Belt has been hitting the ball out of AT&T Park like he’s auditioning for the Hall of Fame. Belt hit another majestic home run this time a three run shot that helped put the Giants in the win column with a four-run 9-5 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Belt’s been hitting as hard as anyone else and getting as many home runs as he has in a short amount of time this has been an incredible ride for him.

Next up at AT&T: The Giants are off Monday, but will hit the road starting with Houston on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then they get another day off on Thursday 24th then open up a three-game series in Chicago on Friday night against the Cubs. Then they close out the road trip in Colorado next Monday night at Coors Field.

NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals podcast with Matt Harrington: A Vegas win Sunday would make the Knights a first-time, first-year expansion team to go to the NHL Finals

@GoldenKnights photo: The Vegas Golden Knights Reilly Smith who scored the game winning goal in the third period on Friday night at T Mobile Center in game 4 as the Knights take a 3-1 lead going back to Winnipeg

On the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs podcast with Matt:

The Vegas Golden Knights, who entered their first year expansion season, were even long odds in the their hometown at 500-1 to go all the way when they were chasing the puck in September during preseason. Now those same oddsmakers have the Knights favored to go all the way to win the NHL Stanley Cup, which would be a first in any sport for a first year expansion team.

The Knights down 1-0 to the visiting Winnipeg Jets on Friday night at the T-Mobile Center got their game plan together with goals from Reilly Smith who scored on a breakaway in the latter stages of the third period. The goal put the Knights a goal in front of the Jets and later for the win 3-2.

The Knights also got offensive help with goals from William Karlsson and Tomas Nosek. The Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 shots by the Jets in gGame 4 and moved into ninth place for wins by a goaltender in the NHL post season.

NHL Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Playoff podcast with Joe Lami: Lightning strikes twice as Tampa Bay ties series with Caps at two apiece

(Photo: Amber Searls, USA TODAY Sports) Ouch! Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin (8) feels the pain after the Tampa Bay Lightning put the stop to his attempts to score in the second period

On the NHL Stanley Cup Eastern Conference playoff podcast with Joe Lami:

Up 2-0 after the first two games in Tampa Bay, the Washington Capitals had a lot of confidence going back to Washington that this one was in the bag. A swagger and maybe some overconfidence during the morning skates before Games 3 and 4 and no idea what would be ahead after the conclusion of the two games on the Capitals’ ice.

In the first period of Game 4, the Lightning scored twice in the first period wasting no time as the Bolts’ Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos put the Lightning in the drivers seat. The Capitals would score only a goal in that first period and another in the second for all their offense on Thursday night.

In the third period, the Lightning’s Alex Killorn scored his fifth goal of the postseason and Anthony Cirelli found the back end of the net with his second goal of the postseason to put this one to bed for the 4-2 win.

Joe tells you about Tampa Bay’s success in coming back in this series with speed, shutting down Alex Ovechkin, and taking Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby out of his game. Joe also takes a look at going back to Tampa Bay and what Washington needs to do to get back into this series in Game 5.

San Francisco Giants podcast with Michael Duca: Giants are a .500 club and doing better than most

@SFGiants photo: Inside the San Francisco Giants dugout are the bat rack and the helmets of Brandon Crawford, Brandon Belt, Evan Longoria, and Andrew McCutchen on Thursday night.

On the SF Giants podcast with Michael Duca:

I like what the San Francisco Giants are doing better than what the Los Angeles Dodgers are doing. The Dodgers snapped their six-game losing steak Thursday night and caught up with the Miami Marlins. The Dodgers are now 17-26 and the Marlins drop to 16-27 in their loss to LA.

There are six teams on pace to lose 100 games and the Dodgers and Marlins are two of them, the Padres are another one. The White Sox are currently on a pace to lose 121. The White Sox have won only 11 games thus far this season. The White Sox won a game against the Texas Rangers on Thursday 4-2, snapping a two-game lose streak.

So with all things being equal coming into Thursday’s game at 22-22 isn’t all bad. Everybody has been saying they’re playing .500 ball and if they get healthy, they can do some damage and they certainly can. Pitcher Madison Bumgarner came out of his bullpen rehab healthy and was rearing to go and throw another one and then head out on his rehab assignment.
