#2 Ronald Acuna Jr the Atlanta Braves outfielder had to leave Tuesday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals due to tightness in his right Achilles tendon. The Braves medical staff will be checking Acuna Wednesday before their game.

The Yankees are trying to strengthen their line up without Judge and might make some more moves before Thursday’s trade deadline. The Sox got minor league pitcher Gage Ziehl for Slater.

#4 Amaury the San Francisco Giants are on a five game losing streak, they have the worst record in baseball since July 9 at 3-12 (.250). People on the talk shows and the sports writers are asking questions. One of those has been is there any difference from the way the club is being ran since former Giants president Farhan Zaidi left to the it’s being ran with team president Buster Posey or it’s neither one of their faults and the buck stops with team CEO Larry Baer who signs off on who comes and goes?

#5 The Sacramento A’s after sweeping the Houston Astros in four games in Houston have won five of their last six games. The A’s are going well getting hitting from their big boppers Brent Rooker, Lawrence Butler, Nick Kurtz, and Jacob Wilson. They’ve also been getting some great pitching from their starters JP Sears, JT Gin, Jacob Lopez and Luis Severino.

#2 Michael, what is wrong with the New York Mets Juan Soto. You remember the one game where he didn’t leave the batters box and watch a fly ball hit the fence and he only got a single out of it. He might eventually get out of this funk but is the pressure of being one of the highest paid players in the number one market something that’s been overwhelming for him?

#3 Since the 1962 New York Mets it took until 2024 for another team to become the worst team in MLB history in the Chicago White Sox. The Sox this season have some competition with the Colorado Rockies who are on a pace to catch and pass the Sox. After a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday the Rockies now have dropped their record to 8-42 and have the worst start of a club in MLB history in the first 50 games. That record was previously held by the 2023 Oakland A’s who were 10-40.

#4 The Los Angeles Angels Taylor Ward belted a grand slam and the Angels took it to the Sacramento A’s on Thursday afternoon with a 10-5 win. #3 Boston Red Sox second baseman Vaughn Grissom is not expected to be in the opening day line up. Grissom was taking ground balls a week before spring training games started but injured his groin and now is being observed and Sox manager Alex Cora didn’t have a time when Grissom would be back.

#4 Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Daniel Voglebach rubbed it in a bit hitting a two run homer off New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole in the first inning. Voglebach after hitting the ball flipped his bat and slowly ran the bases. Cole said after the game “I don’t forget a lot of things.”

#5 Oakland A’s team president David Kaval said he will be unveiling the artist renderings for the A’s new ballpark in Las Vegas at the Tropicana. The deal also includes an opt out on the second year of the contract. Gurriel hit .261, with 144 hits and 24 home runs. How much of a good deal is this for Gurriel and the Diamondbacks.

#2 Shohei Ohtani and Ronald Acuna are both racking up trophies. This time they both win the Hank Aaron Award for most offensive performer. Ohtani hit .304, 151 hits, and 44 home runs. That’s Amaury News and Commentary podcast: How serious is a deal for A’s playing last 3 years in San Francisco?; Dodgers top pick so far for Ohtani

Former Los Angeles Angels two way player Shohei Ohtani won the 2023 AL MVP and is an odds on favorite to join the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2024 season. It’s yet to be determined. (AP News file photo)

On That’s Amaury News and Commentary podcast:

#1 Insiders have said that Oakland A’s president David Kaval after the MLB owners vote to move to Las Vegas that Oracle Park home of the San Francisco Giants could be the home of the A’s for the remaining three years 2025-27 while they wait for the Tropicana ballpark to be completed by 2028. How strong do you see that possibility.

#2 It’s ironic if the Giants were to allow the A’s to play at Oracle Park for the 2025-27 season in San Francisco after not allowing the A’s to have territorial rights to move to San Jose and now will allow them to come to Oracle and play their final three years in the San Francisco.

#3 No surprises here as former Los Angeles Angel Shohei Ohtani was named the AL MVP, Ohtani the two way player was 10-5 with an ERA of 3.14 pitching and hit .305 with 151 hits, 44 home runs, 102 runs, and 95 RBIs.

#4 Atlanta Braves Ronald Acuna Jr won the NL MVP hitting .337, 149 runs, 41 home runs, and 106 RBIs. Both Acuna and Ohtani won by unanimous decisions which is a first in the 92 years of the award.
