Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (89) catches a pass throw in the end zone from quarterback Geno Smith against the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half at So Fi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sun Nov 30, 2025 (AP News photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Rich Perez:

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert threw two touchdown passes and it gave the Chargers an early leg up on the Las Vegas Raiders in a 34-14 win. With the loss the Raiders suffer their sixth consecutive set back this time at So Fi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Chargers Quentin and Ladd McConkey each had touchdowns on receptions and running back Kimani Vidal carried for a career high 126 yards. Vidal also scored on a 59 yard carry for the Chargers. The Chargers who lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week came right back and picked up their fourth win out of their last five games.

For Raiders quarterback Geno Smith went 18-23 for 165 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. For the Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert 15-20 for 151 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The Raiders didn’t execute in the first or third quarters getting shutout in each of those quarters.

The Raiders will try it all over again as they take on the Denver Broncos at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next Sun Dec 7 for a 1:05pm kick off. The Broncos previous to Raiders loss have won eight straight games and were 9-2 before their game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Tony Renteria: Raiders defense just couldn’t put the brakes on Commanders

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNicols (26) breaks free from the Las Vegas Raiders defense in the first half at Northwest Stadium in Landover MD on Sun Sep 21, 2025 (AP News photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Tony Renteria:

#1 Washington Commanders (2-1) quarterback Marcus Mariota got lots of protection and had all day to throw against the Las Vegas Raiders (1-2) defense going 15-21, 207 yards, and one touchdown in the 41-24 win.

#2  Washington changed it’s playbook from their last game as nearly half of the starters in Sunday’s game were changed and Mariota was backing up for injured first stringer Jayden Daniels. Mariota got 201 yards on the ground against the Raiders and 174 in the first half.

#3 The Commanders set the tone in the first half taking a 20-10 lead at the half and that had Raiders head coach Pete Carroll concerned that the defense was not putting any pressure on Mariota who was getting time to throw.

#4 In the second half the Commanders outscored Las Vegas 21-14. The damage was done mostly in the first half and the Raiders couldn’t salvage it in the second half getting shutout in the third quarter and scoring twice on touchdowns thrown by quarterback Geno Smith at 12:57 to Tre Tucker for a ten yard pass and at 3:42 Smith hit Tucker for a 61 yard touchdown.

#5 The Chicago Bears who lost their first two games of the season and faced the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago. The Raiders will be hosting the Bears at Allegiant Stadium on Sun Sep 28 a 1:25pm PT kick off. Can the Raiders rebound after loses to the Los Angeles Chargers and the Commanders against a struggling Bears team?

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Tony Renteria: Can Raiders take advantage of a Daniels-less Commanders team this Sunday?

Geno Smith quarterback (7) Las Vegas Raiders fires a pass up the middle against the Los Angeles Chargers defense at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday Night Football Sep 15, 2025 (AP News photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Tony Renteria:

#1 Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) co owner and former New England Patriots great Tom Brady was in the coaching booth for the Raiders as hard as Brady strategized the Raiders took a tough loss on their home field to the Los Angeles Chargers (2-0) at Allegiant Stadium 20-9 in week 3 of the NFL season.

#2 Tony, Brady before the game as a co-owner and a former player you just never get away from that player mentality and passion he certainly wants to be involved in the game.

#3 The Chargers in the first quarter score ten points and got a touchdown from Kennan Allen who caught a ten yard pass from quarterback Justin Herbert with 20 seconds left in the quarter making 10-3.

#4 Second quarter Chargers added another touchdown when Quentin Johnston caught a 60 yard pass from Hebert and the Chargers after the first half had a 17-6 lead.

#5 Second half in the third quarter the Chargers got a field goal from Cameron Dicker a 20 yarder and the Raiders would get a field goal a 37 yarder by Daniel Carlson in the fourth quarter so both defenses pretty much shut it down but the Raiders couldn’t pass the Chargers getting their first loss of the seaon.

#6 This Sunday Sep 21 the Raiders face the Washington Commanders who are 1-1 and lost their last game Thu Sep 11 to the Green Bay Packers 27-18. The Commanders crushed the New York Giants in week 1 in Washington 21-6. How do you see these two teams matching up this Sunday in Washington?

NFL Championship podcast with Charlie O: Oddsmakers–Eagles by 6.5 and Chiefs by 1.5 in today’s Championship Games

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) is tackled by the Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Neville Gallimore (92) in the second half of the NFC Divisional game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sun Jan 19, 2025. Hurts is under center today against the visiting Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship (AP News photo)

On Headline Sports with Charlie O:

#1 Charlie the NFC Championship kicks off all the excitement of post season football between those Cinderella Washington Commanders and the favored Philadelphia Eagles.

#2 In last week’s games, Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels was key in defeating the heavily favored Detroit Lions last week going 22-31, 299 yards, two touchdowns. For the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts 15-20, 126 yards and no touchdown passes to beat the Los Angeles Rams.

#3 In the AFC Championship the Buffalo Bills are one of only two teams to have beaten their opponent the Kansas City Chiefs during the regular season back on Nov 17th 30-17. There also had been an outcry that the officiating is favoring the Chiefs in these post season gams.

#4 The Bills in the AFC Division game last week edged the Baltimore Ravens 27-25. The Bills just got by the Ravens and head coach John Harbaugh in a nip and tuck game. The game boiled down to a missed two point conversion on a pass from the Ravens quarterback LaMar Jackson on a 24 yard pass intended for wide receiver Isaiah Likely failing to tie the game and a two point difference going to the Chiefs.

#5 Charlie it boils down to today’s two NFL Championship games who do you see getting to the Super Bowl and can you see anyone of these two games being a nailbiter?

Headline Sports podcast with Jessica Kwong: Can Bears coach Johnson build them up for post season?; Ichiro misses unanimous Hall election by one vote; plus more news

Former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and current Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson will rebuild the Bears from inside out as he takes over the head coaching duties for the 2025 season (AP News file photo)

On Headline Sports podcast with Jessica Kwong:

#1 Former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and now head coach of the Chicago Bears Ben Johnson was noted for being a play caller as offensive coordinator but can Johnson take that experience and lead the Bears to glory for the 2025 season. Can Johnson fix the Bears who finished in dead last this season with a 5-12 record.

#2 The anticipation of former Seattle Mariner outfielder Ichiro Suzuki to get a unanimous decision for the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown fell short by one vote. The ballot that did not vote for Ichiro was left blank next to Ichiro’s name out of 393 BBWAA writers who cast ballots. No matter Ichiro will be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

#3 UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley cussed at the refs during a time out against the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday night saying, “Don’t turn your back on me. I’m the best coach in the (expletive) sport,” said Hurley while following the ref on the floor. There is no doubt that coach Hurley coaches with emotion and passion.

#4 The Golden State Warriors continue to struggle losing six of their last 11 games, are in 11th place in the Western Conference and are battling to try to move up and get a playoff spot. The Warriors were beaten soundly on Tuesday night 125-85 by the Boston Celtics and lost again to the Sacramento Kings 123-117 on Wednesday night in Sacramento.

#5 Big NFL Championships are coming this Sunday the Washington Commanders at the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship. In the AFC Championship the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

#1  The Kansas City Chiefs have never lost a AFC Divisional game and the Houston Texans have never won one. The case was the same on Saturday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw to Travis Kelce seven times for 117 yards and and a touchdown as the Chiefs took out the Texans 23-14 to advance to the AFC Championship. But there has been a lot of talk about the refs helping the Chiefs in their game Saturday with the Texans.

# 2 The Washington Commanders that underdog, under rated team and going through their post season portfolio, they won their first round of the playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back on Dec 29th in overtime and advanced to face the Detroit Lions on Saturday night. The Commanders shocked not only the nation’s capital but the country with a shocking 45-31 win over the Super Bowl favored Detroit Lions. With the loss the Lions will not appear in the Super Bowl for 59 seasons.

#3 Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady is said to be courting Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to be the front runner for the head coaching opening at the Raiders. There is very little doubt that Brady and other NFL teams will be reaching out to Johnson knowing the success he’s had with the Lions offense.

#4 The San Francisco Giants are rumored to be working a three player blockbuster deal to obtain Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for reliever Camilo Doval, infielder/outfielder Marco Luciano, and outfielder James Tibbs III. The Jays have not been able to seal a deal with Guerrero and the Giants are said to be willing to break the bank and spend $333 to $426 million to get Guerrero who might be San Francisco’s ticket to get to the post season.

#5 The Athletics are hoping to develop Japanese 18 year old two way player Shotaro Morii and were able to bypass the Japanese professional league getting Morii for a minor league signing bonus of $1,510,500.
