photo from masslive.com: Boston Bruins’ Brandon Carlo, left, and St. Louis Blues’ Tyler Bozak jockey for position during the second period in Game 5 of the NHL hockey Stanley Cup Final, Thursday, June 6, 2019, in Boston.

On the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs podcast with Matt:

#1 The St. Louis Blues who are the front runners in the series now evened the series twice in Games 2 and 4. They are certainly aware of the surroundings on the ice and on the series scoreboard too.

#2 Taking a look at some of the key players in the series thus far starting with the Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand in the postseason with eight goals, 13 assists, and 21 points, David Pastrnak with eight goals, nine assists, and 17 points, just two of the many talented players on the B’s who are now trying to solve the Blues at this time.

#3 Matt talks about St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington. While he had a rough Game 3 in which the Bruins beat up on the Blues 7-2, Binnington had two great back-to-back games in Games 4 and 5.

#4 The Bruins are just one game down 3-2 in the series. Do the Bruins feel they’ve got their backs to the wall in an elimination game in St. Louis in Game 6 on Sunday night?

#5 The Blues won two one-goal games in this series. That tells you also a little about their defensive prowess.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Matt Harrington: With Sundqvist suspended, how much of a setback will it be for St. Louis?

missourinet.com photo: The St. Louis Blues’ Oskar Sundqvist puts the hit on the Boston Bruins’ Matt Grzelcyk in Game 2 in Boston, resulting in a one-game suspension for Sundqvist.

On the NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Matt:

#1 Matt talks about St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist, who was suspended for a game for his elbowing the Boston Bruins’ Matt Grzelcyk.

#2 Was the suspension of Sundqvist justifiable and with Sundqvist out of the lineup. how much of impact is that for the Blues?

#3 Blues captain David Backes said that at this rate if this keep up there won’t be any defensemen left. “It’s from behind, elevated, into his head, into the glass. If that’s a two-minute penalty, I think there’s going to be a shortage of defensemen in this series by the end of it. That’s in somebody else’s hands. That’s something I think if I’m making that hit, I’m probably watching from the bleachers for a few.” said Backes.

#4 Will the Bruins come out in Game 3 fired up because of the hit on Grzelcyk or will they be satisfied with the league decision to suspend Sundqvist?

#5 Game 3, the first of two in St. Louis series, is tied 1-1. Matt tells us his thoughts on the upcoming Games 3 and 4.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Joe Lami: Will the Blues and Bruins be a back and forth series?

boston.com photo: Oskar Sundqvist of the Blues knocked Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk out of Game 2 with a first-period hit from behind.

On the Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Joe:

#1 The Blues and Bruins are tied. The way the Bruins came out, it looked like they would dominate, but in Game 2, the Blues got by in overtime 3-2. Do you see this one being an up and down game?

#2 Carl Gunnarsson got the game-winner on a delayed penalty at 3:51 in the OT that gave the Blues the gamer.

#3 In goal, the Blues’ Jordan Binnington stopped 21 shots.

#4 The Blues’ Robert Bortuzzo and Vladimir Tarasenko both scored regulation goals.

#5 The victory for the Blues in Game 2 was St Louis’ first win in 14 tries in Stanley Cup Final games.

#6 Joe sets up game three for us as the next two games are in St Louis starting on Sunday.

That’s Amaury’s News and Commentary podcast: Welcome back Amaury after two months off from surgery; Amaury talks about A’s win streak

twitter.com file photo: Amaury Pi-Gonzalez (left) with broadcast partner Manolo Hernandez Douen (right) prepare to call another Oakland Athletics game in Spanish at the Oakland Coliseum.

On That’s Amaury’s News and Commentary podcast:

#1 Amaury you were out for some two months after one of the longest layoffs in your broadcast career. What was that like being away from the mic?

#2 The A’s are currently on one of the longest streaks they’ve had in recent memory. It’s early, but folks have been talking about that 2002 season when they won 20 straight games

#3 In order to put together a win steak like that, you have to have a lot of things working for you and they’ve been getting timely hitting and long ball help from Mark Canha in place of injured Khris Davis.

#4 The Oakland A’s story has almost overshadowed the Golden State Warriors and their NBA Finals appearance starting in Toronto on Thursday night

#5 Amaury, you covered the Stanley Cup Final three years ago when the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins teed it up, This year, San Jose missed the finals by this much and now it’s going to be the St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins. What was it like to be there at a very electric Stanley Cup Final when you got to cover it three years ago?

NHL Stanley Cup Final podcast with Matt Harrington: Bruins pack em in the Garden just for a morning skate; B’s fans just can’t get enough

photo from boston.com: Matt Grzelcyk and Charlie Coyle of the Boston Bruins take in a morning skate on Friday at TD Waterhouse Garden in preparation of Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final series starting on Monday night in Boston.

On the Stanley Cup Final with Matt:

#1 What is it like for the Boston Bruins to come off a 10-day layoff and open the series at home on Monday night against the St. Louis Blues?

#2 During the layoff, the Bruins had their morning skates at TD Waterhouse Garden, and despite no numbers on the practice jerseys, the fans packed the entire arena and as Matt always says everyone loves a winner.

#3 Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask said, “Guys seemed to be huffing and puffing when they came out. I think once you go 10 days no playing, I think it’s good to get a little action in, get used to that pace. I think that’s what we wanted to accomplish, and it looked good.”

#4 What’s it like for the Blues that the media is lending all it’s attention on the Bruins for the upcoming series? They know with all the B’s hype, they’re the underdogs in this one.

#5 Blues right winger Vladimir Tarasenko is having a great run in the playoffs, leading the Blues in points in the last series against San Jose and the Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington with a 1000% save percentage, a combination like that spells trouble for their opponents during the postseason.

On Headline Sports podcast with Tony:

#1 The tables have turned on the Milwaukee Bucks. After winning the first two games, the Toronto Raptors have won Games 3 and 4 to tie up the series 2-2.

#2 The Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo led all Bucks scorers with 25 points, but it wasn’t enough in Game 4 as the Raptors took care of business 120-102. It’s a brand new series.

#3 The San Jose Sharks, who won Game 3 on a glove-handled puck 5-4, set the St. Louis Blues on fire. The Blues came back to win three straight and win the series to move on against the Boston Bruins for the NHL Final.

#4 The New York Yankees had nearly 17 starters or key players out with injuries so the Yanks called up the reserves and they came through. The one player to admire is the Yankees’ Gleyber Torres, who has hit 10 homers in 11 games against the Baltimore Orioles.

#5 The Oakland A’s are one of the big league’s hottest teams, winning their sixth straight game and a four-game sweep over Cleveland as they head back to Oakland for a Friday night contest with the Seattle Mariners.
