#1 Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has agreed to a six game suspension for a personal conduct violation policy. Rice will begin serving his suspension week 1 of the regular season. Rice will return for Oct 19’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Rice will be attending a disciplinary hearing on Sep 30th. Rice pleaded guilty in mid July on third degree felony charges in car crash that left serious bodily injuries. Rice received a sentence of five years and had his probation deferred probation and got 30 days jail as part of his probation.

#2 Jacksonville Jaguars receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter who had been dealing with upper body injury issues since Aug 14 is reportedly to be healthy and is expected to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sun Sep 7th according to Jags general manager James Gladstone. Hunter had practiced in individual practices but did not play in the last two pre season games.

#3 The New England Patriots improved on their quarterback depth chart picking up former New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito on waivers on Wednesday. The Patriots released wide receiver Kendrick Bourne after contract talks broke down. Devito was a fan favorite with Giants fans who joined the Giants as a undrafted free agent in 2023. DeVito now joins the Pats starter Drake Maye and back up quarterback Joshua Dobbs.

  #4 Adam Thielen was brought back to his native state of Minnesota and where he played most of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. Thielen was traded from the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers will receive from the Vikings the 2026 fifth round pick, the 2027 fourth round pick. While the Vikings get Thielen, a conditional 2026 seventh round pick and a 2027 fifth round pick.

#5 The San Francisco 49ers hold out wide receiver Jauan Jennings who is requesting a contract extension or be traded but the 49ers who noted for being a very tough negotiating partner and 49ers general manager John Lynch said the team has no intention of trading Jennings. Jennings back in July left the 49ers camp on the fourth day of camp due to a calf injury and never returned. Lynch said of Jennings trade request that he had asked for it and Lynch said their not doing it and the team plans to move on.

#1 San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings is still without a contract and is still negotiating wit the 49ers. Jennings is in his last season of his two year $15.4 million contract that he inked in 2024. Jennings has said he wants a new contract or a trade before opening week Sept 7th. Jennings who left camp with a calf injury has not practiced with the team in training camp and has not be to any of the pre season games.

#2 San Francisco 49ers quarterback Tanner Mordecai had a great outing in his last game against the Los Angeles Chargers in game 3 of the pre season finale. Mordecai threw for ten completed passes out of 13 for 103 yards, a touchdown, no interceptions, no sacks, and rushed for 12 yards on three carries. Do you see Mordecai getting some playing time in the regular season.

#3 Brock Purdy told the media this week that he was disappointed in losing the Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. The 49ers lost to the Kansas Chiefs. “I would say I was frustrated about losing the Super Bowl, and it was like, ‘All right, we got to get back,’ ” Purdy told SI “That’s all I saw, was getting back. And because some of those guys are out, I have to go make plays to get us back.

#1 The pre season came to a conclusion on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Chargers (2-2) with the San Francisco 49ers (2-1) coming up with a 30-23 win. Mac Jones the 49ers quarterback is out with an injury and that brought in back up quarterback Tanner Mordecai who threw 10-13 for 103 yards and one touchdown.

#2 After taking a look at Mordecai can he fill the back up role if Brock Purdy had to leave on a moments notice?

#3 49ers running back Jeff Wilson carried 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown. Talk about his chances to make starter?

#4 49ers wide receiver Malik Turner caught three receptions for 41 yards, looks as if he covered the field and was a good target for Mordecai.

#1 Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had surgery done on his left thumb to repair a ligament. Love is said to be ready for the season opener. Love tried to practice with the thumb Monday and work through the injury but it was decided that he needed the procedure.

#2 Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rogers said he did not like the fit of his helmet during practice saying the Schutt Air XP Pro VTD II helmet looks like a space ship out in practice. Rogers said the face mask needs to be change because it’s an old facemask. Rogers words as you can imagine matter as he’s asking for a new helmet saying it doesn’t pass the safety standard.

#3 Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris ran drills for the first time in training camp. Harris had suffered a “superficial eye injury” during a July 4 fireworks mishap. The injury put Harris on the non football injury/inllness list. Harris’ agent said Doug Hendrickson said Harris should be back in time for the season.

#4 Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said that leaked emails by the NFL forced him to resign as the Raiders head coach in 2021. Gruden said the league’s decision disrupted the 2021 season. Gruden said emails were leaked showed that he made racial slurs. What went wrong for Gruden who said the emails were leaked to the press before before Gruden had signed a letter of resignation. “The league’s actions disrupted the whole season,” Gruden said. “We were leading the division at the time, and they completely blindsided me.”

#5 New York Jets quarterback quarterback Tyrod Taylor is undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery and will be out for the rest of the pre season according to Jets head coach Aaron Glenn. The Jets could not say when Taylor will be back from his knee surgery and will he be ready to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers for week 1.
