Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (4) confers with Raiders head coach Jon Gruden during last Sat Dec 26th, 2020 game against the Miami Dolphins at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (AP News photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Superbowl Wayne:

#1 Superbowl how impressive was it for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr to come back from a relatively serious groin injury and play a close game against the Miami Dolphins.

#2 Carr was supposed to be out for ten to 14 weeks but the idea that he was feeling better was really remarkable within itself.

#3 The Raiders just missed last Sun’s game against the Dolphins as the Dolphins scored 13 in the fourth quarter and it was just enough to get them over the top 26-25.

#4 Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa started the game throwing for 94 yards and touchdown and Dolphins back up quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick 182 yards and touchdown just enough to get by Vegas.

#5 The Raiders close out their regular season Sunday against the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium. The Broncos have lost five straight including their last game against the Los Angeles Chargers 19-16. The Broncos quarterback Drew Lock threw for 264 yards and two interceptions. Taking the two interceptions it’s remarkable that Lock and the Broncos were even in breathing distance from the Chargers losing by a field goal.

On the Raiders podcast with Superbowl Wayne:

#1 When Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and the Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa started against each other on Saturday at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas it was a surprise come back of sorts for Carr who was expected to be out some ten to 14 weeks.

#2 At St Louis High School in Honolulu Raider back up quarterback Marcus Mariota mentored Tua as a fourth grade quarterback while he was throwing with the high school kids.

#3 Tua said he never forgot the opportunity that Mariota allowed him as a fourth grader to come throw with the high school players it’s a memory Tua won’t forget and said Mariota  is a humble guy and a hard worker.

#4 Superbowl your from Honolulu and your familiar with St Louis school in Honolulu it’s a special place for Mariota and Tua with long football ties to their early days there. They nearly opposed each other tonight for Sunday Night Football but Carr was feeling a lot better it would have been the first time two quarterbacks would have met from Hawaii had Mariota and Tua if they were to have started against each other.

#5 The Dolphins come in at 9-5 and the Raiders 7-7. The Raiders are coming of a tough Thursday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers 30-27 and the Dolphins are coming off a big win over the New England Patriots 22-12 last Sunday set this game up for us.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Superbowl Wayne: Carr out for 10-14 weeks with groin injury; Moriota keeps Vegas in the game despite loss

No holds bar the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (10) gets a keeper over the goal line good enough for the game winning touchdown on Thursday Night Football at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (AP News photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Superbowl:

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders (7-7) quarterback Derek Carr left with a left groin injury and the Raiders now have lost four of their last five games as their playoffs pretty are gone.

#2 Los Angeles Chargers (5-9) quarterback Justin Herbert saved the game with an overtime keeper to give the Chargers a 30-27 victory. Herbert reached over the goal line to get the game winning six points.

#3 The Raiders have played four AFC West teams all lost to all of them on the final play of the game.

#4 Raider back up quarterback Marcus Mariota played in his first NFL game since he was with the Tennessee Titans on Jan 19th vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Mariota did keep Vegas in the game with 226 yards and one touchdown.

#5 Mariota will be the starter now as Carr is expected to be out with serious groin injury for 10-14 days.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Superbowl Wayne: Colts, Rivers have won five of last six as Raiders prepare to host this Sunday

The Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt (99) gets a second half sack on Indianapolis Colts quarterback Phillip Rivers (17) on Sun Dec 6, 2020 in Houston (AP News photos)

On the Raiders podcast with Superbowl Wayne:

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders (7-5) in their last game in New Jersey at the Meadowlands against the New York Jets (0-12) needless to say shocked the nation when Raiders quarterback Derek Carr  with a Hail Mary comeback touchdown pass with 26 seconds left in the game for a 46 yard pass to wide Henry Ruggs III for the game winning touchdown.

#2 The Raiders had a lead against the Jets in the first half 17-13 but the second half the Raiders didn’t score in the third quarter and the Jets got 15 points in the fourth quarter before Carr’s game saving touchdown pass to get Vegas by the Jets.

#3 Carr threw well enough to win the game 381 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. But it was his pass to Ruggs III to win the game will be the play everybody will remember.

#4 The Raiders host the Indianapolis Colts (8-4) this Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise. This will be the Raiders first home game in three weeks after getting crushed by the Atlanta Falcons(4-8) in the first leg of their road trip before narrowly winning against the Jets last Sunday. The Raiders no doubt are looking for a little home cooking.

#5 Indianapolis Colts have won four of their last six games. The Colts quarterback Phillip Rivers has been doing a bang up job for Indianapolis in his last game he and the Colts beat a well prepared Houston Texans (4-8) team in a close contest 26-20. Rivers threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Raiders take on football’s worst the Jets will it be another “any given Sunday” again?

The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (4) was scrambling for daylight all afternoon at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta against the Falcons on Sun Nov 29, 2020 (AP News photo)

On the Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich:

#1 Rich, how surprising was it for you after the Raiders (6-5) came off a three game win streak then lost to the Chiefs (10-1) in a close game but just totally got broadsided in Atlanta 43-6 last Sunday to the Falcons (4-7)?

#2 Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said it was by far the team’s worst game of the season with Carr himself turning the ball over four times for a total of five Raider turnovers.

#3 Carr threw for 215 yards and threw for one interception Carr just couldn’t get anything going when the Raiders got in the red zone and Carr was constantly scrambling was this because he wasn’t getting protection from the offensive line or because the Falcons just were able to force Carr to turn the ball over?

#4 Further more the Raiders were able to score a field goal in just each of the second and third quarters that was all the offense they could muster up. The Falcons came on like one of those legendary New England Patriot teams from their championship days.

#5 The Raiders now travel to New Jersey to play at the Meadowlands against footballs only remaining winless team the New York Jets (0-11) the Jets got whipped on their own home field against the Arizona Cardinals 30-10. Taking that into account do you see this one being a cinch for the Raiders or one of those “on any given Sunday” games?

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Raiders face a struggling Falcons team this Sunday

Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has won three out of the last six games since taking over a 0-4 Falcons team as head coach. The Raiders face the Falcons at the Georgia Dome Sunday Nov 29th (CBS TV file photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Rich:

#1 Rich it was a close game against the Kansas Chiefs but the last 28 seconds of the game with the Raiders leading 31-28 the Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes threw a 22 yarder to Travis Kelce in an offensive play that took seven plays to execute for the win 35-31.

#2 Rich for head coach Jon Gruden he put together a master playbook against the Chiefs and nearly knocked them off a second time for this season how disappointing was it for Gruden to losing like that in the closing 28 seconds.

#3 Rich talk about the Raiders first half of that game they jumped to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter and had a 20-14 lead at the half all indications look good.

#4 The Raiders quarterback Derek Carr really had himself an evening last Sunday against the Chiefs defense throwing for 275 yards, three touchdowns and interception remarkable when you considering throwing against one of the best teams in the NFL.

#5 The Raiders are 6-3 have won three of their last four games are in Atlanta on Sunday to face the Falcons (3-6) Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris who took over the Falcons when they were 0-4 and got them in the win column winning three of their last six games. How do you see this match up this Sunday?

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: After three straight wins Raiders face Chiefs in Vegas on Sunday Night Football

Las Vegas Raiders cornerback LaMarcus Joyner has also been removed from the Covid list and can see action this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (raidersbeat.com file photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Rich Perez:

#1 After defeating the Denver Broncos and having seven players put on the Covid list for this week and about to come off for Sunday with those seven players having little practice this week how ready will they and the Raiders be to face the Chiefs on Sunday.

#2 Of the seven on the list, safety Jonathan Abram, defensive tackles Maliek Collins, Johnathan Hankins, Kendal Vickers, defensive end Arden Key, cornerback Isaiah Johnson, and defensive end David Irving from the practice squad who on this list is vital to head coach Jon Gruden going into the Chiefs game Sunday?

#3 Cornerback LaMarcus Joyner whose been key in some defensive plays for the Raiders this season has been removed from the Covid-19 list. The Raiders who will need all the defensive help they can get against the Chiefs will look forward to Joyner being the line up.

#4 Rich, talk about cornerback Trayvon Martin and how important he is as a second year corner that has been a big help in some of the Raiders wins and making some great stops on defense?

#5 In his last game for the Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for an amazing 372 yards and four touchdowns as the Chiefs narrowly beat the Carolina Panthers 33-31 last Sunday how do you see this game in Vegas with the Raiders Sunday night?

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Raiders prepare for an improved Cleveland Browns this Sunday

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derick Carr (4) at an indoor practice with the offense preparing for this weekend’s game in Cleveland. Carr trying to shake last Sunday’s loss to Tampa Bay and get back in the win column against the Browns. (reviewjournal.com photo)

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez:

#1 Rich, talk about the breakdown in the Raiders defense that set the stage for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady who ended up scoring four touchdowns was this a matter of Brady being the tactician that he is or the Raiders defense just let down.

#2 The Raiders also struggled on offense as quarterback Derek Carr couldn’t get anything going Carr threw for 284 yards, two touchdowns and and two interceptions. Most afternoons that would be good enough to win a ball game but with the Buccaneers they piled up enough offense and scores that the Raiders couldn’t come close.

#3 The Raiders didn’t have much of a ground game they’re running backs Jalen Richard, Joshua Jacobs, and even Carr couldn’t score carrying the ball.

#4 In the air the Raiders were able to score twice with the help of wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller although not enough at least it wasn’t a wash for the Raiders.

#5 The Cleveland Browns the Raiders next opponent on Sunday are 5-2 they just edged the Cincinnati Bengals 37-34 last Sunday and although they couldn’t handle the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-7 on Oct 18th previous to that game the Browns had won four straight.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Former Raider Antonio Brown joins Bucs; Was Raiders Trent Brown spreader after not wearing tracking device?

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown (24) will rejoin former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (12) Brown is signed for the year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will start playing week 9 after Brown finishes out his suspension. (AP file photo)

On the Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich:

#1 Rich former Raider Antonio Brown at one time was a guest in former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s home when he joined the Patriots. Brown was suspended by the NFL until week 9 of this season and on Friday signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the Raiders next opponent. Brown won’t be eligible to play this Sunday as he is still serving his suspension but will be back Sun Nov 8th to join the Bucs.

#2 Rich, the Raiders had a bye week last Sunday after coming off a week 5 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs the following week. Things were looking up but on Thursday five players have tested positive for the Raiders going into Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers each of these players were tested each day since Thursday.

#3 Jonathan Abrams, Kolton Miller, Denzelle Good, Rodney Hudson and Gabe Jackson are the five Raiders who need to be found negative before being allowed to play on Sunday how crucial are these players in this game against Tampa Bay?

#4 Rich the game between the Raiders and Bucs was scheduled to be the Sunday Night Football prime time game but had to be moved for the afternoon in the event the game was postponed the Seattle-Arizona game has been moved into the Sunday Night Football prime time spot.

#5 Rich, the NFL and the Players Association have investigated how these players might have contracted the virus Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown was said not to have been wearing his tracker consistently which helps keep track of close contacts.

#6 So the big day has come where the Raiders will host Tom Brady and the Buccaneers this is an anticipated meeting and the Raiders who are coming off a close loss to the Buffalo Bills and a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs and had a bye week how ready are the Raiders to take on Brady and the Bucs this Sunday.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast with Rich Perez: Raiders 3 sacks of Mahomes key to third quarter shutout last Sunday

The Las Vegas Raiders Derek Carr looks for a target to throw to against the Kansas City Chiefs pass rush. Carr threw for three touchdowns on Sun Oct 11, 2020 at Arrowhead Stadium (AP News photo)

On the Raiders podcast with Rich:

#1 How inspiring was Raider quarterback Derek Carr’s statement saying “I’m so sick of losing” after week 4’s game against the Buffalo Bills that he came out threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

#2 For the Raiders it was their first victory at Arrowhead Stadium since 2012 and for Carr and the Raiders it was sweet victory and lots of relief.

#3 Two of the Raiders touchdowns came from the ground game and running back Josh Jacobs who also rushed for 23 yards for a total 77 yards he had quite an afternoon last Sunday carry the ball against the Chiefs.

#4 For Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes it would have been just another day at the office with his 340 yards, two touchdowns but it was his three passes that were intercepted and the Raiders defense shutting the Chiefs out in the third quarter that changed Mahomes plans last Sunday.

#5 How important is it for the Chiefs coming off this loss to the Raiders to have signed running back Le’Veon Bell is it a message from head caoch Andy Reid and company that they don’t want a repeat of this kind of a loss again?

#6 The Raiders (2-3) will have a bye here in week six how important is it to get some of important rest before the Raiders prepare for Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sun Oct 25th at Allegiant Stadium for Sunday Night Football.
