#1 Golden State Warriors guard/forward Gary Payton II suffered a torn ligament on his left thumb and the Warriors say Payton is expected to be out indefinitely. Payton injured the thumb on Tuesday night against the Miami Heat in Miami. Payton had been averaging 10.4 points per game.

#2 LeBron James said he was trying to check to see if his buzzer beater made it into the basket as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers 120-119 on Wednesday night. LeBron said he didn’t have too much emotion because see if it went in real time but later got a look at it on the replay. He couldn’t see the shot because he was getting mobbed on the floor by his teammates.

#3 Dallas Mavericks All Star Kyrie Irving had successful ACL surgery for his left ACL on Wednesday. Irving has the surgery at a New York City hospital performed by specialists in ACL surgery. Dr. Riley Williams who is chief of sports medicine did the surgery repairing the tear in the left knee and there was no other damage to the ligament, meniscus. Irving hurt the knee on Mar 3 in Sacramento.

#4  Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said he had confidence that the Bucks will remain competitive with their star player Damian Lillard. Rivers said that it will take multiple players to cover from the loss of Lilliard. Lillard who is a seven time All Star and is suffering from vein thrombosis in his right calf and is taking medication for blood thinning.

#5 Warrior guard Stephen Curry who suffered a pelvic contusion is expected back soon. The Warriors have lost two games without him is his absence a reflection of those loses and a demonstration of how his absence impacts the Warriors?

#1 Dallas Mavericks Kyrie Irving is out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee. Irving 32 was playing against the Sacramento Kings in the early minutes of the game when the injury occurred. What does mean to lose a player like Irving?

#2  Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs who left the game with back spasms on Jan 3 was out until Jan 25 in a game against the Detroit Pistons when he had discomfort in his knee and after further tests show Suggs will need mosaicplasty to repair the trochlear joint surface. His full recovery is expected.

#3 Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says that the officials need to call more traveling calls. Kerr got a technical foul on Monday night in a game against the Charlotte Hornets which the Warriors had won 119-101. Kerr observed traveling by the Hornets were not being called. Kerr pointed to the fans who were screaming for a travel call and Kerr was hit with the technical.

#4 The Dallas Mavericks fans feel like they’re be left holding the bag. First fan favorite and team star Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Davis is now injured after suffering abductor strain. Davis could miss the rest of the season. With that disappoint to add insult upon injury the Mavericks announced that they will be raising ticket prices and increase of about 8.6% for next season. Since the Doncic trade the fans have express their dissatisfaction on how the Mavericks are conducting business decisions.

#5 Cleveland Cavaliers guard Ty Jerome was hit with a whopping $25,00 fine for speaking out against the officials after the Cavs 133-129 close margin win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Jerome disputed that the Cavaliers were called for 53 fouls and that a total of 70 free throws 35 for each team. On average the an NBA game has fewer than 40 fouls. Jerome was upset that the teams were called for a combined 53 fouls and shot 70 free throws Sunday, which included 35 fouls for each team. Jerome was fined for saying “I thought the refs were really bad tonight, especially Natalie (Sago), she was really bad,” Jerome said. “Stuff like that happens. They kind of lose control of the game, and you just got to keep your head. I thought that first half was ridiculous. Third quarter was horrendous.”

#1 Jessica, former Golden State Warrior Klay Thompson who is joining the Dallas Mavericks next season as a breaking story on Monday. Thompson joins Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Derrick Lively II. The Mavericks got to the Finals last season but lost to the Boston Celtics in five games. The Mavericks with Thompson joining them aim to finish the job next season.

#2 Thompson’s father Mychal Thompson said he was disappointed that his son Klay didn’t sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. It came down to the Lakers and Mavericks and Klay got the 3 year $50 million offer and it was just too good to pass up. Still Mychal the former Laker would have loved to see Klay finish up his career with the Lakers.

#3 Former San Francisco 49ers safety Tashaun Gipson has been suspended six games by the NFL for PED use. Gipson was a big help for the 49ers in his two seasons helping the younger defensive backs and helped with tips for the defense. Gipson had a good year in 2023 with 60 tackles, had one sack, one interceptions. In 2022 Gipson had 61 tackles and five interceptions.

#4 Jessica, on Monday the New York Mets outfielder Brandon Mimmo around 5 in the morning in his hotel room in Washington DC fell and cut his head. He wasn’t feeling well and was cramping, fainted and fell. When he came to he didn’t know why he was on the floor with a bloody forehead and called Mets trainer who looked him over and took him for tests. Mimmo had tests done he was negative for a concussion, he had a CT scan done and had a bandage on his head it was reported he got a pretty big cut. He spoke to reporters before Monday’s game and said he was sitting out the game as a precaution.

#5 The 2024 Home Run Derby at Globe Life has some rule changes. The hitter will get 40 pitches to try and convert the ball for home runs. The Derby has been a timed tournament since the 2015 All Star Home Run Derby. So it’s up to the pitcher to get pitch to the hitter to as many times possible. Last season at the Seattle All Star Game the hitter got 43 pitches. The participants have complained in past derbies that they could be injured taking hard swings while trying to rush themselves against the clock. Hitters in this year’s derby will have three minutes in the first two rounds and and two minutes in the championship rounds.

#3 How often would you expect that a two time Cy Young winner in San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell who started with his new team to go out twice with a groin injury. Snell when he does make a start had been lit up and has a 0-3 record and a large ERA at 9.51.

#4 The last player to be suspended for life in baseball was former Cincinnati Reds manager Pete Rose now baseball is cracking down again suspending four players and giving a lifetime ban to San Diego Padres minor league infielder Tucupita Marcana for making 387 bets totaling $150,000.

#5 Jessica, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers. The Oilers took out the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals 4-2 and the Panthers took out the New York Rangers 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals. #1 Cleveland Guardians manager Tito Francona is heading into his 11th season and has his health issues behind him he had the toe and hip surgeries in 2021 and he had the blood clot and gas issues in 2020 and Francona says he’s not hanging it up anytime soon.

#2 Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider’s sixth grade education on the Heimlich maneuver was a life saver last Saturday when Schneider was taking a lunchbreak with his wife Dunedin Florida when a woman at another table started choking the others at the woman’s table didn’t know what to do that’s when Schneider stepped in and performed the maneuver and saved her life. She had been choking on a shrimp.

#3 New York Yankees star Aaron Judge has it all going for him the $360 million contract, the 62 home runs, the team captaincy any pressure for Judge to keep it going for the 2023 season.

#4 As announced by the Toronto Blue Jays their on air broadcasters will do all their road games from a studio as mock up baseball they won’t need to hit two sticks together to make the ball hitting the bat sound but Blue Jays announcer Jerry Howarth said he was “very disappointed” by the decision.

#5 Turning to the NBA Amuary, there is talk about NBA players changing teams like players changing uniforms. If a player doesn’t like where he’s at he just simply gets a trade such as the case as the Brooklyn Nets shipping Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns, Patrick Beverly signed with the Chicago Bulls and Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.

#1 Jessica, the San Francisco 49ers director of player personnel Ron Carthon will be leaving the 49ers to become general manager of the Tennessee Titans. Carthon met with Titan executives on Friday during the interview process and it was announced on Tuesday that he would become general manager. As director of player personnel Carthon has worked five years with the 49ers and over that time the 49ers have been to the Super Bowl and two NFC Championships during that time.

#2 Co-offensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines Matt Weiss was placed on leave by Michigan University. The school’s police department said that they are investigating a report of “computer access crimes” The Wolverines have said that Weiss has not been traveling with the team or been with the team. A neighbor of Weiss said that he saw a number of unmarked police cars outside of Weiss’ residence. Weiss said that he has no comment on the matter and said he is waiting for the investigation to be resolved.

#3 The celebration of the Georgia Bulldogs championship on Sunday went from utter joy to extreme sadness when it was learned of an auto accident that killed offensive lineman Devin Wilcock 20 and recruiting analyst 24 year old Chandler LeCroy who was the driver of a vehicle. LeCroy who was wearing a seat belt was driving at excessive speed. Bulldog offensive lineman Warren McClendon sitting in the right passenger seat survived the crash suffering minor injuries a laceration to the forehead. Victoria Bowles a member of the Georgia football staff was seriously injured and sitting with LeCroy in the back seat.

#4 In NBA news the Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving did not play Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs because of right calf soreness. Irving is expected back in the line up on Thursday according to Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn. The Nets are also currently playing without Kevin Durant who is out with a sprained knee and isn’t expected back for several weeks.

#5 Jessica four big playoff games scheduled in the NFL for this weekend lots of excitement over the final eight teams: In the AFC Jacksonville at Kansas City and New York at Philadelphia in the NFC on Saturday. On Sunday it’s Cincinnati at Buffalo and in the NFC it’s the Dallas at San Francisco. Jessica kind of get your picks for this weekend’s playoff games.

#1 Jerry, the Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry Tuesday night stood in front of the Chase Arena crowd in San Francisco using his superstar status to reach out those who have the decision to make the release of WNBA/Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner possible.

#2 Griner who was sentenced in a Russian prison for nine years for having hashish oil in her suitcase as she tried to leave Moscow. Curry said that he wanted to use the platform to shout out to the basketball community about a very special member who should be released.

#3 Curry said it’s been long over due that Griner has been in prison now for over 243 days since she was wrongfully incarcerated and that everyone is doing their part to see that she gets home.

#4 Jerry, the Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving, the Miami Heat’s Udonis Haslem made a speeches pleading for the US President Joe Biden to work things out with the Russian government to “let our sister go free.”

#5 Jerry, the Warriors host the Denver Nuggets Fri Oct 21 for the Nuggets second game of the season at Chase Center a 7:00pm tip. The Hawks have asked permission to speak with the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.

#3 According to head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin all options are on the table as his starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is presumed not to be returning for the 2022 season after 18 seasons as starting quarterback Roethlisberger will most likely be hanging it up and Tomlin will be searching for a new quarterback for next season.

#4 Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya (polly who said 15 minutes into an interview on Saturday that “Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, OK?” Palihapitiya continued saying “I’m telling you a very hard, ugly truth, OK, of all the things that I care about, yes it is below my line.” The Uyghurs Muslims are being are reportedly being persecuted and suffering from genocide in China according to the US Government. The Warriors embarrassed by the comments are reportedly keeping themselves away from Palihapitya and his remarks and sources say Palihapitya share of the team could be bought out depending on how much the team has to do damage control over the remarks.

#5 Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving re-enforced his no Covid 19 vaccine stance telling the media on Tuesday that his life outside of basketball is his choice not be vaccinated. Irving is not eligible to play in Brooklyn his home building the Barclay Center where the vaccine shot is mandated to be able to play.

#1 Former New York Met pitcher Noah Syndergaard has signed onto a one year $21 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels. Snydergaard pitched for seven years for the New York Mets Snydergaard joins an Angels team that is struggling with starting pitching and hopes to shore that up joining forces with the face of baseball and new teammate Shohei Ohtani.

#2 Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving on Sunday sent out two tweets one showing a picture of the matrix and the other saying “God never fails.” The City of New York has a full vaccine protocol for employees, players, and fans and Irving can’t come into Barclay Center until he’s fully vaccinated.

#3 From all indications from his responses and convictions he will not take the vaccine. Kyrie is allowed to travel with the Nets but the Nets have elected to have him sit out for road trips until he is fully vaccinated which does not look likely.

#4 Former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan had some heavy criticism for Jets head coach Robert Saleh saying he has philosophical differences in his coaching abilities and Ryan added that he’s insulted when he’s compared to Saleh regarding defensive strategies. Saleh said if Ryan feels that personal about it he knows where to find me.

#5 Jessica the New York Yankees and Mets are looking to make some moves to acquire free agents Starling Marte and the Yankees have express interest in Matt Chapman both who were teammates on the Oakland A’s last season. Marte last season played with the Miami Marlins before being dealt to Oakland mid season and hit .310, 145 hits, 12 HRs, and 55 RBIs, Chapman hit .210, 111 hits, 27 home runs, 72 RBIs.

#1 Jessica, You had a chance to see last night’s Wild Card game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox just how shocked was this good hitting potent team the Yankees that they only could manufacture just two runs in the 6-2 one and done loss to the Sox in Boston on Tuesday night.

#2 Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole was pulled he coughed up a Kyle Schwaber home run in the third inning. Cole said that he’s sick to his stomach over his poor outing going two innings, four hits, three runs, two walks and three strike outs.

#3 The San Francisco Giants are in the NL Division Series playoffs and will be hosting the series at Oracle Park in San Francisco which starts on Friday. What made a national story was Oracle park concessionaires Bon Appetit were planning to walk out at the beginning of the playoff meaning this Friday. That was averted when both labor and Bon Appetit management came to an agreement giving concession employees a $3 retroactive raise which covers this and the last two years, a $1.50 in hazard pay that also covered the last two years and increases that will total $7 an hour by 2024. The concession staff currently makes over $20.00 an hour.

#4 The Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving is still unclear whether he will take the Covid 19 vaccine but the pressure is on with opening day for the regular season around the corner. If Irving does not get vaccinated he will not be allowed to play any of the Nets home games at Barclay Center in Brooklyn until he does gets that first shot.

#5 Jessica, the San Diego Padres fired manager Jayce Tingler after he served two seasons with the Padres. The Padres at one time were within striking distance to get the second spot in the Wild Card standings but ended up not being able to seal the deal. Strong possibility to replace Tingler is former San Francisco Giant manager Bruce Bochy who led the Giants three World Series championships.
