#2 Amongst the conflict between the 49ers and Santa Clara, A. Stadium revenue: How much money the 49ers should return to Santa Clara taxpayers. B. Financial transparency: Whether the city should have stronger independent auditing and oversight of stadium finances. C. Stadium expenses: Who should pay for improvements, maintenance and other costs. D.Event restrictions: Rules governing stadium events, including curfews. Watanabe has supported greater scrutiny of the stadium’s finances and has promised more transparency if elected mayor.

#3 On Monday the Sacramento A’s announced they released infielder Jeff McNiel and pitcher Jeffery Springs. McNiel. McNiel hit .264, nine home runs, with 59 RBIs. McNiel had some games where he helped the A’s with some clutch hits and contributed to the club winning some games. McNiel helped the A’s more than he hurt them.

#4 Springs who was released on Sunday as well strugged all year going 4-14 with a 6.18 ERA had numerous games where he went out and got lit up. A’s manager Mark Kotsay stayed with him all 2026 but in the end Springs just didn’t pay off for the club.

#5 The A’s did retain the services of pitcher Luis Severino. Severino was out for most of the season was 2-6 with a 4.17 ERA. Severino left early in the season due to a shoulder capsule and suffered shoulder strains. He’ll receive $22 million from the A’s for the 2027 season.
