World Series podcast with Stephen Ruderman:

#1 Earlier in game 5 the Yankees built up a 5-1 lead that went into the third inning that saw a home run by Aaron Judge and a homer by Jazz Chisholm in the first inning. Alex Verdugo got an RBI single in the second and Giancarlo Stanton with a home run in the third inning.

#2 The Dodgers would chip way at that four run Yankee lead in the Mookie Betts in the top of the fifth inning beat out an infield single that scored Enrique Hernandez and Freddie Freeman’s two run single scored Tommy Edman making 5-3. Then Teoscar Hernandez would hit an two RBI double that would tie up the game at 5-5.

#3 Stanton would fly to center that would score Juan Soto that gave the Yankees a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth. So the Bronx Bombers were not giving up just yet.

#4 The Dodgers would score twice to take the lead back in the top of the eighth when Gavin Lux with RBI hit score Edman and Betts would sac fly to scoring Edman to center put LA in drivers seat 7-6.

#5 The Dodgers would put this one away retiring the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth inning and taking the World Series Trophy back to Los Angeles with them The Dodgers would jump on the Yankees taking the first three games going up 3-0 but the Yankees pounded the Dodgers 11-3 in game 4 but the Dodgers who were behind 5-1 would come back in the fashion that they’ve played in post season with a one run 7-6 win to become the 2024 World Series Champions.

That’s Amaury News and Commentary podcast: McCaffrey back, Samuel being evaluated; Sharks snap nine game skid with first win; plus more news

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (left) sits with running back Jordan Mason (right) during the second half against the New England Patriots at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Sun Sep 29, 2024 (AP News photo)

That’s Amaury News and Commentary podcast:

#1 On the San Francisco 49ers Christian McCaffrey doesn’t look like he has any set back and could be back. Deebo Samuel was seen wearing a oxygen mask leaving the game early talking to a doctor. Amaury no doubt the 49ers would like to see McCaffrey back and hope that Samuel is feeling better both are looking forward to the bye week this weekend.

#2 At some point the San Jose Sharks had to finally end their nine game losing streak and they pulled it off on Monday defeating the Utah Hockey Club in overtime 5-4. The Sharks last season lost their first ten games to start last season and have to be very relieved to get in the win column.

#3 Amaury, talk about how important was it for the Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani to return for game 3 in New York after suffering from the left dislocated shoulder on a slide into second base in game 2 in LA.

#4 In the US the World Series is pulling a TV viewership of 16 million plus in Japan the World Series is pulling over 15 million viewers so Ohtani has done wonders for the series viewership.

#5 Amaury talk about long time Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez who won the Roberto Clemente Award. The award is given to a player that best exemplifies off field humanitarian service in the community. Talk about Perez his hard work and work off the field and he could very well be a future candidate for a spot for the Major League Baseball Hispanic Heritage Hall of Fame Museum.

World Series podcast with Stephen Ruderman: Yankees facing elimination in game 4 tonite; NY could be swept for 4th time in history

New York Yankees Aaron Judge head back to the dugout after striking out against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Yankee Stadium in New York in the first inning of game 3 on Mon Oct 28, 2024 (AP News photo)

World Series podcast with Stephen Ruderman:

#1 The New York Yankees pursuit of their 28th World Series title is in jeopardy as they are on the cusp of elimination after losing game 3 on Monday night at Yankee Stadium 4-2 to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

#2 If the Yankees were to lose tonight at Yankee Stadium it would be the fourth time in their history that they’ve been swept in the fall classic. Which includes loses by sweeps to 1922 to the New York Giants, the 1963 Dodgers, and 1976 Cincinnati Reds.

#3 Aaron Judge has been struggling at the plate and the Yankees pitching allowed four Dodgers runs enough for a two run win for Los Angeles. No doubt it’s the offense that the Yankees need to step up in to get back in this series as the Dodgers have been getting excellent relief help.

#4 Judge so far in the series has gone 1-12, has no RBIs to speak of and has struck out 12 times, Judge has struck out for a total of 40 times in the post season and is hitting .140.

#5 Both clubs back it again tonight in the Bronx and as Anthony Verdugo was questioning in the post game on Monday night “If that team wins three in a row, then why can’t we win three in a row?” Verdugo said.

#2 The Dodgers Freddie Freeman slugged another key home run first in game 1 it was his tenth inning walk off grand slam now in game 2 Freeman gets ahold of a 401 foot right center homer that put the Dodgers three runs ahead of the Yankees 4-1.

#3 Dodgers two way player and superstar Shohei Ohtani injured himself while diving into second base on a steal attempt in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ohtani was laid out after getting tagged out by the Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe. Ohtani is listed day to day with a partially left dislocated shoulder.

#4 San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday Night Football. Both teams are coming off loses in their last games. The 49ers were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs by ten points 28-18. The Cowboys were wiped out by the Detroit Lions last Sunday 47-9 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. How do you see this one tonight?

#5 The Las Vegas Raiders are on a three game losing streak and lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Southland in their last game 20-15. The Raiders host the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday. The Chiefs are 6-0, handled the 49ers pretty well last Sunday is there anyway the Raiders can keep in step with the Chiefs to even have a chance in today’s game at Allegiant Stadium.

That’s Amaury News and Commentary podcast: Will World Series ticket prices beat the A’s regular season prices?

Logo for the 2024 World Series (image by Capital One “What’s in your wallet”)

On That’s Amaury News and Commentary:

#1 Amaury the lowest priced ticket for a for game 1 ticket of the 2024 World Series is $1122 at Dodger Stadium. That’s a little over $500 over what the Sacramento A’s want for a ticket at Sutter Health Park for a regular season game. It’s got to the point where you can’t afford to go to a ball game anymore.

#2 The A’s are offering season ticket plans that run $15,000 to $20,000 a seat which works out to $300 a game. Is this a matter of the A’s getting over on the Sacramento fan or the fans getting a great deal to see Major League Baseball for the first time in the Capital City?

#3 The A’s will have three year stint at Sutter Health as an interim place to play until 2028. The A’s and MLB are rethinking installing artificial turf and go with natural turf. The artificial turf idea was a sticking point with the players but it looks as if the A’s and MLB are going to relent and keep it as natural turf.

#4 This past week A’s owner John Fisher was in Las Vegas for the implosion of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino and he actually spoke to the press saying he was upwards and onwards towards the construction of the new A’s ballpark problem is as of today Fisher has not paid his share of the construction costs for the park. Can he beat the December deadline?

#5 Moving onto another baseball player in the past and he’s still around today a former Atlanta Brave 85 year old Dominican Rico Carty. Carty played from 1963 breaking in with the Milwaukee Braves and retiring with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1979. Carty had a career batting average of .299 and did so well he earned a starting role in the 1970 All Star as a write in candidate. Is Rico a member of the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum and there has to be a little doubt he would be a well deserved member.
