#1 Michael, the Stanford Cardinal (1-4) who are on a four game losing streak are looking to get back in the win column and the Colorado Buffaloes might be they’re best chance as the Buffaloes have lost their last two games USC and Oregon.

#2 The Cardinal lost their last game to the Oregon Ducks at Stanford 42-6 at Stanford Stadium on Saturday. The Stanford defense has to be a concern they allowed the flood gates to open as the Ducks 14 points in the second quarter and 21 in the third quarter.

#3 The story was all Bo Nix the Ducks quarterback as the Cardinal pass rush couldn’t lay a glove on him and Nix had time to throw against the Cardinal.

#4 Nix was 27-32 for 290 yards and four touchdowns. The Ducks rally was so upbeat rather than run up the score on Stanford in the fourth quarter the Ducks went to back up quarterback Ty Thompson who threw for one pass for eight yards.

#5 The Cardinals face the Buffaloes Fri Oct 13th in Colorado for a rare Friday night game. Both teams are coming in hungry as the Cardinal lost their last four and the Buffaloes their last two. Colorado have home field how do you see this match up Friday night?

Oakland A’s relocation podcast with Daniel Dullum: Historic Tropicana Hotel to be torn down for A’s ballpark

Tropicana Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas is expected to begin deconstruction in 2024 after the MLB owners vote to relocate the Oakland A’s to Las Vegas. The Tropicana will be cleared of debris and start building the A’s ballpark that will be completed in 2028. There are only two roadblocks that could stop the move the owners vote no in mid November or Schools over Stadiums is successful with their ballot measure to stop the public funding of the A’s ballpark. Oakland A’s relocation podcast:

#1 For the Oakland A’s their regular season ended last week but they’re future in Las Vegas is just about to get started. The A’s are waiting for the MLB owners to hold a vote in mid November to decide whether to relocate the A’s or not.

#2 The latest discussion is on the historic deconstruction of the Tropicana Hotel and Resort. The Tropicana who has been in business for 66 years will tear down it’s hotel and resort historic buildings and clear the property of debris and build the ballpark.

#3 Part of the Tropicana will be taken down and the rest will be imploded to make way for the nine acre ballpark.

#4 The A’s have architect Gensler and Bjarke Ingels Group/HNTB will be making multiple designs which A’s president David Kaval and owner John Fisher will look over and decide which rendering they will choose from.

#5 Daniel, from the prospective of the people who live in Oakland, the people who work at the Coliseum and those who have a long running history with this organization that will be a tough day once deconstruction on the Tropicana is started.

On the Sacramento Kings podcast with Jeremiah:

#1 Kings general manager Monte McNair said the Kings have a tangible success they can rely on coming off last season’s post season run.

#2 McNair was saying that head coach Mike Brown played a huge part in why the Kings had gone as far as they did and gave the Golden State Warriors a run for their money in the playoffs.

#3 McNair said the Kings fruits of their hard labor over the last three years is coming close to bare as they are getting close to being a Championship caliber team.

#4 Jeremiah how much credit does Mike Brown get for what he’s done to shape and build this team and how they showed the success and development that they became a playoff team.

#5 The Kings open the pre season in Toronto on Sunday for a 5:00pm tip off. Talk about some of the things that coach Brown will be looking for from his players as the Kings start pre season?

Sharks Fall to Kings 4-3 in OT, Preseason in SLC

The San Jose Sharks fell to the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in overtime at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Thursday. Pierre-Luc Dubois, Anze Kopitar and Trevor Moore scored for the Kings during regulation. Adrian Kempe scored the OT winner.

Pheonix Copley made 24 saves for the win. Alexander Barabanov, Mike Hoffman and Thomas Bordeleau scored for the Sharks and Mackenzie Blackwood made 33 saves in the loss.

Kings center Pierre-Luc Dubois opened the scoring at 8:27 of the first period. Kevin Fiala and Vladislav Gavrikov got the assists.

Late in the period, Carl Grundstrom was called for tripping. In the ensuing power play, Sharks winger Alexander Barabanov tied it up at 17:39. Mikael Granlund and Anthony Duclair earned the assists.

The shots were close in the first period, at 12-10 Kings. The Sharks killed their only penalty in the period and scored on one of two power plays.

Anze Kopitar gave the Kings their second lead of the game at 8:16 of the second period. Drew Doughty got an assist on the goal.

Sharks winger Mike Hoffman tied it back up at 14:45 of the period, with assists going to Tomas Hertl and goalie Mackenzie Blackwood.

The Sharks killed both of two penalties they took in the period. They had one unsuccessful power play in the final minutes of the second frame. The shots were 12-9 Sharks.

Trevor Moore gave the Kings a third lead just 3:28 into the third period. Viktor Arvidsson and Phillip Danault got the assists.

Sharks center Thomas Bordeleau tied the game for the third time at 14:15 of the period. William Eklund got the assist.

The penalties exploded in the third period, with two sets of matching double-minors, four misconducts, an interference and two unsporstmanlike conducts distributed among six players. The shot count for the period heavily favored Los Angeles, 15-5.

Adrian Kempe’s overtime winner was the only shot of the period and came just 17 seconds into the extra frame. Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty got assists.

This was the final 2023 preseason game for the Sharks. The Sharks’ next game will be October 12 at home against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights. Puck drop at 7:30 PM PT.

Oakland Roots Lose 3-1 To Orange County After Three Straight Goals

In Championship Soccer Stadium the Oakland Roots faced off against Orange County SC, who were draped in uniforms that honor the Anaheim Ducks. The final three games for Oakland before the playoffs ran through the OC tonight and the biggest thing the Roots needed was to capitalize on crucial moments. Orange County clinched their spot before the game due to the result of Hartford’s game made the energy feel less “do or die” than it did leading up to this game. 

The game ten minutes saw a major goal for the energy of the Roots as a set piece developed into a header pass from Neveal Hackshaw to Anuar Palaez for a shot to the center of the goal and the spark they needed, the Roots got early and now it was their time to capitalize on such a crucial moment.

1-0 Oakland. Orange County’s attack on Oakland consistently was strong, but couldn’t get one past Paul Blanchette in the first half it seemed. In the 40th minute Orange County had a chance on a breakaway that seemed like it was going to be the equalizer, but a foul that was not called by the ref caused a bad shot and the ball went wide of the goal and still no goals for the OC.

Orange County finally got a penalty right before stoppage time after a hard trip by Lindo Mfeka and Orange County’s Milan Iloski converted the penalty kick right past Blanchette and with four minutes of stoppage time, the game was tied 1-1.

Seconds before stoppage time was over Orange County followed up the penalty kick with a corner kick that Thomas Amang headed in for his eighth goal of the season and with the halftime whistle blown, the first half ended Orange County SC up 2-1 on Oakland. This two goal rally for Orange County is another example of what has affected Oakland all season. 

The second half started and the Roots had three shots compared to Orange County’s ten shots were a small example of the attack chances. Orange County’s assault wasn’t over as four minutes in the second half Milan Iloski’s brother Brian scored and it was clear that the Roots were outplayed.

3-1 Orange County and there was still a lot of game left. The remainder of the game was a deflated Oakland Roots trying to build some type of offense, but none of it was successful. With five minutes of stoppage time Orange County had all the momentum and all the cards were stacked in their favor at this point and when the final whistle blew the game ended with Orange County on top 3-1. 

Orange County secured their spot in the playoffs before the game, but the eighth place Oakland Roots after this loss find themselves at risk of losing that spot. Oakland’s next game is against San Diego Loyal SC in San Diego and maybe Oakland finishes their last two games still in the playoff picture.

#1 Jessica, Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Russ Francis who played six years with the 49ers and was on their 1984 Super Bowl team died in a plane accident on Sunday. Francis who with Richard McSpadden a former US Air Force Thunderbirds commander and flight leader were in a plane that crashed at Lake Placid Airport at the end of a runaway. It was reported that a power failure on the plane led to the crash.

#2 New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers isn’t giving up reportedly he’s attacking practice and rehab in trying to make a return this season. Rogers is into his third week after having Achilles tendon surgery. Rogers says he believes he could return this season. Achilles tendon surgery normally takes about one year to return to any top level athletic competition.

#3 The New York Giants center John Michael Schmitz and tight end Daniel Bellinger both got injured on a tush push in the first quarter on Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey. Schmitz wound up with shoulder injury and Bellinger a knee injury.

#4 Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones says the road to the Super Bowl goes through the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are rolling. The 49ers most recent win against the Arizona Cardinals puts them at 4-0. The Cardinals who defeated the Cowboys two weeks ago are without star quarterback Kyler Murray and struggled on offense against the 49ers last Sunday.

#5 On Tuesday the Detroit Lions Jameson Williams was thrilled to be back from his four game/one month suspension for non NFL betting. Williams was punished mobile betting from a club facility. Williams said he was not aware that it was a NFL policy and said he was not mad and said it’s rules you have to follow and that’s the main thing.

#1 The Anaheim Ducks Travis Zegras says he’s got a little catching up to do as he missed the first two weeks of training camp. Zegras was without a contract which he signed and the Ducks came to an agreement on Monday. Zegras signed on for three years.

#2 Both the Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm and forward Ryan McLeod are both out for the pre season. Ekholm is trying to recover from a hip flexor injury and McLeod has a soft tissue injury. Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft says he’s looking forward to having both players back for the regular season.

#3 The Carolina Hurricanes center Derek Stepan is retiring. Stepan 33, has played in the NHL for 13 seasons, for four teams, 890 games, and had 515 points. Stepan said after 13 seasons he’s looking forward to family and the next chapter in his life. Stepan played for  Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Ottawa Senators and Hurricanes. 

#4 Len, it was a big deal last night as the Chicago Blackhawks Connor Bedard faced off against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. Bedard has two assists, one goal and three assists. He does look small on the ice.

#5 Ty Emberson is ready to skate for the San Jose Sharks. Sharks head coach David Quinn had Emberson play on Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights. Emberson was picked up on waivers from the New York Rangers. Quentin Musty played 15:10 and plus one and was a second round draft pick.

#1 David, 49ers continue to roll now 4-0 with their latest defeat over the Arizona Cardinals at Levi Stadium on Sunday 35-16. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy 20-21, 283 yards, and one touchdown. He did get quite a lot of time in the pocket against the Cardinals.

#2 Dave, the Cardinals drop to 1-3. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs threw 28-41, 265 yards, and two touchdowns. How much do the Cardinals miss first string quarterback Kyler Murray right now?

#3 The Cardinals beat the Cowboys two weeks ago. The Cowboys are headed to Levi Stadium for Monday Night Football and are 3-1. Do you see this one as one of the 49ers toughest games coming up?

#1 Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr’s contract is up at the end of this season. Is Kerr concerned about not getting a new deal or not?

#2 Warriors brass Joe Lacob owner and Mike Dunleavy Jr general manager are working pretty hard to present Kerr with a extension, both Lacob and Dunleavy Jr is confident they’ll get a deal done with Kerr.

#3 Kerr said he’s sure that something will get worked out and Kerr also commented, “I feel great about my position here,” Kerr said while talking to the media at the Warriors media day on Monday. “I want to be here. I know Mike and Joe want me here, and so I’m very confident something will get done. But I’m not stressed about it at all. I’m perfectly capable of coaching whether I have one year left or an extension. Makes no difference.”

#4 Kerr has been together coaching stars Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson and has no plans of breaking up that old gang anytime soon.

#5 Warriors have their first pre season game this Sat Oct 7 against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center in San Francisco tip off 5:30pm PT.

Sharks Beat Golden Knights 2-0 in Preseason Match Up

The San Jose Sharks beat the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Thomas Bordeleau and Jacob MacDonald scored for the Sharks and Kaapo Kahkonen made 18 saves for the win. Vegas goaltender Adin Hill made 14 saves on 15 shots and Logan Thompson made 13 saves on 14 shots.

In a scoreless first period, the Sharks out-shot the Golden Knights 11-6. Each team took a penalty but neither power play scored.

At 6:51 of the second period, Thomas Bordeleau scored the first of the game with a snap shot. An assist went to William Eklund.

Defenseman Jacob MacDonald scored on the power play for the Sharks at 12:09. Assists went to Alexander Barabanov and Filip Zadina.

The second period shots were closer, 10-8 Sharks. Again, each team took a penalty but only the Sharks scored with the man advantage.

The third period saw several penalties, most of them from the Sharks forward Givani Smith. He took an interference penalty on Jakub Demek at 7:09. At 15:35, Brayden Pachal was called for slashing Smith, and Smith was called for high-sticking and roughing Pachal. Finally, Smith was given a misconduct. The Golden Knights took two more penalties to round out the period. The shot count was 8-4 Sharks, bringing the game tally to 29-18 Sharks.

The next Sharks preseason game will be on Thursday at 6:00 PM PT against the Kings in Los Angeles.
