#1 The San Francisco 49ers (9-4) picked up their ninth win of the 2025 season with a win over the Cleveland Browns (3-9) 26-8 at Huntington Bank Field and from the looks of it the 49ers made easy work of the Browns.

#2 The 49ers were able to score in each of the four quarters and quarterback Brock Purdy was 16-29 for 168 yards and threw for one touchdown.

#3 Up next for the 49ers they host the Tennessee Titans (1-11) in Santa Clara. The Titans are having a rough season winning one game out of 12 games for the season. The Titans lost a tough on Sunday to the Jacksonville Jaguars 25-3. The Titans are suffering from both sides of the football. How do you see this one next Sun Dec 14.

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Rich Perez:

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert threw two touchdown passes and it gave the Chargers an early leg up on the Las Vegas Raiders in a 34-14 win. With the loss the Raiders suffer their sixth consecutive set back this time at So Fi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Chargers Quentin and Ladd McConkey each had touchdowns on receptions and running back Kimani Vidal carried for a career high 126 yards. Vidal also scored on a 59 yard carry for the Chargers. The Chargers who lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week came right back and picked up their fourth win out of their last five games.

For Raiders quarterback Geno Smith went 18-23 for 165 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. For the Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert 15-20 for 151 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The Raiders didn’t execute in the first or third quarters getting shutout in each of those quarters.

The Raiders will try it all over again as they take on the Denver Broncos at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next Sun Dec 7 for a 1:05pm kick off. The Broncos previous to Raiders loss have won eight straight games and were 9-2 before their game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football.

Barracuda split series with Eagles in 4-3 win

Colorado opened up the scoring in back to back games with Jake Wise scoring his second goal of the season. They extended their lead to 2-0 when Luke Toporowksi scored his first goal this season. San Jose cut into that lead to make it 2-1 when Oliver Wahlstrom took advantage of a powerplay scoring his fifth powerplay goal of the season.

The Barracuda tied the game at two with Igor Chernysov scoring his 10th of the season. They took their first lead of the game when Quentin Musty scored his fourth powerplay goal of the season. Musty went on hat trick watch at 9:28 of the third, scoring his second goal of the night, extending their lead to 4-2. Colorado cut into that lead but it wasn’t enough, courtesy of Tristen Nielsen.

Although losing, Colorado had the upper hand for most of the game. They outshot San Jose 11 to 8 in the first period and 12 to 6 in the third period. San Jose outshot Colorado 17 to 8 in the second period. Ultimately, both teams ended up shooting 31 shots evenly.

Both teams had a chance to show their special teams in last night’s game but San Jose was the only team to capitalize and take advantage. San Jose went 3 for 6 while Colorado went 0 for 2. Quinten Musty scored two for San Jose while Igor Chernysov scored the other. After tonight’s game, San Jose is now first on the powerplay and second to last on the penalty kill.

Jakub Skarkev, who recorded the win, made 28 saves on 31 shots, allowing three goals. His record now moves to 7-2-0-1. Isak Posch, who recorded the loss, made 27 saves on 31 shots, allowing four goals. His record now moves to 8-3-1-2.

Bears Win And Celebrate: 38-35 Upset Win Over SMU Provides Respite From Somber Week

BERKELEY, CA–Lose the Big Game in embarrassing fashion, fire the coach.

For the Cal Bears, the beginning of the week wasn’t the best, and their future remains cloudy.

But on a cool Saturday evening, hundreds roared on to the turf at Memorial Stadium to celebrate an unlikely win that materialized in a dramatic finish. That’s progress the entire university desperately needed.

“It’s a tremendous credit to these kids for staying together and doing it for the right reasons,” interim coach Nick Rolovich said after Cal’s 38-35 win over visiting SMU. “The staff, I mean, that’s hard on the staff, too, when you go through this.

“And for them to stay together and understand, we can go out and play this game for the seniors, and to win it like that in the fourth quarter, that’s something that none of us will forget. We’re very appreciative of the opportunity. Just an awesome, awesome deal for Cal football.”

Without the disposed Justin Wilcox, and Rolovich in his place, the Bears produced a spirited effort that gave them 24-7 and 31-14 leads as they took advantage of a Mustangs’ offense that uncharacteristically sputtered.

But when SMU mounted a response–three unanswered fourth quarter touchdowns–the Bears came up with a game-winnibg drive culminating with Kendrick Raphael’s two-yard run with 43 seconds remaining. A brief review confirmed that like Raphael’s body, the football also crossed the goal line.

SMU’s final push of six plays for 40 yards yielded a 52-yard, potential game-tying field goal attempt for Sam Keltner put it sailed right.

Sharks Rally But Fall 4-3 to Golden Knights

The San Jose Sharks fell 4-3 to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Tomas Hertl, Colton Sissons and Mitch Marner scored for the Golden Knights. Carl Lindbom made 18 saves for the win. Will Smith and William Eklund scored for the Sharks. Alex Nedeljkovic made 20 saves in the loss.

The Sharks made it back to a one-goal game, after falling behind 4-1 in the second period. After the game, Sharks defenseman John Klingberg said: “That’s a good team over there. They’ve been good for a lot of years. I think we played with them. There was a few scenarios in the second where we got beat and that’s how we probably lost the game.”

Alex Nedeljkovic described the beginning of the game: “They were on top of us in all three zones. They really didn’t give us much time and space. They didn’t give us a chance to breathe.” In comparison, at the end of the second, he said “Finally, we played fast, we were moving away from the puck and creating our own space.”

Will Smith scored the first goal of the game at 7:04 of the first. He caught a neutral zone pass from Tyler Toffoli then skated into the zone and snapped the puck past Lindbom on the glove side.

Tomas Hertl tied the game at 16:13 with a wrist shot from the slot. Assists went to Pavel Dorofeyev and Ben Hutton.

At the end of the first, the shots were 9-7 Vegas. There were no penalties called in the first.

Vegas jumped out to the lead at 5:36. Colton Sissons poked the puck past Nedeljkovic. Assists went to
Keegan Kolesar and Cole Reinhardt.

Mitch Marner made it 3-1 less than two minutes later. Marner used a wrap-around on Nedeljkovic’s stick side. Assists went to Brett Howden and Mark Stone.

Tomas Hertl added another at 12:38 on the power play, deflecting a shot by Mitch Marner. An assist also went to Jack Eichel.

Will Smith scored his second of the game on thew power play at 14:40. With a neat little move along the boards, Macklin Celebrini knocked the puck free and Smith met it in front of the net.

With 25 seconds left in the period, William Eklund carried the puck in and scored with a backhand. Assists went to Adam Gaudette and Mario Ferraro.

In the second period, the shots were 10-9 Vegas. The Sharks took two penalties in the second and they had one power play.

A scoreless third period saw just five shots per team. A single penalty was called, at 19:25 to Brayden McNabb for cross-checking Macklin Celebrini while the Sharks played with an extra skater. A close finish but no cigar for the Sharks.

The Sharks next play on Monday back in San Jose against the Utah Mammoth at 7:00 PM PT.

Golden State defeats New Orleans Pelicans on Filipino Heritage Night, 104-96

SAN FRANCISCO – On a cool Saturday evening in San Francisco, the Golden State Warriors faced the New Orleans Pelicans at 5:30 p.m. inside Chase Center for Filipino Heritage Night. The game marks the teams’ second clash this season, with Golden State winning the previous 124-106 on November 17 at New Orleans. In the game, Warriors guard Moses Moody scored 32 points to lead his team on the road.

This also marked the return of former Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney. Looney was drafted by Golden State in 2015 and spent a decade as a fierce rebounder and versatile defender, winning championships in 2017, 2018, and 2022 while filling any role coach Steve Kerr asked of him. This summer, he agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. During his time in the Bay, the Warriors paid him tributes through video and warm welcomes from former teammates.

Golden State had to play the game without Stephen Curry. The Warriors have an offensive rating of 118.2 with him on the court and 105.2 without him. The team is prepared to play a few games without him. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had this to say about the situation. “Its a good opportunity for us to forge an identity without him… but this year were not playing well with and without him. So we have a chance to show the league what we can do with and without him.”

Quinten Post made the Warriors’ first three-pointer of the game, putting them on the board. However, that would be their only shot from beyond the arc throughout the first quarter. The long-range problems continued into the second half, with Golden State hitting only 2-for-22 from three in the first half, for a cold 9.1%. Despite their terrible outside shooting, the Warriors remained competitive by attacking in transition and creating scoring opportunities with cuts in the paint.

A major momentum shift happened midway through the second quarter when Micah Peavy of New Orleans committed a common foul on Jimmy Butler III that was reviewed and raised to a flagrant 1. Butler made the free throws, and the action shifted momentum back to Golden State. The Warriors then completed the half strongly, going 8-for-9 at the line to reclaim control.

Golden State led 42-38 at halftime, combining their defensive effort with improved ball movement to reach a rhythm late in the half. Through two quarters, the Warriors had 25 rebounds and 11 assists, led by standout performances from Gary Payton II (12 points, 5 rebounds) and Jimmy Butler III (11 points, six rebounds, five assists).

New Orleans struggled from deep as well, matching Golden State’s 9.1% outside shooting with a 1-for-11 performance from three. Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 6 points and 3 rebounds, but he received two personal fouls, limiting the impact he had.

Both teams returned from halftime with renewed energy, especially from beyond the arc. After a sluggish first half, the Warriors eventually found their shooting rhythm in the third quarter, hitting five three-pointers to spark the offense. Brandin Podziemski had a stunning stretch in the quarter, scoring ten points, while Jimmy Butler III continued his stellar performance with eight points. Golden State’s ball movement also improved significantly, with the team racking up ten assists in the third quarter as backdoor cuts and fast passes regularly broke down the Pelicans’ defense.

New Orleans answered with a surge of its own. Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 11 points in the third quarter, attacking downhill and forcing the Warriors to adjust defensively. Jeremiah Fears contributed a crucial 8 points, allowing New Orleans to keep up during the back-and-forth momentum swings.

As the game approached the final five minutes of regulation, the intensity only grew. With both teams trading baskets and defensive stops, the score drew closer and eventually tied at 87-87.

In the final stretch, Golden State took control because of brilliant offensive execution, aggressive rebounding, and accurate ball movement. Podziemski made his third three-pointer to increase the lead, and the Pelicans battled to keep up with the Warriors’ tempo. Several Warriors players finished with double-digit figures, featuring Draymond Green, who had nine rebounds and four assists, earning his only points in the final 40 seconds on a technical foul. New Orleans’ Jeremiah Fears was removed with 40 seconds left after receiving two technical fouls; he finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Golden State held on for a 104-96 victory, improving their record and showcasing the depth and adaptability that would be needed in Curry’s absence. The Warriors are now 11-10 for the season.

Golden State’s Jimmy Butler led the way with 24 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds, while Gary Payton II added 19 points and 11 rebounds, giving them each a double-double.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said this regarding the team’s early problems from deep: “If you take care of the ball, get shot on goal, it just sets the game up.. it didn’t feel that rhythmic, but it felt clean, we weren’t turning it over, the shots will start going in. We got a really good shooting team.”

Golden State held on for a 104-96 win and will now focus on its next game. The Warriors return home to face the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 2025 NBA Champions, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 8:00 PM on NBC/Peacock.

Pope Leo XIV, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, was born in Chicago on September 14, 1955. The Pope recently visited Turkey, a positive visit of religious outreach preaching Peace to the world and Christian unity. Along the way, upon his return, he received an unexpected gift.

Chris Livesay, CBS News foreign correspondent, was on assignment traveling with Pope Leo when he gifted a baseball bat to the pontiff. It was a family heirloom from Livesay. This was not any bat, but one used by White Sox legend, second baseman, and Hall of Famer Nellie Fox. “Oh, wow,” The Pope exclaimed as he received the bat featuring Fox’s initials and number. “How did you get this through security?” he then joked. Pope Leo XIV roots for the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago native has been widely reported as a White Sox fan, even sporting their cap during public appearances at the Vatican and playfully joking about the rival Chicago Cubs. Pope Leo is the first Pope to root for a baseball team in history. The late Pope Francis was a lifelong and avid fan of Futbol (Soccer here in the US).

Growing up in Argentina, Pope Francis probably had no choice since Futbol in Argentina is like a religion. Pope Leo is the first-ever American-born Pope in history and the 266th Pope. The first Pope was Saint Peter. Peter’s real name was Simon.

When he became an apostle of Jesus Christ, the founder of the Christian faith, St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Italy, is often cited as the largest Catholic Church in the world, with a greater seating and standing capacity and a greater height than any other.’

Pope Leo XIV was named Pope of the Catholic Church on May 8, 2025, at the Vatican. Here in the United States, soon after he was elected Pope, both teams, the White Sox and the Cubs, claimed he was a fan. However, he wore a White Sox cap earlier this year and rooted from the stands during World Series Game 1 in 2016; his prayers were answered as the club celebrated its first World Series championship since 1917.

But when he gets a chance, he also roots for the crosstown Cubs. I am sure that, as a good man of Chicago, he prays for both teams. “Baseball is the only sport mentioned in the Bible. “In the Big Inning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Amaury Pi-Gonzalez – Cuban-born Pi-González is one of the pioneers of Spanish-language baseball play-by-play in America. Began as Oakland A’s Spanish-language voice in 1977 ending in 2024 (interrupted by stops with the Giants, Mariners and Angels). Voice of the Golden State Warriors from 1992 through 1998. 2010 inducted in the Bay Area Radio Hall of fame.
