#1 Danil Gushchin scored two goals and had assist for the San Jose Barracuda (24-13-2-3) on Saturday for a 5-3 win over the Tucson Roadrunners (20-20-2-1).

#2 In the first period the Barracuda had a 16-8 lead on shot on goals against the Roadrunners. The Barracuda opened the first period picked up a point from Braden Hache at 10:55 that was tipped in by Filip Bystedt for his eighth goal of the season. The Roadrunners Edgor Sokolov scored at 18:08 to tie it up 1-1. San Jose’s Danil Gushchin scored his tenth goal of the season at 19:45 as the Barracuda took a 2-1 lead to end the first period.

#3 The Roadrunners Cameron Hebig scored his 17th goal of the season at 4:31 to tie it up 2-2 and Gushchin came through again for San Jose scoring his 11th goal of the season second of the game at 12:03 as the Barracuda regained the lead after two periods 3-2.

#4 In the third period the Barracuda’s Colin White scored his sixth goal at 17:38 for a 4-2 lead. Ethan Cardwell added another goal for San Jose his sixth of the year at 18:47 for a 5-2 San Jose lead and the Roadrunners Lleyton Moore would close out all the scoring at 19:58 as the Barracuda come away with a 5-3 win ending a seven game homestand.

#5 Next up the Barracuda face off against the Colorado Eagles on Tue Feb 11 for a 6:05pm PST at Blue FCU Arena in Loveland. The Eagles are second in the Pacific Division at 25-12-4-2. The Eagles have won five of their last ten games. How do you see this match up Tuesday?

#1 San Jose Barracuda goaltender (23-13-3-2) Georgi Romanov stopped 45 shots by the Henderson Silver Knights (15-27-2-0) at Tech CU in San Jose in the Barracuda loss 2-1 on Saturday.

# 2 In first period action the Silver Knights outshot the Barracuda 10-7. San Jose’s Donavon Houle scored his tenth goal of the season that beat Carl Lindbom on a forehand to backhand move.

#3 Second period action both the Knights and Barracuda each put 11 shots on net and the score remained 1-0.

#4 The Knights would tie up the game at 12:34 when the Knights Mason Morrelli scored his ninth goal of the season.

#5 The Knights would win it in a shootout after a five minute overtime draw. In the fifth round of a shootout Matyas Sapovaliv scored the only goal in the Knights come back from behind win 2-1.

#6 The Tucson Roadrunners visit Tech CU for a two game series Friday and Saturday. Tucson is eighth in the Pacific Division and have lost seven of their last ten games. How do you see this two game match up on Friday.

Cuda fall to Knights in 2-1 shootout loss

SAN JOSE- The Barracuda were looking to sweep the Henderson Silver Knights for the first time this season, coming off of a 6-2 win last night. Vitek Vanecek had a 22 saves on 24 shots night after playing in his first game since he was injured mid-December.

The Barracuda drew first blood with Donavan Houle winning a race to the puck and backhand shooting it to score his 10th of the season at 18:05. Tristen Robins and Ethan Cardwell registering the assists.

Henderson wasn’t going down without a fight, scoring at 12:43 of the third. Mason Morelli with his 3rd PPG of the season after Shakir Mukhamadullin took a 2 minute penalty for tripping. Gage Quinney and Calen Addison registering the assists.

Regulation wasn’t enough for these two teams as the game went into overtime. Overtime also wasn’t enough as the game went into a shootout. All of the players that Henderson and San Jose sent out were unsuccessful until Matyas Sapovaliv from Henderson scored to secure the win.

The Barracuda will be back in action after the all-star break next Friday on the 7th against the Tucson Roadrunners. This will be the first match-up between the two teams this season. Last season, San Jose and Tucson were head to head in a playoff spot, Tucson ultimately earning the spot. San Jose are a lifetime 41-46 against them and will be looking to extend their winning streak against them to 2.

#1 Marko, the San Jose Barracuda and the Toronto Marlies didn’t score in the first period so both team got to show off some good defense with Toronto goaltender Artur Akhtyamov and the Barracuda goalie Gabriel Carriere in net.

#2 Second period Barracuda Anthony Vincent scored the game’s first goal at 8:40 for his sixth goal of the season and Ethan Cardwell scored his fifth goal of the season at 15:05 to give San Jose a 2-0 lead.

#3 In the third period the Marlies and Barracuda traded goals. The Marlies first with Robert Mastrosimone scoring an unassisted goal his fifth of the season at 2:11, the Barracuda Danil Gushchin scored his ninth goal of the season at 3:48 it was 3-1 Barracuda. The Marlies Joseph Blandsi scored his eighth goal of the season at 6:53 to cut the lead to 3-2. The Barracuda’s Collin Graf scored his seven goal of the season at 19:24 for all the scoring in the game Barracuda 4 Marlies 2.

#4 Goaltending for Sunday for Akhtyamov stopped stopped 23 out of 26 shots for the Marlies and Carriere stopped 23 out of 25. It was a busy and tough job for both goaltenders on Sunday.

Barracuda snap losing streak in 4-3 shootout win over Coachella Valley Firebirds

SAN JOSE- Coming into Wednesday’s game, San Jose snapped their three game losing streak defeating the Coachella Valley Firebirds 4-3 at Tech CU Arena. Both Danil Guschin and Thomas Bordeleau drew back into the lineup after missing the last series. Before the game, San Jose and Anaheim made a trade sending Justin Bailey to the Ducks and Pavol Regenda to the Sharks. Regenda made his San Jose Barracuda debut Wednesday night.

Coachella got started early scoring 1:04 into the first. Logan Morrisson scored his tenth of the season, assisted by Lleyton Roed and Daniel Sprong. San Jose tied it at 12:18 after Bordeleau picked up a loose puck and passed it to Poturalski who scored his 17th of the season. Ethan Cardwell picking up the secondary assist.

San Jose took the lead at 9:40 of the second with 20 seconds left in four on four action. After a couple back-to-back passes between Jimmy Schuldt and Colin White, Schuldt scored his third of the season. Frisch registering the secondary assist after tipping the puck to Schuldt.

Coachella answered back at 14:00 when the fifth ranked powerplay took advantage of their fourth opportunity. Jani Nyman beat Dell’s left side and scored his 16th goal of the season. Nikolas Brouillard and Brandon Biro registering the assists.

26 seconds later, Coachella retook their lead when Max Lajoie scored his third of the season, Ty Nelson and Luke Henman registering the assists.

Scoring his first of the season of the season, Jack Thompson tied the game at 3-3 at 13:05 of the third. Donavan Houle and Colin White registering the assists. White with his second assist of the night.

Regulation wasn’t enough as the game went into overtime. Overtime wasn’t enough and the game went into a shootout. San Jose sent out Danil Guschin and Lucas Carlsson who made both of their shots. Dell also denied both Firebirds and San Jose walked away with the win, snapping their three game losing streak.

#1 The San Jose Barracuda opened up their game against the Abbottsford Canucks scoring the first two goals of the game by Justin Bailey at 7:06 and Andrew Poturalski at 8:53. The Canucks came right back to tie it with Nils Aman at 14:12 and Cole McWard at 17:13, 2-2.

#2 In the second period the Aatu Raty scored for the Canucks at 1:54 to get back the lead 3-2. The Barracuda tied things up at 16:51 with a goal from Luca Cagnoni making it 3-3.

#3 In the third period Ethan Cardwell would score the last Barracuda goal of the afternoon at seven seconds for a brief one goal lead 4-3. The Canucks Linus Karlsson would score at 1:19 to tie it 4-4 and the game winner came at 19:22 when the Canucks Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored for a 5-4 final.

#4 Barracuda goaltender Gabriel Carrierre saved 24 out of 29 shots allowing five goals. The Canucks goaltender Silovs Arturs saved 22 out of 26 shots and allowed four goals for the win.

#5 The Barracuda face off against the Coachella Firebirds who always give San Jose fits. The Firebirds are second in the AHL Pacific with a 21-13-1-4 record with 47 points. The Barracuda are in fifth place 20-13-1-2 with 43 points. Face off at Tech CU Wed Jan 22 is at 7:00pm PST.

Barracuda get swept by Canucks in 3-2 loss, extend losing streak to three

After almost completing the comeback last night, San Jose tried to get back in the win column and snap their two game losing streak. Danil Guschin and Thomas Bordeleau are still out of the lineup, Ethan Frisch draws back in after sitting out Saturday. The Barracuda extended their losing streak to three losing by a goal to the Canucks 3-2 in Abbottsford.

On San Jose’s first powerplay opportunity, they opened up the scoring at 7:06 of the first. Justin Bailey scored his seventh goal of the season, assisted by Andrew Poturalski and Luca Cagnoni. After a great feed by Cagnoni, Andrew Poturalski skated his way through the zone and scored his 16th goal of the season. Jack Thompson registered the secondary assist.

Barracuda penalties led to the Canucks cutting into their 2-0 lead. Nils Aman scoring his sixth of the season, Linus Karlsson and Jonathan Lekkerimaki registering the assists. Abbotsford tied the game at 17:13 when Cole McWard scored his third goal of the season. Lekkeriaki with his second assist of the night and Chase Wouters registering the secondary assist.

Starting the second period on a powerplay, Aatu Raty scored his seventh goal of the season, Tristen Nielsen and Nils Åman registering the assists.

San Jose took advantage of another power play opportunity at 16:51 when Luca Cagnoni scored his tenth goal of the season. Andrew Poturalski and Colin White registering the assists.

The Barracuda regained their lead at 00:07 of the third when Ethan Cardwell scored his fourth goal of the season. Jimmy Schuldt and Andrew Poturalski registering the assists. The Canucks tied it again at 1:19 when Linus Karlsson scored his 12th of the season. Ty Mueller and Sammy Blais registering the assists.

The Canucks sealed the win when Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored his 13th goal of the season. Aatu Raty and Arshdeep Bains registering the assists.

Barracuda fall to Canucks 3-2, extend losing streak to 2

Coming off of a 5-4 overtime loss against the Condors on January 11th, San Jose was looking to get back in the win column. In Saturday night’s game, Colin White was back into the lineup after missing nine straight games. Danil Guschin and Thomas Bordeleau was not be in the lineup. Guschin is dealing with an injury but made the trip and Bordeleau did not make the trip, illness. The Barracuda fell a goal short in Abbottsford in a 3-2 loss to the Canucks.

The Abbotsford Canucks took advantage of a Justin Bailey two minute cross-checking penalty at 17:36 of the first. Previous to this, they went 0-2 on the powerplay. ten seconds into the powerplay, Linus Karlsson scored his 11th goal of the season assisted by Erik Brännström and Nils Åman.

After a quiet start to the econd period, the Canucks extended their lead at 11:39 when Nate Smith scored his 6th goal of the season, extending his point streak to four. Tristen Nielsen and Nils Åman registering the two assists.

The Barracuda got on the board at 13:34 when Anthony Vincent picked up the rebound on a Jimmy Schuldt shot and cut into the Canucks’s lead. Jimmy Schuldt registering the lone assist.

On San Jose’s 7th powerplay opportunity, Luca Cagnoni tied the game at two, his fifth PPG of the season, snapping a nine game scoreless drought. Justin Bailey and Lucas Carlsson registering the two assists.

After Cagnoni got tripped and turned over the puck, Abbotsford regained their lead at 14:32. Nils Åman scoring his 5th goal of the season, third point of the night. Sammy Blais registering the lone assist.

#1 The San Jose Barracuda earned a point in their overtime loss to the Bakersfield Condors 5-4 at Mechanics Bank in Bakersfield on Saturday night.

#2 The Barracuda Brandon Coe scored his second goal of the season at 18:32 with assists from Joey Keane and Thomas Bordeleau to take a 1-0 lead.

#3 All the scoring took place in the second period with the Condors Jayden Grubbe scoring at 3:45, the Barracuda would answer back with three goals from Anthony Vincent at 11:02, Scott Sabourin at 11:44, and Ethan Cardwell at 16:20. with the score 3-2 the Condors would make it 4-2 when Conner Carrick at 19:25 scored.

#4 In the third period the Condors would score two unanswered goals to force overtime when Cameron Wright scored at 6:32 and at 7:28 Drake Caggiula to make it 4-4. In overtime at 2:45 the Condors Carrick scored the game winning goal for the 5-4 victory.

#5 The Barracuda are back in British Columbia for a battle with the Abbottsford Canucks Sat Jan 18th a 7:00pm PST puck drop its the first of a two game series. The Canucks are seventh in the Pacific Division at 16-15-1-1 and have won four of their last ten games. How do you see this match up this coming weekend.

Barracuda fall to Condors in overtime, splitting the series

The Barracuda kept their energy from last night with Brandon Coe scoring at 18:32 of the first. This was Coe’s first goal with San Jose after leaving for the Spengler Cup. Joey Keane and Lucas Carlsson registering the assists.

The Condors tied it early in the second at 5:07. Jayden Grubbe scored his 2nd goal of the season with Cameron Wright registering the lone assist.

San Jose retook their lead at 11:02 when Anthony Vincent scored his 4th goal of the season, unassisted. 42 seconds later, San Jose extended their lead to 2 when Scott Sabourin scored his 5th goal of the season, assisted by Jimmy Schuldt.

5 minutes later at 16:20, Ethan Cardwell extended San Jose’s lead to 4-1 when he scored his 3rd of the season, assisted by Tristen Robins. Bakersfield cut into the lead at 19:35 when Connor Carrick scored his 5th goal of the season assisted by Cameron Wright and James Hablin.

The third period was all Condors. They cut into the lead again at 6:32 when Cameron Wright scored his 7th of the season assisted by Ronnie Attard. They tied the game at 7:28 when Drake Caggiula scored his 8th goal of the season assisted by Connor Carrick and James Hablin.

Regulation wasn’t enough as these two teams had to go to overtime. The Condors walked away with the win when Connor Carrick scored his 6th of the season and 2nd of the night at 2:45 into overtime.
