The San Jose Earthquakes continued their preseason as they faced off against the Portland Timbers in Indio on Wednesday evening.
Preston Judd opened the scoring for the Earthquakes in the 20th minute.
Kristoffer Velde tied things up in the 31st minute, getting the Timbers on the board. Five minutes later, Velde scored his second of the game with a header to give the Timbers their first lead of the night.
Ousseni Bouda was shown a yellow card in the 45th minute. The Timbers then carried their lead into the second half.
Nonso Adimabua got an equalizer for the Earthquakes in the 71st minute, tying the game at 2-2. Just three minutes later, Paul Marie scored the game-winning goal for the Quakes, giving them a 3-2 lead that they’d carry to the end of regulation.
The Quakes have one preseason game remaining, as they’ll face New York City FC on Saturday in a matinee matchup.
