#1 The Panthers got a little pressure off when they won game 3 in Florida in overtime it would have been a nightmare for Vegas having to go into game 4 down 0-3 but they recovered and they could tie this thing up tonight 2-2.

#2 The Vegas Golden Knights have dominated in the first two games of this Final but the Panthers in game 3 were a determined bunch and going into that overtime they had to find a way.

On the NHL Stanley Cup Playoff podcast with Len:

#1 Len through the first two games of these Finals the Vegas Golden Knights have dominated with wins in games 1 and 2 on Vegas home ice. How important has goaltender Adin Hill been for the Knights.

#2 In the most recent game, game 2 the Vegas Golden Knights came away with a five goal win 7-2. The Knights showed all the signs of being in control from the start and the Panthers just couldn’t get any defense to stop the Knights.

#3 The Panthers who over came the odds in the first round of the playoffs overcoming the Boston Bruins from a 1-3 deficit to coming back and winning the series and winning the next two rounds to advance to the Finals can the Panthers find something deep down and pick up a win on Florida ice?

#4 The Knights who won 5-2 and 7-2 in games 1 and 2 are the first team in 25 years of NHL finals to show that no other team has been so dominate.

#5 So the Knights who have the upper hand get after it tonight in game 3 up 2-0 and can take game three or the Panthers really have to find the back of the net and often and get some great netminding from Panther goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Marko Ukalovic: Panthers need this one tonight to avoid going back to Florida 0-2; Knights with home ice can go up 2-0

Vegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone, left, celebrates his goal against the Florida Panthers with Brett Howden (21), defenseman Zach Whitecloud (2) and center Chandler Stephenson during the third period at T Mobile Center in Las Vegas on Sun Jun 4, 2023 (AP News photo)

On the NHL podcast with Marko:

#1 Marko, with just less than ten minutes left in the game and the Vegas Golden Knights trailing the Florida Panthers the Knights made good use of their last and final period of the first game of the Finals. With the game tied 2-2 the Knights came roaring back with three goals to take game 1, 5-2.

#2 The Knights Jonathan Marchessault said that the Knights were ready mentally and breaking it open like they did in the third period was a show of their character to kick off the finals.

#3 The Knights Zach Whitecloud scored a critical goal and Mark Stone got an insurance goal but the goal was reviewed for a high stick and the goal turned out to be confirmed.

#4 Marko, the Knights had scored their third and final goal when Reilly Smith scored an empty netter to make the final look like there was never a tie score.

#5 The Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 of 33 shots and allowed four goals. As you saw this first game did the Panthers just seem to loose confidence in the third period or the Knights just started working their offensive plans and pulled it off on Florida.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Len Shapiro: Panthers-Knights battle for the Cup Saturday night at T Mobile Center

Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin, center, pressures Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill (33) and defenseman Nicolas Hague (14) as a shot go wide of the net in the first period of Game 6 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Wed May 31, 2023 (AP News photo)

On the NHL Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Len:

#1 Both the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers had their shares of six game or seven game thrills this post season. For the Knights they held their own against the surging Dallas Stars who were making a comeback after being down 3-0 and making it 3-2 before the Knights came back to win game 6 to eliminate the Stars and advance to the finals.

#2 For the Florida Panthers they were on life support during the first round of this post season down 3-1 and came back eliminate the Boston Bruins 4-3. They went on to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes to advance to the NHL Finals.

#3 The Panthers in their last series with the Hurricanes swept them clean in four games 4-0, the Panthers Matthew Tkachuk had quite an offensive series scoring two goals in game four that polished off the Hurricanes 4-3.

#4 Which goaltender do you feel has the advantage going into this Final the Knights Adin Hill or the Florida Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky.

#5 So now it’s game 1 of the Finals with the puck dropping at the T Mobile Center on Saturday night as the Knights host the Panthers it’s almost a miracle that both teams are here how do you see them facing off Saturday night?

NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference podcast with Marko Ukalovic: Can Stars even series?; Knights badly want to end it tonight

Dallas Stars left wing Jason Robertson (21) celebrates after scoring against the Vegas Golden Knights during the second period of game 5 of the Western Conference Finals at the T Mobile Center in Las Vegas on Sat May 27, 2023 (AP News photo)

#1 Marko, how shocked are you that the Dallas Stars down 3-0 now are in a position to tie it up on home ice tonight in Dallas. What helped turn it around for the Stars?

#2 Taking a look at that game 4 come back by the Stars did they get rejuvenated by Joe Pavelski’s overtime goal that saved them from eliminaton.

#3 Ty Dellandrea who was a healthy scratch for the Stars got into the line up in game 5 and ended up scoring two goals that help give the Stars a two goal win over the Knights and cut Vegas’ lead by one game. Dellandrea sat for those two games but was sure motivated in game 5.

#4 Marko, if you had to point to any one thing that put the Knights behind the eight ball after dropping that overtime game 4 was it their confidence has lacked or the Stars just are getting after it more authority?

#5 Marko, the Knights are going to have to rely on their go tos for tonight’s game to find the back end of the net, Mark Stone, William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault, and Jack Eichel.

NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals podcast with Matt Harrington: Another must win game for Stars tonight in Vegas

Dallas Stars left wing Jason Robertson (21) falls to the ice after scoring against the Vegas Golden Knights, as Tyler Seguin (91), Joe Pavelski (16) and Roope Hintz (24) celebrate during the the first period of Game 4 of the NHL hockey Stanley Cup Western Conference finals Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Dallas. Golden Knights’ William Karlsson (71) skates past the celebration (AP News photo)

On the NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals:

#1 The Dallas Stars came out on Thursday with a overtime win 3-2 against the Vegas Golden Knights in Dallas. The Stars came into the contest with their backs to the wall down in the series 3-0 and got a lot of motivation to come back and avoid elimination.

#2 Matt, you got to know Joe Pavelski when he skated with the San Jose Sharks before going to the Stars he’s one player that’s been clutch and it really doesn’t surprise you that he got the game winning goal.

#3 Pavelski and Stars head coach Peter DeBoer were the crux of the Sharks back when they were in San Jose during the 2019 playoffs. It’s hard to believe that the Sharks organization let not only Pavelski and DeBoer go but they let a lot of their key players go and turned into a last place club.

#4 The Stars come in tonight down two games and know they are long odds -750 to come back and win this Western Conference. Who has the most pressure on them going into tonight Coach DeBoer, Pavelski or goaltender Jake Ottetinger.

#5 The Knights have some heavy hitters in their own right William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault, and Jack Eichel who can find the back end of the net can the Knights take game 6 on home ice or do you smell a miracle for Dallas?
