#1 Len, the Colorado Avalanche have a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals and can put about to put it away on Monday night in Edmonton.

#2 The Aves TJ Compher scored the tie breaking goal in the third period at Rogers Place in Edmonton as the Avalanche went onto win it 4-2 in game five.

#3 There hasn’t been an NHL club that has come back from being down 3-0 since the 2014 Los Angeles Kings when they won four straight against the San Jose Sharks.

#4  Ondrej Palat of the Tampa Bay Lightning scored the game winning goal to help the Bolts get by the surging New York Rangers 3-2. Palat scored with the score tied at 2-2 and 42 seconds left in the third period.

#5 The Lightning who have lots of post season experience were on the ropes going into game 3 down 2-0 made the best of home ice advantage and just came back on the Rangers with two third period goals. Steve Stamkos scored on a third period power play goal at 1:22 and Palat’s for the game winner.

#4 Mika Zibanejad scored the game winning goal for the New York Rangers as they edged the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning at Madison Square Garden in New York 3-2 this was the Rangers second straight win as they take a 2-0 series lead.

#5 The Rangers got help from goaltender Igor Shesterkin who stopped 29 shots and stopped the Lightning from getting in the net the win for the Rangers were their eighth straight win at MSG setting a team record for wins on home ice.

#1 Len, The Tampa Bay Lightning have had a good week off waiting to see if they’re going to face the New York Rangers or the Carolina Hurricanes which should be decided in game 7 on Monday in Carolina. Each game has been won by the home team in this series.

#2 The Rangers and Hurricanes dueled it out in game six and the Rangers came away with a three goal win 5-2 with Ranger goaltender Igor Shesterkin who stopped 37 shots. The Rangers Filip Chytil scored twice for the Rangers. How difficult will it be for the Rangers to win a game in Carolina or after a game like this does this build confidence.

#3 The Hurricanes have been getting some strong offense in their wins and getting key goals from Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen, and Vincent Trocheck. How important will these players be going into game 7 against the Rangers.

#4 The series that is ready to get underway is the Edmonton Oilers and the Avalanche on Tuesday night in Colorado. The Oilers just dominated and took out the Calgary Flames 4-1 and the Avalanche took out the St Louis Blues 4-2 do you see these two teams equal or one team has the ability to advance to the Finals.

#4 Rounding off Saturday night’s action the Edmonton Oilers shutout the Los Angeles Kings in game 7 in Edmonton 2-0. Oilers goalie Mike Smith stopped all 29 Kings shots for the win.

#5 The Oilers Connor McDavid and Cody Ceci scored a goal a piece both goals turned out to be critical for the Edmonton win.

# 2 The Florida Panthers advanced to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with a 4-3 overtime win over the Washington Capitals at the Capital Center. The Panthers Carter Verhaeghe scored at 2:46 in overtime for the game winning shot.

#3 The Dallas Stars defeated the Calgary Flames on Friday to tie up the series 3-3 with a 4-2 win. The Stars Joe Pavelski said that they are a confident group that can play through tight games and the Stars have been competitive in the playoffs.

#4 The Boston Bruins avoided elimination on Thursday with a win to tied up the series with the Carolina Hurricanes 3-3. Both teams meet again today for a 1:30 pm PDT puck drop.

#5 The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs face off at 4:00 pm PDT as the series is tied at 3-3.

#6 Kings-Oilers battle in Edmonton tonight at 7:00 pm PDT as this series is tied 3-3 everything on the line tonight.

#1 The Boston Bruins came into the TD Waterhouse Garden down 2-0 knowing if they’d drop Friday night’s third game they’d have their backs to the wall going into a game four down 3-0 such was not the case as he B’s saved themselves but cutting the visiting Carolina Hurricanes lead down to 2-1.

#2 Matt, talk about Boston goaltender Jeremy Swayman and how crucial was he stopping 25 shots and allowing two goals in the 4-2 win.

#3 The Bruins Brad Marchand scored a goal and had two assists and David Pastrnak and Charlie Coyle scored and had an assist for the Bruins how important were these guys in game 3.

#4 The Toronto Maple Leafs came into this game with grit playing against one of the toughest teams in the NHL the Tampa Bay Lightning in this round 1 as they came away with a three goal 5-2 win. The Leafs scored twice in the first and third periods and goaltender Jack Campbell stopped 32 shots and allowed to two goals.

#5 The Leafs now lead the Lightning 2-1 in the best of seven series. For the Bolts goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 34 shots a good number but allowed three goals. Was this game a matter of Vasilevskiy just not being on his game or was the Leafs offense just that good and had their way with the Lightning defense?

LaFleur played from 1971 to 1985 and returned to playing from 1988-91 and was a five time Stanley Cup Champion.

#2 The Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov scored his 100th point and then eclipsed it on Friday against the Seattle Kraken at the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul in a 6-3 win. Kevin Fiala set a Wild record with five assists for points in nine consecutive games.

#3 The Ottawa Senators goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 33 shots enough to hold back the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Friday night in Columbus. The Senators won in a shootout 2-1. The Sens Tim Stutzle scored the only goal in the shootout enough for Ottawa to get by Columbus.

#4 The Toronto Maple Leafs Wayne Simmonds was fined $2250 for charging the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Mikhail Sergachev at 15:21 of the third period of Thursday’s game in Tampa Bay. The money goes to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.

#5 The Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks are at SAP Center in San Jose. The Blackhawks have won two of their last 11 games, more recently winning two of their last five games. The Sharks come into tonight’s game winning one of their last 11 games.

#2 The Anaheim Ducks (28-30-12) Trevor Zegras helped end the Ducks 11 game loss streak with a sound 5-0 shutout over the Arizona Coyotes (21-42-5) at Gila River Arena in Glendale on Friday night. Zegras scored his 17th goal of the season at 9:42 in the first period. Ducks goalie Anthony Stolarz a shutout saving 22 shots.

#3 The Vegas Golden Knights (38-28-4) Jack Eichel scored twice to help the Knights pick up a three goal win over the Seattle Kraken (21-41-6) 5-2 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

#4 New York Islander (31-27-9) goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 27 shots in a 3-0 shutout over the New York Rangers (44-20-9) at Madison Square Garden in New York. It was Varlamov’s second shutout this season and his fourth straight over the Rangers at MSG.

#5 The Buffalo Sabres (25-33-11) Tage Thompson scored two times and was good enough as the Sabers edged the Nashville Predators (39-25-4) at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. The Sabers Peyton Krebs and Victor Olofsson scored a goal each in the Sabers 4-3 win.

#4 The injuries are piling up for the Vegas Golden Knights the latest have center Jack Eichel doubtful for against the Los Angeles Kings for Saturday. Eichel blocked a shot with his hand and could sit out. His teammates goaltender Robin Lehner, two defencemen Brayden McNabb and Alec Martinez and three forwards Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, and Reilly Smith are all on the injured list. Inspite of that the Knights snapped a five game losing streak with a win over the Florida Panthers 5-3 on Thursday night.
