photo from sfgate.com: Santa Clara forward Hendrik Jardersten (3) dunks the ball against Cal during the second half of Monday night’s game at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley

On the Cal Bears basketball podcast with Miguel:

#1 A big welcome to Cal (2-3) freshmen Matt Bradley and Andre Kelly. Can they get better with Bradley and Kelly in the lineup?

#2 In the Bears’ 78-66 victory at Haas Pavilion Monday night, Darius McNeill told Bears head coach Wyking Jones to let him stay in the game. Turns out there was a method to the madness as McNeil was feeding Bradley and Kelly, who helped score some important points.

#3 It was Bradley’s 13 points of the Bears 15 points in the final 6:33 of the game that pulled them away from the Santa Clara Broncos.

#4 Jones said that it was the players trust in each other and passing the ball that made a difference in this one.

#5 The Bears’ tipoff against the St. Mary’s Gales (2-5) Saturday night in Moraga with the Gales on a slide. Can the Bears take advantage of the Gales with home court advantage?

On the Oakland Raiders podcast with Tony:

#1 Tony talks about the Baltimore Ravens and their 2016 Heisman Trophy winner quarterback LaMar Jackson, who is making a lot of headway in the NFL. LaMar, before last Sunday’s game against the Raiders, had himself a career day on Nov. 18th, throwing for 71 yards, a touchdown, carried 27 times for 117 yards. Last Sunday, Jackson led the Ravens to another victory against the Raiders.

#2 Will there be a quarterback controversy in Baltimore between Jackson and Joe Flacco? That’s something that Ravens head coach John Harbaugh will have to decide, but the Ravens pounded the Raiders on offense last Sunday.

#3 Jackson, on Sunday, carried the ball 11 times and nine times in the second half.

#4 Raiders quarterback Derek Carr went 16-34 for 194 yards with a touchdown, but the Ravens defense got to Carr, sacking him three times.

#5 The Raiders, this Sunday, host the Kansas City Chiefs (9-2) a 1:05 pm kickoff at the Oakland Coliseum.

San Jose Sharks podcast with Mary Lisa Walsh: Sharks now 0-3 on current five-game road trip; Look to rebound on Saturday in Ottawa

On the San Jose Sharks podcast with Mary Lisa:

#1 You just can’t keep the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs down as both beat the San Jose Sharks on back-to-back nights Tuesday and Wednesday. The Sabers with a 3-2 win Tuesday and the Leafs with a two-goal 5-3 win Wednesday.

#2 The Sabers on Tuesday got some key scoring from Jeff Skinner, who has a streak for scoring the first goal to start a game in which turned out to be crucial in the win.

#3 The Sabers are now 25-17-6 while the Sharks dropped their second game of this road trip in Buffalo. On Wednesday San Jose dropped to 12-9-5 in Toronto–the loss was San Jose’s third straight.

#4 San Jose’s Joe Pavelski scored #14 and #15 in the third period on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he scored one goal #16 , but no matter Joe’s efforts, the Sharks have come up short.

#5 This long five-game road trip continues to Ottawa on Saturday and in Montreal Sunday as the Sharks will give it a go to salvage the trip with a couple of wins.

Headline Sports podcast with London Marq: Warriors coming back from string of losses; Fans want SF Giants owner Johnson to step down; How Foster release will impact 49ers; plus more

On the Headline Sports podcast with London:

#1 The Warriors have certainly shown they can bounce back after losing three straight, they have on three straight as they prepare to face the Raptors in Toronto.

#2 After SF Giants owner Charles Johnson donated $2700 to Mississippi Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith who won her run off on Tuesday night. Johnson had donated the funds to the Hyde-Smith campaign after she posed for a photo with a Confederate hat and a Confederate civil war era rifle. Fans and sponsors have either pulled their support and will boycott or plan to leave doing business with the Giants. The NAACP President and former San Francisco Board of Supervisor the Rev Amos Brown has said that Johnson sought his donation from the Hyde-Smith campaign and the NAACP boycott against Johnson and the Giants is over.

#3 After the release of SF 49ers linebacker Ruben Foster on Sunday the team went out and lost to Tampa Bay. Will the Foster release have an impact on this team? Foster signed with Washington some two days later after being released by the 49ers.

#4 The Sacramento Kings are trying to avoid a third straight loss this time they face the Los Angeles Clippers at Golden 1 Center on Thursday night. The Clippers are in first place in the Western Conference.

#5 The San Jose Sharks lost their third in four games on Tuesday night in Buffalo 3-2. The Sharks really got taken to the cleaners on Sunday night with a 6-0 loss in Las Vegas to the Golden Knights.

San Jose Barracuda podcast with Marko Ukalovic: Barracuda dominating in Stockton series with fourth win Tuesday; head to Stockton Saturday

On the San Jose Barracuda podcast with Marko:

#1 The SJ Barracuda scored four unanswered goals against the Stockton Heat at SAP Center in a Tuesday matinee scoring four unanswered goals to get the Cuda a 4-2 win over the Heat.

#2 The win snapped the Cuda’s two-game losing streak and moved them back on top in the Pacific Division.

#3 This victory was San Jose’s fourth victory of the season against the Heat and they know their playbook pretty well to achieve that.

#4 The Cuda got their first two goals from Jacob Middleton and Nick DeSimone and it was enough to get them past a battling Heat team who were playing desperate not to lose to San Jose.

#5 Next game up for San Jose on December 1st at Stockton. Once again, can the Barracuda dominate again?

Sacramento Kings podcast with Charlie O: Kings on two-game skid, can only hope for the best against first place Clippers Thursday night

On the Sacramento Kings podcast with Charlie O:

#1 The Sacramento Kings did face a major uphill battle in their game against Golden State on Saturday only to lose by a point 117-116 with less than a second remaining in Oakland.

#2 The Kings, the very next night Sunday, hosted the Utah Jazz, who they played in Utah last Wednesday and defeated them 119-110. In the game Sunday, the Jazz got their revenge with a huge 133-112 victory.

#3 NBA teams hate back-to-back games because like Charlie O wrote in the postgame wrap Sunday night it spells disaster and the Kings got a taste of that in the loss to Utah.

#4  The Kings got off to a 7-0 start, but it all collapsed from there and Sacramento never saw the lead again.

#5 The Los Angeles Clippers don’t make the Kings task any easier. The Clips sit at the top of the Western Conference with a 13-6 record and come to Golden 1 on Thursday night.

That’s Amaury’s News and Commentary: NAACP joins boycott against S.F. Giants and owner Johnson; Donations came after racist remark and Confederate uniform photo of Hyde-Smith

photo from cnn.com: Mississippi Senator and Republican candidate Cindy Hyde-Smith wearing Confederate hat and carrying authentic Confederate rifle from the Civil War has received two donations from San Francisco Giants majority owner Charles B Smith

On That’s Amaury’s News and Commentary podcast:

#1 San Francisco Giants majority owner Charles B Johnson is feeling the heat after his second donation to Mississippi Republican candidate Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. While Hyde-Smith leads her Democratic opponent Mike Espy by 10 points in the polls for a run off election this Friday. Johnson is feeling the heat from Giants fans for his donation to Hyde-Smith, who has made racist remarks.

#2  How much do the Giants need to cut ties with Johnson and the partners’ vote to force Johnson to sell his share to them? Johnson defended himself saying he knew nothing about Hyde-Smith being a political racist and from a legal stand point that Johnson has a legal right to donate to any candidate he deems fit.

#3 There are a number of fans who do not want to do business with the Giants some and are ready to get a refund for their season tickets or refuse to come back to AT&T Park until Johnson is out as team owner. The NAACP announced on Monday night that they have called for a boycott against the Giants.

#4 Johnson made a donation to a Mississippi candidate in the maximum of $2700 and said he didn’t know anything about Smith saying that if she was invited to a public hanging she’d want front row seats and that she wore a confederate gray uniform and had her picture taken with it on. Johnson 85 made a donation to Hyde-Smith some nine days after she made the public hanging remark.

#5 We asked Amaury if this could bring the Giants down. The Giants hold a number of heritage ethnic themes before many Giants games, but no one right now believes the Giants’ sincerity about diversity with Johnson donating money to a political bigot according to fans, the NAACP and some sports analysts.

#1 Cal has won four of their last five games and got a huge victory over the Colorado Buffaloes last Saturday.

#2 The Bears got 211 yards, not too impressive; but got 33 points and a 12 point lead good enough in the 32-21 win.

#3 With 211 yards against the Buffaloes and now with Stanford coming in this Saturday for the Big Game at Memorial Stadium. The Cardinal are coming off a win at UCLA the Bears are going to have to shore up better yardage against a team like Stanford.

#4 Head coach Justin Wilcox did say that Cal did take care of the ball.

#5 Big Game is Saturday a reschedule game from the original Nov. 17th date, which was canceled due to the camp fires in Butte County smoke. How do these two teams matchup?
