Sacramento A’s podcast Tony Harvey: Will firing the general manager turn the page?; A’s crushed 13-1 after showing Forst the door

Sacramento A’s podcast Tony Harvey:

#1 Tony the Sacramento A’s made a major move letting go of their general manager David Forst Friday before they were set the play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The news didn’t motivate the offense or defense as the A’s got clobbered 13-1.

#2 Dan Feinstein was named to be Forst’s replacement as interim general manager. Feinstien was Forst’s assistant general manager. Feinstein had been the assistant GM since 2015 or ten years and nine months. Feinstein as general manager lost his first game as general manager to the Red Sox who beat Sacramento on Friday night.

#3 While a change may not make much of difference A’s owner John Fisher made the move in firing Forst as the A’s have lost 31 of their last 35 games. The A’s with Friday’s loss have now lost nine straight games.Fisher said in a statement that it was a mutually agreed upon decision.

#4 Tony, do you think one of the decisons for the Forst firing is that there were no big moves before the trade deadline, the teams long skid, and their fall from first place in the early months of the season?

#5 The A’s on July 13th fired their pitching coach Scott Emerson at the time Emerson was fired the A’s were in the middle of a nine game losing streak. How much of difference in hindsight would it have made if the A’s hadn’t fired Emerson considering their long slide they’ve been on?

Sacramento A’s podcast Daniel Dullum: Too much MoTown Tigers sweep 3 game set from A’s

Sacramento A’s podcast Daniel Dullum:

#1 The Sacramento A’s have seen a number of their players suffering injuries that put them on the injured list one of the key players whose out of the line up Nick Kurtz sprained his thumb July 11th returned two weeks later but struggled at the plate going 1-18 in seven games and now will have to see a spcialist for his injured thumb and is headed back for the IL Monday.

#2 The Detroit Tigers swept the Athletics in a three game series on Sunday the A’s were dominated by Detroit pitching and had no run production in the 11-0 loss.

#3 A’s starter Gage Jump pitched 3.2 innings four hits and six earned runs the one thing you want to get out of your starter the low run count against the Tiger line up and Jump a first year pitcher on the A’s staff try as hard as he may allowed four runs in the top of the fourth as the Tigers took a 6-0 lead.

#4 The A’s have lost 29 of their last 36 games in a tough stretch, on this last homestand the A’s lost three out of four games to the Boston Red Sox and the three game sweep with the Tigers. The A’s in the standings are just 2.5 games over the last place Los Angeles Angels in the AL West.

#5 The A’s who played Sunday’s game in 105 degree heat in West Sacramento will head to Cincinnati to face the Reds in milder temperatures in the 80s. Starting pitchers for Sacramento RHP JT Ginn (8-6 ERA 3.46) for Cincinnati RHP Brady Singer (5-10 ERA 4.35) first pitch 3:40pm PDT on Tuesday night.

Sacramento A’s podcast Jeremiah Salmonson:

#1 The amount of runs scored by the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Sacramento A’s on Wednesday was a season high in the their 15-5 win at Chase field in Phoenix.

#2 A’s relievers just couldn’t shut down the D-Backs rallies scoring seven in the fifth and five in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

#3 A’s starter Gage Jump got lit up for eight hits and six runs in 4.2 innings of work. As a starter Jump struggled to get out of each of those early innings.

#4 Yunior Tur came into relieve Jump but also was on the other end of the Diamondbacks hitting barrage allowing five hits and eight earned runs in two third innings of pitching. That was most of the damage the A’s pitching suffered Hayden Juenger and position player Carlos Cortes settled the Diamondbacks bats down for the rest of the game as relievers.

#5 The A’s will take a much needed day off on Thursday before opening up a three game series against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis. Starting pitchers for Sacramento LHP Jacob Lopez (4-4 ERA 6.64) for Minnesota RHP Zebby Matthews (4-7 ERA 5.40) first pitch 5:10pm PDT Friday night.

Sacramento A’s podcast Tony Renteria Tue May 12, 2025:

#1 Tony the Sacramento A’s are coming off two landslide loses to the New York Yankees where they saw Aaron Judge and Ben Rice rake in both contests on Friday and Sunday.

#2 The A’s were fortunate to win on Saturday coming back from six runs behind in the fourth inning to win it 11-7 as the Yankees middle relief staff had a malfunction and the A’s took advantage of it.

#3 The A’s had a shot at getting into first place last Tuesday night against first place Seattle after winning on Monday night bringing them one game off the pace the A’s all they had to do was put the finishing touches on the M’s but that was not to be as the A’s lost the contest 5-3 and fell back two games.

#4 The A’s pitching had trouble trying to get Yankees Aaron Judge out. Judge had four hits against A’s on Sunday. Judge raised his average to .409 and to say the least made every at bat count against the struggling A’s pitching staff.

#5 Ironically after losing four out of six games on the last homestand the A’s remain just two games behind the Mariners and tied for second with the Houston Astros. The A’s need to put there shoulder into the next six games facing two tough teams the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants it all starts tonight in LA.
