Las Vegas Raiders podcast Rich Perez: Ravens return Crosby back to Raiders upon failing physical; Is Linderbaum worth the 3 year, $81 million contract?; plus more news

Las Vegas Raiders podcast Rich Perez:

#1 Baltimore Ravens return Maxx Crosby back to Raiders after failing a physical. Although the Ravens didn’t specifically say why Crosby failed the physical Crosby did have left knee surgery last season that ended his 2026 season for a torn meniscus and chances are that could be the reason for failing the physical.

#2 How could the Raiders’ reported three-year, $81 million contract with Tyler Linderbaum change the performance and stability of their offensive line next season?

#3 Why did the Raiders decide to re-sign cornerback Eric Stokes to a three-year, $30 million deal, and what does it say about their priorities in rebuilding the secondary?

#4 How does trading for Taron Johnson from the Buffalo Bills help address weaknesses in the Raiders’ defensive backfield?

#5 What role is Quay Walker expected to play in the Raiders’ defense after signing his three-year, $40.5 million contract, and how might he fit into their linebacker unit?

That’s Amaury News and Commentary: NFL-The Chicago Bears are leaving Chicago for Indiana

NFL: The Chicago Bears are leaving Chicago for Indiana

Soldier Field, Chicago’s home of the NFL Bears for a half-century, soon will be a trivia question. A last-ditch $5 billion effort to keep the team in Chicago failed, ending their time in Chicago. The Chicago Bears ownership said in a statement, “The passage of SB 27 would mark the most meaningful step forward in our stadium planning efforts to date. We are committed to completing the remaining site-specific due diligence necessary to support our vision of building a world-class stadium near Wolf Lake in Hammond, Indiana. We appreciate the leadership shown by Governor Braun, Speaker Huston, Senator Mishler, and members of the Indiana General Assembly in establishing this critical framework and path forward to deliver a premier venue for all of Chicagoland and a destination for Bears fans and visitors from across the globe.”

“We value our partnership and look forward to continuing to build our working relationship,” Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said, adding that he was “surprised” after the Bears’ shift to Indiana. Why are they moving out of Chicago? The Bears have never owned their home stadium (Wrigley Field or Soldier Field).

A new, privately developed stadium (with public infrastructure help) in Indiana allows them to control revenue streams, plus the team has long sought to leave their current, publicly owned stadium, which is considered outdated and too small compared to other NFL venues.

Some people in Chicago are fine with this move. Hammond, Indiana, which is located immediately adjacent to the Illinois state border, approximately 25-30 miles southeast of downtown Chicago. The drive typically takes about 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic.

As part of the Chicago metropolitan area, it is the only city in Indiana that directly borders Chicago. At the end, it’s all about two words: modernization and money. The Bears need a new, modern facility to generate more revenue. As they move to Hammond, Indiana, they will keep their name, the Chicago Bears.

This is common. The Washington Commanders play in Maryland; the NY Giants and NY Jets play in New Jersey; the Dallas Cowboys play in Arlington; the LA Rams and LA Chargers play in Inglewood; and the San Francisco 49ers play in Santa Clara.

As a matter of fact, nearly half of the 32 NFL teams do not play in the city they represent. However, the NFL is smart enough to keep these teams within distance of their fan bases. An exception? The Raiders, who left Oakland for Las Vegas, and that is not a “Sunday drive” over 400 miles. Another team left Oakland for Las Vegas, but they have not arrived yet, and they are not in the NFL. ]

Seattle Defense Creates Nightmare For Patriots In Super Bowl LX In Dominating Win 29-13

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (38) gets airborne over Seattle Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe (29) in the second half at Super Bowl LX in Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Sun Feb 8, 2026

By Barbara Mason

After a crazy regular season in the NFL two teams emerged as the winners of their respective conferences. Sunday afternoon Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara welcomed the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, this year’s location for Super Bowl LX. Seattle scored mostly on field goals in the first three quarters and the Patriots mustered 13 points in the fourth quarter to avoid getting shutout in the 29-13 Seahawk win.

The game was played under sapphire blue skies and at game time the temperature an expected high of 70 degrees. Absolute perfect conditions for the biggest game of the year in the NFL.

The festivities got underway with a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful” by Brandi Carlile accompanied by a cello and violin. Her performance was timeless, absolutely hauntingly breathtaking. She was followed by Charlie Puth who sang the Stars Spangled Banner. His performance was solid but it was Carlile who stole the show.

After the opening formalities it was game time as the favored Seahawks and Patriots took the field. New England was about to get a triple dose of the Seattle defense and they would be challenged to their core.

The Seahawks took a 3-0 lead into the second quarter, a 33-yd Jason Myers kick. The Seattle defense was creating havoc for the Patriots from the start of the game however New England had so far kept the Seahawks out of the end zone.

The second quarter got underway with both teams still in search of the first touchdown of the day. At 11:16 the Seahawks drove deep into New England territory but their drive stalled out and they had to settle for a second Jason Myers field goal.

This one a 39-yd attempt which was good giving the Seahawks a 6-0 lead. With 11 seconds left on the clock in the first half, Seattle kicked their third field goal of the game for a 9-0 lead. It had certainly been a crazy busy first half for Jason Myers nailing this one for 41 yards. The two teams would have extended time in the locker room at the half with the half-time show setting up and getting underway

The fans lucky enough to be in attendance witnessed one heck of a show from the global super star Bad Bunny. He was joined by fellow artists Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Bad Bunny made good on his promise to bring an unforgettable party to Levi’s; boy did he deliver. The sets were extravagantly beautiful depicting what you might see in his country Puerto Rico.

How they were able to assemble the Puerto Rican themed sets in such a short time alone was unbelievable. Bad Bunny went on to perform a 13-minute set all sung in Spanish. He brought his country’s history and culture to light amid some of his greatest hits sung with joy, hope, excitement and most of all love. It was a half-time show to remember for years to come.

As the two teams took the field to start the third quarter a battle of two defenses took center stage. The Seahawks would again call for the services of their kicker Jason Myers at 9:12. Myers sent a 41-yd kick through the uprights, his fourth field goal of the game, for a 12-0 Seattle lead.

The fourth quarter gave the fans an explosive display from both teams. The Seahawks scored their first touchdown of the game at 13:24 taking a 19-0 lead. Quarterback Sam Darnold found AJ Barner for 16 yards and the score. Seattle had been outplaying New England the entire game but that was about to change as a frenzied quarter got underway. A little over a minute later the Patriots scored their first touchdown of the game.

The New England quarterback Drake Maye who had been under attack the entire game was able to hit Mack Hollins for 35 yards putting their first points up on the scoreboard 19-7. The Seahawks sputtered in that drive but went right back to work driving downfield and setting up a fifth Jason Myers field goal taking a 22-7 lead.

At 4:27 the Seahawks nailed the game shut scoring another touchdown. It could not have ended in a more memorable way for Seattle. Uchenna Nwosu intercepted a Maye pass returning it for 45 yards and the Seahawks had a 29-7 lead with the clock winding down.

The Patriots did score a final touchdown to end the game. Drake Maye threw his second touchdown of the game, a seven-yard pass to Rhamondre Stevenson. The Seattle Seahawks were the champions of Super Bowl LX.

From start to finish this was a game to remember. The half-time show was out-of-this-world and the fourth quarter was as explosive a quarter as you could get. Seattle’s kicker Jason Myers was brilliant kicking five field goals.

Sam Darnold was solid throwing for 202 yards one touchdown and no interceptions. He was only sacked once in the game whereas New England quarterback Drake Maye was pummeled getting sacked six times. MVP for the game went to Kenneth Walker III who rushed for 135 yards and added 26 receiving yards.

Sunday night all of Seattle will be celebrating a long-awaited second Super Bowl. Once it all sinks in this team will realize the impact they made with an extraordinary defense, the best in the NFL. Sam Darnold despite all the struggles he has faced for years will relish this amazing victory and the part he played in it.

The Seattle offense and especially Cooper Kupp were amazing. Kupp has now won his second Super Bowl with two different teams. These guys will have little time to rest as they pack their bags and head south for a parade and a date with a certain mouse.

(The Super Bowl LX champs will celebrate with a parade at Disneyland Park, Anaheim on Monday February 9, 2026)

Super Bowl LX comes to the Bay Area, and so do the fans from the US and many other places in the world. For the first time ever, the Half Time Show will be all in Spanish. Superstar Bad Bunny is the star. I am not familiar with the Bunny. Although I am Hispanic, I am from a different generation, and when I want to listen to Spanish music, I prefer Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz, or many other truly legendary Spanish singers from earlier generations.

These people I mentioned (and others I did not) are truly icons of Spanish music. So, excuse me, but for me, the only bunny I like is Bugs Bunny, whose voice was dubbed by the great Mel Blanc from Brooklyn, and Bugs eating his “zanahorias” is widely known in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and other languages done at Burbank’s Warner Brothers studios.

Seems like the NFL all of a sudden discovered that the largest minority in the United States of America speaks Spanish, so their marketing brains concluded, “Hey, we better do a half-time show all in Spanish.” With all due respect to the NFL, Major League Baseball has been the leading pro sports broadcaster in Spanish-language in the US.

The NFL might be king in the US, but it’s definitely not in Latin America, where Béisbol es Rey”. Of course, the commercials are always fun because most of these companies pay around $8 million to show their products during the game, pre-and post-game, and everything else in between.

Look for an Xfinity advertisement with something to do with Jurassic Park, and of course, Budweiser is always one of the most ingenious spots for the Super Bowl. The Budweiser Clydesdales have been a staple of the Super Bowl since 1975, appearing in over 45 commercials and marking their 48th national appearance by Super Bowl LX in 2026.

They are considered an enduring, long-running tradition in the game’s advertising My Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 17, New England Patriots 10 ¡Adiós, muchachos!
