#1 Charlie wanted to ask you about something kind of fun yet very strange it’s “Players Weekend” Major League players are using bats painted like a giant pencil, lightsabers, team bats, and green colored bats. No doubt this was a marketing ploy to get fans to buy these “freaking bats” as they call them.

#2 You might remember Jacob deGrom who starred with the New York Mets, deGrom who now pitches for the Texas Rangers has been rehabbing and pitched to live hitters for the third time in recent weeks. deGrom hopes to pitch for the Rangers for the first time since June 2023.

#3 Charlie do you believe MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred’s new rule change for starting pitchers requiring them to pitch six innings with the exception if a pitcher throws over 100 pitches, gives up four or more runs or gets injured. This new rule for pitchers will be implemented starting next season. Will this put a pitcher’s health in jeopardy?

#4 Last Monday a host of cameras and photographers and broadcasters near the left field line where the Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani was throwing and playing catch with intensity. Ohtani made 71 throws with a wide legged spread apart set while the trainer using the radar gun. While it was said that Ohtani will not return as a pitcher this season and he’s been the DH he is making a attempt to return after having two elbow surgeries.

#5 The San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s play what will be their final Bay Bridge series game today at the Oakland Coliseum. #1 Oakland A’s fans have made the top headlines from coast to coast the battle cry is one word as they hand out green t shirts that say “Sell” on them. They plan to hold a reverse boycott tonight handing out the T shirts to the first 7,000 fans at the Oakland Coliseum. It’s been reported that this contest is sold out.

#2 Mauricio, after the Milwaukee Brewers were swept by the Oakland A’s in three games they have fallen from first to second and are now one game behind the Pittsburgh Pirates it has to be surprising circumstances for the Brewers who had the last place A’s come into American Family Field and sweep them in their own park.

#3 Texas Rangers pitcher Jacob deGrom who clocked pitches 99.4, 99.5, 99.7, 100.1 and 101.0. On opening day deGrom lasted just 73 pitches later he was taken out and had to have elbow surgery. deGrom has a five year $185 million deal and there could be some fear the Rangers will be on the hook for the money if deGrom is damaged goods.

#4 Mauricio, talk about three All Stars who will be making their first appearance at the mid summer classic this July first Atlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy who hitting .287, 54 hits, 12 homers and 42 RBIs, from the Tampa Bay Rays Yandy Diaz .313, 65 hits, 12 home runs, 34 RBIs, and third from the St Louis Cardinals Nolan Gorman .257, 52 hits, 15 home runs, and 46 RBIs.

#1 New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom who was out with shoulder issues was back on the mound during Monday’s game against the visiting Washington Nationals. deGrom’s hat, uniform, and under his belt was checked while he was heading back to the dugout and was cleared. This is expected to be the first of many inspections by umpires.

#2 Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Carl Nassib became the first active player to announce that he is gay. Nassib said he’s a quiet private person and that he’s coming out because as Nassib said “visibility and representation are important.”

#3 The US Supreme Court announced that college athletes will get compensation in the forms of needed materials such as transportation, computers, travel, the players at some point will be getting monetary compensation. NCAA president has order all 1100 NCAA member schools to act on compensation or he will.

#4 Amaury, lots of anti vaccine blow back the Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley said he won’t get vaccinated and said that he wants to live his life his way and he may die of Covid but he rather die actually living.

#5 The Oakland A’s are trying to put the memory of their trip to New York behind them they opened up a four game series against the Texas Rangers at the Ballpark in Arlington. The Rangers wasted no time rallying for five runs in the first inning against A’s starter Frankie Montas. Looks like the A’s have hit a rough patch again.
