#1 Tony, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has lifted the Covid 19 protocols effective today (Thursday) and that will allow Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving to play this Sunday. Without Irving in the line up for 35 home games how much did the team miss his talents as the Nets are in eighth in the Eastern Conference and hold the last and final playoff spot.

#2 The Miami Heat lost their second straight game and their were words exchanged and fingers were pointed between Heat star Jimmy Butler and Udonis Haslem on the bench and head coach Eric Spoelstra threw his clipboard down in frustration. Heat players were trying to keep the peace as the Heat lost to the Golden State Warriors in Miami on Wed Mar 23rd 118-104. In the post game press conference players expressed it was just passion and getting some frustration out from losing games.

#3 UFC star Jorge Masvidal who was booked into custody for hitting UFC rival and former friend Colby Covington at the Papi Steak Restaurant in Miami. Masvidal said in a tweet “You talk that s—, you got to back it up. That’s how my city rolls, man.” Masvidal is being charged with aggravated battery with bodily harm and criminal mischief. Covington lost a tooth was punched in the mouth and left eye.

#4 Well lower the temperature with a discussion on the sport of baseball. The Oakland A’s signed Stephen Vogt who formerly caught for the A’s and was a fan favorite not to mention a media favorite for four years 2013 to 2017. After Vogt left the A’s he caught for the Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks and Atlanta Braves. Tony what’s it going to be like having a guy like Vogt in the A’s clubhouse.

#5 Tony, the Miami Dolphins haven’t had a top ten offensive team in ten years but they have a shot at getting one now with a major deal getting the wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange of five draft picks on Wednesday. Hill’s line from the 2021 season 111 receptions for 1239 yards, was tied for ninth in touchdowns with nine. How does this improve the Dolphins offense?

#1 Tony the San Jose Sharks Tomas Hertl signed a eight year deal with the Sharks worth $65.1 million. Hertl was about to be a unrestricted free agent but Sharks General Manager Joe Will knew that the Sharks needed to get a deal done to keep their star forward.

#2 The Oakland A’s are dealing they traded Matt Chapman to the Toronto Blue Jays and the A’s are now shopping pitchers Sean Manaea and Frankie Montas. The Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees have indicated that their interested in Manaea and Montas’ services.

#3 The San Francisco Giants have picked up Joc Pederson from the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves. Pederson agreed to a $6 million one year deal. Pederson bats and throws left handed. Pederson in 2021 playing for both clubs hit .238, 18 home runs, and 61 RBIs.

#4 The Las Vegas Raiders agreed to terms with Chandler Jones who is a pass rusher. Chandler signed a three year deal worth $51 million with $34 million guarantees. Chandler’s 2021 record 10.5 sacks, 41 tackles 12 of those tackles were for a loss which six of resulted in fumbles. How big of a move and how much help will Chandler provide at pass rusher for Vegas?

#5 Finally the money just keeps growing and for Kris Bryant he signs a huge deal worth $182 million for seven years with the Colorado Rockies. Bryant played the first six years of his career with the Chicago Cubs and then moved onto the San Francisco Giants in the 2021 season and now the Rockies are his third club.

#1 Tony, talk about how this war in the Ukraine will effect professional sports now that the NBA and the NHL have cut off ties with Russia in obtaining Russian players?

#2 On the flip side who this will effect Russian players who are playing the NHL whose country who has invaded the Ukraine or players waiting to leave Russia to come to play in the NHL.

#3 Tony first two weeks of the Major League Baseball season canceled by baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred because the players declined MLB’s latest offer. The owners raised the MLB minimum from 650,000 to 700,000 but other issues the players were not agreeing to revenue sharing and player arbitration.

#4 Manfred said that the cancelation of the first two weeks of the season is a result of a “disastrous decision” of having to cancel games but the players have said that the offer did not only seem right but it didn’t earn the trust of the players.

#5 The Sacramento Kings were trounced by the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night at Smoothie King Arena 125-95 and the Pelicans Brandon Ingram led with 33 points. The Kings have dropped four of their last five games.

#1 After golfer Phil Mickelson’s remarks in his new autobiography that were actually suppose to be off the record according to Mickelson saying that the idea of a Super Golf league in Saudi Arabia would be a great idea and saying he was aware of human rights abuses in Saudi including the death of Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi who was murdered on Oct 2, 2018 by Saudi and Turkish officials in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul that he would like to join a Saudi Super golf league. After the remarks were published Mickelson’s sponsors Heineken and Amstel dropped him. Because of the heavy fall out of the remarks do you think Mickelson could lose the rest of his sponsors?

#2 Talk to the hand: The Michigan Wolverines head coach Juwan Howard has received a tsunami of coverage since his open slap to the head of the Wisconsin Cowboys assistant coach Jake Krabbenhoft after the line hand shake last Sun Feb 20th. Howard who was suspended for the rest of the season and fined $40,000. Howard will be back in front of the bench on March 9th for the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.

#3 Tony talk about former Oakland A’s pitcher Goose Gossage who said this week that he would to stuff Yankees general manager Brian Cashman in the trash bin head first for using analytics saying “it breaks my heart what happened to this game.” Gossage said he would like to punch MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred in the nose. Baseball writer Bob Nightengale wrote “what is Gossage doing these days? Nothing but burning bridges.”

#4 How much danger does baseball get into if they can’t get an agreement this Sunday and as announced by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred the beginning of the season March 31st could you see one to three weeks of the regular canceled?

#5 The Sacramento Kings after picking up Domantas Sabonis most likely will trade Richaun Holmes. If that happens Holmes would have played for the Kings for three seasons since the 2019-20 Holmes is averaging 11 points per game.

#1 The Jacksonville Jaguars have named Trevor Lawrence as their starting quarterback, Jags head coach Urban Myer made the announcement on Wednesday and Lawrence is slated to make his start on Sep 12th versus against the Houston Texans in Houston.

#2 Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has announced that Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback and he was selected over Justin Fields to start. Dalton has a lot of veteran experience but also Nagy had to measure how Dalton looked in pre season and camp as well.

#3 Sad story Tony, New York Jets defensive end Vinny Curry will miss the entire 2021 season due to a rare blood disorder and Curry had to have his spleen removed which led to complications. During the recovery process Curry developed blood clots doctors have put Curry on blood thinners and said he is not to play contact sports for three to six months and miss this season.

#4 San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that while he hasn’t decided on a starting quarterback yet there has been talk that the 49ers who are favored to win the NFC West will be going with quarterback Trey Lance. Lance in his last pre season game threw two touchdown passes and saw more time under center than starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in last Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

#5 Tony, the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Nathan Peterman has started in the first two pre season games and completed both games. This Sunday against the 49ers do you see starting quarterback Derek Carr and back up Marcus Mariota getting some time or will Peterman play most of the game?

#1 The Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is accused of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior is being investigated by the FBI. Watson also spoke to the FBI about extortion as well. Watson is being sued by different women. Can he get out of this fix?

#2 Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers who is signed for one more year under restructured contract. Rogers heart isn’t in Green Bay and most likely will leave after this season. Do you think he fits in in New England or Denver for next season.

#3 The Dallas Cowboys said they won’t use Dak Prescott until the regular season on Sep 9th. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said he wants to reserving Prescott for the regular season. He’s been injured prone how long can the Cowboys protect Prescott.

#4 The Las Vegas Raiders used quarterback Nathan Peterman who impressed Raiders head coach Jon Gruden in their last game against Seattle Seahawks who threw for 246 yards, one interception, no touchdowns and got the running backs in good position.

#5 Chicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton is trying to stay ahead of back up quarterback Justin Fields for the starting job. Dalton said this week “right now it’s my time” Dalton threw for 2-4 for 18 yards last Saturday against the Miami Dolphins. Fields threw 14-20 for 143 yards and one touchdown. #1 Former San Francisco defensive end 49ers Aldon Smith was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday due to non football related issues. Smith was trying to make the Seahawks as defensive end and had problems in the past when he played for the 49ers.

#2 Smith 31, had had alcohol and legal issues for most of his time with the 49ers. Smith had played with the 49ers from 2011-2014 and with the Oakland Raiders 2015-17. He was charged with second degree battery in Louisiana in April. The April incident took place just after the Seahawks signed Smith a NFL minimum salary agreement.

#3 New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims said that when he got food poisoning it took a big toll on him. Mims used to enjoy salmon but not anymore he got a bad batch of it and ended up getting the food poisoning and lost 20 pounds. Mims suffered from intestinal infection and it took two weeks to recover as he was on anti biotics. He was vomiting for two weeks.

#4 Tony, ever since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots the question each year has been who was going to start for the Pats. For awhile they went with Cam Newton. Head coach Bill Belichick said that it’s Newton quarterback Mac Jones has been looking great in camp and the Pats who play the Washington Football Team tonight on Thursday Night Football will be looking closely at Jones and what he can do.

#5 San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is very impressed with wide receiver Mohamed Sanu. Sanu said he’s in the best shape of his life. His numbers in nine seasons in the NFL 4,694 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns.

#1 Gymnast Simone Biles who stepped away from from gymnastics and said she would be on hand to support her teammates, Gymnast coach Andrea Orris said she was shocked about all criticism that Biles got for stepping away. Biles said her head was simply not into the games and that after the gymnastics team got silver she thought it would be better if she would step away.

#2 Biles whose been through a lot a huge success in past Olympic games was abused by team doctor Larry Nassar who is serving a life sentence for sexually abusing Biles and her teammates. Did the abuse of the past play a part in Biles stepping away from the games?

#3 US men’s golfer Collin Morikawa is ready to take his swings as the US team is looking for gold. Also participating in golf is Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama who is also looking for gold for the host country. It could be pretty competitive on the golf course in one of Japan’s favorite sports.

#4 Three on Three basketball seems to be a well watched sport and it worked well for women’s Team USA who got a first win over the Russian Olympic Committee Team 18-15. Stefanie Dolson, Allisha Gray, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young are no amateurs as as they all star in the WNBA.

#5 Tony, when you watch the games whether it’s swimming, basketball, or volleyball it’s just strange just to watch these games played in front of empty arenas or stadiums that was built intended to be filled up by fans a lot of money went into it but no tickets sold and games will go one without fans in the name of safety.

#1 Tony, 2021 Tokyo Olympics it was an event that had the Japanese populous saying it was a bad idea to even have the Olympics but here it is and the sport of softball kicked off the games on Tuesday it’s the first time softball has been back to the games in 13 years.

#2 Today the Milwaukee Bucks celebrate their championship victory in the NBA Finals over the Phoenix Suns winning four games to two with a celebration parade in downtown Milwaukee. This was the Bucks first championship since 1971.

#3 Tony, the Oakland A’s turned down the Oakland City Council’s offer of approving one of the infrastructure plans but turned down the other. The A’s said they’ll take their marbles to Las Vegas hence team president David Kaval in Vegas this week to meet with city officials about building a new park for the A’s. Was the turn down by the A’s a matter of being greedy because they wanted more out of the deal or was it a matter of being cheap not wanting to spend their own money for the other infrastructure.

#4 Tony, with the Delta Variant has spread, hospitals are filling up, an outbreak is in full effect. Are ballparks and arenas filling up without wearing masks a huge risk considering what’s going no social distancing and do you see places shutting down again?

#5 Tony, the Seattle Kraken got cracking with their first player signing of unrestricted free agent defenceman Jamie Oleksiak who played the last three seasons with the Dallas Stars. Oleksiak will get an annual salary of $4.6 million for five years. Expansion hockey has come to Seattle.

#1 Tony the Raiders are coming off one of the toughest defeats this season against the Indianapolis Colts in their last game last Sunday. The Colts got a good jump on Las Vegas early scoring ten points in each of the first and second quarters for a 20-14 half time lead.

#2 Raiders quarterback Derek Carr just couldn’t get any traction he did he one keeper for a score but 316 yards throw and only two touchdowns the Colts were just too much and Carr could only struggle under center all game long.

#3 Tony talk about the turnovers, Carr threw an interception and the other turnovers just threw Las Vegas’ game off and the Raiders never were in this one.

#4 Short turnaround the Raiders didn’t very much rest after playing last Sunday they go right back at it again tonight on Thursday Night Football that’s got to take a toll on teams with that short turnaround.

#5 The Los Angeles Chargers have won two of their last six games, they did beat the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday and the Raiders host them tonight. Which Raider team shows up tonight against the Chargers?
