#1 Former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and now head coach of the Chicago Bears Ben Johnson was noted for being a play caller as offensive coordinator but can Johnson take that experience and lead the Bears to glory for the 2025 season. Can Johnson fix the Bears who finished in dead last this season with a 5-12 record.

#2 The anticipation of former Seattle Mariner outfielder Ichiro Suzuki to get a unanimous decision for the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown fell short by one vote. The ballot that did not vote for Ichiro was left blank next to Ichiro’s name out of 393 BBWAA writers who cast ballots. No matter Ichiro will be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

#3 UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley cussed at the refs during a time out against the Butler Bulldogs on Tuesday night saying, “Don’t turn your back on me. I’m the best coach in the (expletive) sport,” said Hurley while following the ref on the floor. There is no doubt that coach Hurley coaches with emotion and passion.

#4 The Golden State Warriors continue to struggle losing six of their last 11 games, are in 11th place in the Western Conference and are battling to try to move up and get a playoff spot. The Warriors were beaten soundly on Tuesday night 125-85 by the Boston Celtics and lost again to the Sacramento Kings 123-117 on Wednesday night in Sacramento.

#5 Big NFL Championships are coming this Sunday the Washington Commanders at the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship. In the AFC Championship the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders could have the number one draft pick if they just had mailed it in on Sunday but instead decided to fight it out and beat the visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday winning by five 19-14.

#2 New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers laughed while being interviewed on the Pat McAfee show saying that Jets it would be funny if he was released by the owner Woody Johnson’s son. Rogers was making fun of the way the organization has been run “Being released would be a first; being released by a teenager, that would also be a first,” said Rogers.

#3 The very next day after the Arizona Cardinals were eliminated from the playoffs after they occupied first place in the NFC West just a month ago the Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said he accepts for most of the blame for the Cards fall “I’m not satisfied with the performance of the team, and that starts with me,” said coach Gannon “So, what I’m really saying, that’s an indictment on myself. I’m not satisfied with myself.”

#4 The injured list continues to pile up for the San Francisco 49ers as left tackle Trent Williams (left ankle), left guard Aaron Banks (right MCL) and back up tackle Jaylon Moore (quad) they will miss the remaining two games of the season. The 49ers have sank fast losing five of their last six games and were eliminated from post season on Sunday when they lost to the Miami Dolphins 29-17.

#5 Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says his ankle should be alright and he was ready to go under center on Christmas day against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mahomes said that the team hasn’t done a lot of as far as getting on the practice field saying they’ve done two walk throughs. Mahomes says he can walk around and do what he needs to do that all in all he came out pretty well.

#1 Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will be the starting quarterback after the Indianapolis Colts have benched Anthony Richardson. The Colts coaching staff met on Tuesday and decided to make the change. The decision was made after Richardson requested to come out of last Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans for one play as Richardson said he was “tired.

#2 Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson who under center leads the number one offense in the NFL. The Ravens have landed a key wide receiver from the Carolina Panthers Diontae Johnson who just needs to pass a physical. This is Johnson’s second trade this season who started the year with the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Panthers.

#3 The Wayne County prosecutors office are seeking an arrest warrant for Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams for a concealed weapons charges. Williams was carrying a weapon in a car when he was stopped by the Detroit Police on Oct 8 for a moving violation.

#4 The NBA has fined the Philadelphia 76ers $100,000 for public statements concerning the health status of Joel Embiid. The investigation showed that the 76ers did not violate the player participation policy regarding Embiid’s missed games but the Sixers made public comments that did not properly show issues with his knee.

#5 The Golden State Warriors Andrew Wiggins sat out with an injury due to a lower back strain. Wiggins was questioned whether he would play on Tuesday on Sunday Wiggins back tightened up. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that it was not one particular play that caused the back tightening up.

#1 Well Jessica if you enjoy covering former Las Vegas Raider players who are on the trade block the last 24 hours this is the coverage for you. Former Raider Amari Cooper was dealt on Tuesday to the Buffalo Bills giving the Bills a solid receiver from the Cleveland Browns. Cooper for the Browns thus far this season has 24 receptions, 250 yards, two touchdowns, and is averaging 10.4 yards.

#2 With the addition of Devante Adams at wide receiver for the New York Jets joining quarterback Aaron Rogers. Rogers said it will be the added punch the Jets need on the receiving core, “Obviously, I’m really excited,” Rodgers said, “It’s on us now. We’re going all in.”

#3 Former New England Patriot legend Tom Brady will be a minority owner for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Brady stake in the purchase was approved by the NFL owners on Tuesday. Brady played 23 seasons with the Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers combined.

#4 Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is none too happy about talk show hosts  Shan Shariff, R.J. Choppy and Bobby Belt at 105.3 The Fan. Jones was asked on the show if the lack of aggressiveness was the reason why the Cowboys were 3-3. “That’s not your job or I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions, men. No, no. I’m not kidding.” said Jones

#5 The Atlanta Falcons will host the Super Bowl LXII in 2028. It will be the fourth time Atlanta will host the Super Bowl. It’s the Atlanta’s first time since 2019.

#1 San Francisco 49ers all pro tackle Trent Williams finally ended his holdout on Tuesday finalized and reworked his deal with San Francisco signed a three year deal worth $82.66 million, $48 million is guaranteed a $25.69 million signing bonus which gives Williams $103 million in guaranteed money.

#2 New York Jets cornerback Michael Carter II is one of the top corners in the the NFL and the Jets have reciprocated signing Carter to a three year $30.75 million deal. Carter is entering his final year of his rookie contract. Carter has 50 tackles and nine pass breakups.

#3 San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said that 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall’s being shot and recovery is nothing short of a miracle. Pearsall who was shot in San Francisco’s Union Square area in a robbery attempt on Saturday night through the chest and stayed at the hospital only one night will be back in action with the team an estimated four weeks.

#4 Jessica, in the NHL, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Calgary Flames will be holding vigils for former Blue Jacket and Flames player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau. Both brothers were bicycling and struck by a drunken driver that hit them as they traveled on the side of the road last Thursday in New Jersey. The vigil will be this Wednesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

#5 The Edmonton Oilers signed one of the NHL’s key stars Leon Draisaitl to a eight year $112 million contract. Draisaitl said he wanted to be a Oiler for life. Draisaitl was entering the eighth year and final year of his contract and the Oilers wanted to lock him up before pre season gets underway.

#1 Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority are not commenting regarding the $100,000 sponsorships that the Las Vegas Aces players received. They were presented the sponsorship from Steven Hill president from the LVCVA when he spoke to the players in the dressing room on a video that took the players by surprise. There had been questions of the validity of the sponsorship if this puts the Aces over the salary cap space but the Aces head coach Becky Hammonds said that the Aces had nothing to do with the sponsorships and that the $100,000 shouldn’t go against the salary cap. The Aces are two time WNBA Champions and have brought good business in for the city of Las Vegas.

#2 The Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis is trying to return for game 4 against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night Porzingis is suffering from a soleus strain of his right calf. Porzingis has been doing exercises to improve the calf and some on court workouts.

#3 From a top notch college player from Iowa to signing with the Indiana Fever to getting some great endorsement deals Caitlin Clark signed with Wilson. Clark’s signature appears on three different Wilson basketballs  titled Threes Up, Record Breaker and Crowd Maestro.

#4 The Philadelphia Phillies Ranger Saurez continues to baffle opposing hitter striking out ten hitters over seven innings pitched and improved to 9-0 with a 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers. The win gives the Phils their 35th win of the season a big league best so far.

#5 The Celtics Jayson Tatum scored 36 points and scored ten points in overtime. Jaylen Brown tied up the game in regulation with 6.1 seconds left as the Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers in game 1 of the third round of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals 133-128 at TD Garden in Boston. Game 2 is tonight at 5:00pm at the Boston Garden.

#1 NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly presented the flip card revealing the number one draft pick and the San Jose Sharks who had the league’s worst record at 19-54-9. The Sharks are looking at Macklin Celebrini the first overall draft pick in the NHL draft.

#2 The Boston Celtics went through the Cleveland Cavaliers like butter on Tuesday night in Boston with a 25 point 120-95 win to take game 1 of the NBA second round playoffs. The Celtics got top scoring from Jaylen Brown with 32 points and Derrick White hit seven three pointers.

#3 The WNBA has committed for the next two seasons to spend $58 million for charter for the league travel as opposed to commercial flying. This would be full time charter flight service. With the arrival of Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever as the face of the league the WNBA plans on stepping it up and taking care of it’s players with charter flights that means no more standing in lines at the ticket counter, at security and with other passengers to board a flight. They’ll be treated truly like a professional team.

#4 The frustration of the Denver Nuggets is starting show. The Nuggets who lost the first two games of this second round of the playoffs to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nuggets saw team leader Jamal Murray throw a towel and then a heat pack toward an official and ended up getting fined $100,000 and was lucky he didn’t get suspended for a game. The toss came while live action was taking place with 4:41 was remaining in the second quarter.

#5 On Tuesday the Texas Rangers didn’t hold back scoring ten runs in the top of the second inning against the Oakland A’s at the Oakland Coliseum. #1 Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been charged with five misdemeanors of domestic violence charges. The charges were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court at the city attorney’s office on Monday. One count of assault and two counts of domestic battery involving a dating relationship. Urias was arrested back on Sep 3 for suspicion of felony domestic violence where eyewitnesses at LAFC MLS game saw Urias having an altercation with his wife. Urias was arrested and posted bail $50,000 the next day.

#2 Houston Astros left hand pitcher Framber Valdez was placed on those 15 day injured list due to elbow soreness. Astros manager Joe Espada said that Valdez will miss at least a couple of starts. Espada said that the club will be watching the inflammation and hopes that it will go down.

#3 Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher David Bednar a two time All Star has been struggling. Bednar a right hander blew a save opportunity on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers who rallied in a 5-3 win. After the game Pirates first baseman Randy Tellez said after blowing the lead that it’s something you just don’t do and that as a team they have to do better.

#4 Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada was helped off the field after hitting a grounder and pulled up injured and injured his hip and fell short of the first base bag. Cleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor tried to talk an comfort Moncada as he was on the ground in pain.

#5 Boston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story’s season is over after injuring his shoulder. Story will need surgery for a fractured glenoid. Baseball chief officer Craig Breslow said Story will be on the injured list for the next six weeks. Story was in a sling when he and his teammates were introduced at the pre game ceremonies.

#1 Ice Cube made a big offer to Iowa’s Caitlin Clark to play in the Big 3 league for $5 million. Ice Cube wanted to keep the offer private until the NCAA Tournament was over but since the news leaked out Cube confirmed the news,  “But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”

#2 NCAA president Charlie Baker says he’s banning prop bets that something anything can go wrong since the bet is not about the final score of the game but based on how many three pointers are converted or missed or how many free throws are converted or missed. Baker says it’s big problem and temptation that could throw games or athletes could get harassed about scoring too many or too little points, “Sports betting issues are on the rise across the country with prop bets continuing to threaten the integrity and competition and leading to student athletes and professional athletes getting harassed. The NCAA has been working with states to deal with these threats and many are responding by banning college prop bets,” Baker read in a statement.

#3 The Utah Utes women’s basketball team switched hotels from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Spokane after players, marching band members, cheerleaders were walking from a restaurant near their hotel in Coeur d’Alene. About 100 people or witnesses said two trucks with a confederate flags revving it’s engines with the drivers saying the N word to the Utes traveling party while driving by them. The traveling party felt threatened and called it a hate crime and made a police report. Authorities are looking for the suspects and plan to prosecute them for civil rights violations and hate crimes.

#4 Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes are a drawing card for a national television audience. The Hawkeyes with Clark have drawn 3.23 million viewers as the games are telecasted on ABC. The Hawkeyes played Holy Cross last Saturday and it was the highest viewed women’s game in NCAA history.

#5 The Iowa State Cyclones were eliminated by the Stanford Cardinal last Sunday in the second round of the Women’s Tournament 87-81. The Cardinal are rolling moving to the third round they face NC State on Friday night. In the game against Iowa State the Cyclones kept Cameron Brink under wraps with just eight points it was Kiki Iriafen who led with a huge 41 points for Stanford.

#1 Jessica, taking a look at the two suspects in the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade shootings two adults charged with murder two juveniles are in custody. According to court documents Lyndell Mays 22 of Raytown MO got into an argument with Dominic Miller 18 of Kansas City according to Jackson County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, Mays produced a hand gun. Almost immediately others produced hand guns and Miller produced a firearm as well and both adults are being charged with murder. Baker said it was Miller’s weapon according to the evidence struck Lisa Lopez Galvan who died at the scene. Baker said the investigation is on going and both adult suspects are being held on a $1 million bond.

#2 Jessica, the New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge said at the Yankees training camp in Tampa that his toe will need medical attention for the rest of his career. Judge last season tore a ligament in his right big toe resulting in Judge missing 42 games after colliding with the right field fence at Dodger Stadium on June 3. It was Judge’s injury that played a huge role in the Yankees falling out of contention from post season. It’s even at a point where Judge won’t even talk about his future past the 2024 season.

#3 Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said regarding Unions who are against the Washington Wizards of the NBA and the Washington Capitals of the NHL moving from DC to Norther Virginia that the Unions back tracked after they bargained in good faith to move the teams. Union workers are opposed to the move which some can’t make the move and transition to Northern Virginia due to reasons from transportation issues to just uprooting and relocating. UNITE HERE Local 25 who represents it’s workers who want the Capitals and Wizards to stay in DC has Youngkin saying “Virginia is a right-to-work state and unreasonable demands from union leaders will not derail this project. I will continue to work with the General Assembly to complete this opportunity and bring $12 billion in economic contributions that will fund shared priorities in Virginia,” It’s very possible that Youngkin, the Capitals, and the Wizards might have a tough time finding a union contractor will build the arena in Northern Virginia because unions and labor have stuck together in the past.

#4 Jessica you got a chance to cover the NHL Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford over the weekend that saw the New Jersey Devils win game 1 on Saturday over the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3. Then in game 2 the New York Rangers just edged out the New York Islanders on Sunday 6-5 in overtime. Two exciting games what was that experience like to be there for these two outdoor games hosted by the NHL.

#5 Former Chicago Cubs legendary broadcaster the late Harry Caray’s great grandson Chris Caray will become the fourth generation of Carays who will broadcast for a MLB team. Caray will call Oakland A’s games on NBC Sports California TV with play by play announcer Jenny Cavnar who became the first woman in MLB history to be lead TV announcer and color announcer and former A’s pitcher Dallas Braden will be returning. Caray did double A play by play in Amarillo for the Sod Poodles the Major League affiliate for Arizona Diamondbacks. Caray also had a journalism degree from the University of Georgia. Harry Caray was an Oakland A’s broadcaster for just one season back in 1970.

#6 The Houston Rockets owners the Fertitta Family were sad to announce on Tuesday the passing of former Rockets star Robert Reid has passed away from a long bout with cancer at age 68. Reid was instrumental helping the Rockets in their first two NBA Finals in 1980-81 and 1985-86. Reid also played for Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trailblazers, and Philadelphia 76ers. Reid died at his home in Houston on Monday.
