#1 Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has agreed to a six game suspension for a personal conduct violation policy. Rice will begin serving his suspension week 1 of the regular season. Rice will return for Oct 19’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Rice will be attending a disciplinary hearing on Sep 30th. Rice pleaded guilty in mid July on third degree felony charges in car crash that left serious bodily injuries. Rice received a sentence of five years and had his probation deferred probation and got 30 days jail as part of his probation.

#2 Jacksonville Jaguars receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter who had been dealing with upper body injury issues since Aug 14 is reportedly to be healthy and is expected to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sun Sep 7th according to Jags general manager James Gladstone. Hunter had practiced in individual practices but did not play in the last two pre season games.

#3 The New England Patriots improved on their quarterback depth chart picking up former New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito on waivers on Wednesday. The Patriots released wide receiver Kendrick Bourne after contract talks broke down. Devito was a fan favorite with Giants fans who joined the Giants as a undrafted free agent in 2023. DeVito now joins the Pats starter Drake Maye and back up quarterback Joshua Dobbs.

  #4 Adam Thielen was brought back to his native state of Minnesota and where he played most of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings. Thielen was traded from the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers will receive from the Vikings the 2026 fifth round pick, the 2027 fourth round pick. While the Vikings get Thielen, a conditional 2026 seventh round pick and a 2027 fifth round pick.

#5 The San Francisco 49ers hold out wide receiver Jauan Jennings who is requesting a contract extension or be traded but the 49ers who noted for being a very tough negotiating partner and 49ers general manager John Lynch said the team has no intention of trading Jennings. Jennings back in July left the 49ers camp on the fourth day of camp due to a calf injury and never returned. Lynch said of Jennings trade request that he had asked for it and Lynch said their not doing it and the team plans to move on.

#1 President Trump’s support of Pete Rose to get off the lifetime banned list was a factored that influenced Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred to remove Rose from the permanent ban list. This could be a pathway for Rose to get election in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Manfred also took former Chicago White Sox Shoeless Joe Jackson off the lifetime ban list and Jackson has a shot at getting into the Hall.

#2 The Boston Red Sox Ceddanne Rafaela hit the shortest walk off home run since Statcast was keeping track since 2015. The home run went just 308 feet just 24 feet short of the shortest homer of all time.

#3 Jessica, game 1 of the NBA Finals gets underway on Thursday night between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma Thunder at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are favorites but the Pacers are coming off a successful series against the New York Knicks how do you see this match up.

#4 The NHL Finals are underway between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers. Game 1 was won by Edmonton on Wednesday night 4-3 the game went into overtime and this is a rematch from last season if game 1 is an indicator of what’s to come for the rest of the series this is going to be another back and forth set of contests.

#5 Jessica what’s wrong with the Sacramento A’s they have now lost their 19th out of their last 20 games. Losing on Wednesday to the Minnesota Twins 6-1 in a three game sweep. The A’s have now lost nine straight games.

#1 As a consequence of Sunday’s brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves resulted in suspensions three for Detroit and two for Minnesota the NBA announced on Tuesday. The Pistons center Isaiah Stewart was suspended two games, teammates Marcus Sasser and Ron Holland II was suspended a game each. Minnesota’s Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid were suspended one game.

#2  The Phoenix Suns Kevin Durant sprained his ankle against the Houston Rockets on Sunday and is not expected back during the current three game road swing. The Suns began their trip on Tuesday in Miwaukee, Friday in Boston, and on Sunday against New York to close out the road trip. Durant is expected to miss a week.

#3 If things weren’t tough enough for the New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williams and guard CJ McCollum will be out for the rest of the season. Williamson has a lower back injury that he suffered on Mar 19th against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Williamson will now play less than 30 games or fewer this being the fourth time in the last six years. McCollum was injured on Mar 23. McCollum scored 40 points when he got injured and will go through a rehab program of treatment and rest said the Pelicans.

#4 The Boston Celtics set a franchise record going 6-0 on Monday with a 117-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Celtics have now won eight in a row overall and are 32-7 and are just two wins away from Golden State’s NBA record. The Celtics had that win streak record snapped getting clobbered Wednesday night 124-103.

#5 The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 27 points, 12 assists, in 27 minutes. The Thunder defeated the Chicago Bulls 145-117 on Monday night for their tenth win in a row. The Thunder are having a great season with a overall record of an impressive 63-12.
