On the Golden State Warriors podcast with Jerry Feitelberg:

#1 Golden State Warriors guard Draymond Green will be out for the rest of the pre season as he tries to recover from a lateral ankle sprain. Jerry knowing you’ve had patients who you’ve seen with this injury during your pharmacy days how long does an injury like this take to recover from?

#2 Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that Green may not even make it for opening night Tue Oct 24th vs. the Phoenix Suns.

#3 For this week Green has been given the okay by the Warriors medical team to begin light workouts, shooting drills, the Warriors say that Green will not be able to scrimmage and practice with the team yet.

#4 How much does Green’s injury play into his age at 33 and his recovery. Green like all players in the NBA eventually age and there comes a time when it could be the end of the road. In your opinion has Green reached that stage of his career.

#5 Kerr said using caution will not put Green in a five on five situation until he evaluates Green from his light workouts and shooting drills and see how the ankle does in those practices.

Golden State Warriors guard Draymond Green seen here addressing the media Sat Apr 22, 2023 at the Chase Center concerning stepping on the chest of the Sacramento Kings Domantas Sabonis during the NBA Playoffs. Green who is entering free agency is a strong possibility towards leaving Golden State for a bigger deal. (AP News file)

#2 Green is expected to decline a $27.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season. Mike Dunleavy Jr the Warriors general manager said that Green crucial to the team. Would Green have a hard time finding another deal on the open market that would be much like his player option like he has at Golden State?

#3 Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and Dunleavy made it clear on Tuesday that the Warriors can’t get their season and their dynasty started without Green who they say is their emotional leader and best defender. Green would have to take a pay cut in order to return and he had a close relationship with former general manager Bob Myers. Would you lean towards the direction that Green will leave the team?

Warriors Beat Lakers 121-106 to Stave off Elimination, Force Game 6

By: Mary Anne

Wednesday night was do-or-die for the Golden State Warriors, who hosted the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Warriors beat the Lakers 121-106 at the Chase Center.

There was star power in the building, as NBA on TNT analyst and former NBA player Baron Davis rang Wednesday’s bell ahead of Game 5. That said, Golden State was good to go.

The Warriors’ starting five featured Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II, and Draymond Green. Curry scored from downtown to get the Warriors going early in the first quarter. Curry and Green weren’t the Splash Brothers, per se, but the two were the first-quarter kings. The Warriors led 32-28 after the first quarter.

The Warriors continued to pour in the points in the second quarter. Jordan Poole took in the basket to score a layup, Andrew Wiggins provided an offensive spark, and Gary Payton II was so good in scoring in the paint. The Warriors led 70-59 at the half.

The second half saw a superb statistic. Stephen Curry passed Mark Jackson for 22nd most assists in NBA playoff history. Jackson is a former NBA player who played point guard for the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets. Jackson also served as the Warriors head coach from 2011 to 2014.

Andrew Wiggins continued to deliver his offensive energy, and the Warriors led 93-82 after three quarters.

The Warriors came in hot in the fourth quarter. Andrew Wiggins was a key offensive player from start to finish, while Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all contributed offensively.

The Warriors survived a win-or-go-home Game 5 for a 121-106 victory.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points, three rebounds, eight assists, and one block.

Andrew Wiggins recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Draymond Green scored 20 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block.

Gary Payton II had 13 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Jordan Poole had 11 points, one rebound, and four assists. Klay Thompson had 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks. Moses Moody had six points and four rebounds. Jonathan Kuminga had five points, one rebound, and one assist. Kevon Looney had four points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.

Donte DiVincenzo added two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

The Warriors head to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers in Game 6 on Friday at 7:00 pm Pacific.

Golden State Warriors podcast with Jerry Feitelberg: Kerr admits team is getting long in the tooth

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr (right) talks strategy on Nov 14, 2022 at the Chase Center in San Francisco with guard Stephen Curry (left). Kerr said in an interview this week said that this team won’t be together forever and this might be their last year. (AP News photo)

On the Warriors podcast with Jerry F:

#1 In an interview this week with NBC Sports Bay Area Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he to come to the conclusion that yes his star players are getting a little older and that might have been part of the reason why they had run into that five game losing streak.

#2 The Fearsome Foursome of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala won’t be together forever said Kerr saying this could be the last year they will be together.

#3 It’s too early to tell but the Warriors after losing those five in a row have now won three of their last five games so if they can get to the finals with this team could they come back next season?

#4 Green’s future with Golden State is doubtful and after the famous punch he threw in practice at Jordan Poole other NBA team sought his services in case the Warriors let him go, Curry’s contract runs for three more years, and Thompson’s contract expires at the end of this season.

#5 Warrior and Knicks battle at the Chase Center on Friday night the Warriors are looking for their four win in five games and the Knicks are playing .500 ball winning four of their last eight games.

Draymond Green addresses the media on Sat Oct 8, 2022 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Green made a his first appearance at a team practice Thu Oct 13, 2022 and will be in the line up against the Denver Nuggets Fri Oct 14, 2022 for a pre season game (AP News photo)

On the Warrior podcast with Jerry:

#1 Golden State Warrior Draymond Green appeared in today’s practice his first appearance since he punched teammate Jordan Poole. Green had not been suspended and this was just a cooling off period and he is expected to be in the line up on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets.

#2 Jerry, was this a matter of Green getting a slap on the wrist and getting off lightly or is this a matter of Green coming back business as usual and things have pretty much calmed down.

#3 Warrior head coach said that this is the biggest crisis he’s had since he’s been coaching the team and he emphasized the team was not perfect.

#4 Green agreed to spend some time away from the club and Green and the Warriors agreed that one week was good enough. If Green was suspended he would have possibly not returned and if he voiced his disapproval on his podcasts the Warriors may not have wanted him back.

#5 The Warriors host the Denver Nuggets Friday night at Chase Center can the Warriors focus and will they be better for it with Green’s return or will they’ll be a certain amount of dissension between Green and his teammates over what happened?

That’s Amaury News and Commentary: Drama in Warriors’ World

Drama in Warriors’ World

That’s Amaury News and Commentary

By Amaury Pi-González

All the Warriors have done recently is win four NBA titles in the last seven years. The reigning champions open their 2022-23 season at home next Tuesday October 18 against the LA Lakers. Draymond Green is slated to return this Thursday for practice and will be eligible to play this Friday against the Denver Nuggets.

Green had been away since last Wed Oct 5th after violently punching teammate Jordan Pool in the face. When Green said he will take a few days off, Coach Steve Kerr called it a “mutual decision”.

The star forward publicly apologized Saturday and said he is taking a few days away to allow the team to ‘heal’ from the incident. It seems we as a culture has become much more up-tight and we are easily offended.

My brain reminded it that back in the day (1997) when the Warriors had Spanish radio and I was doing their play by play, during a practice session in Oakland, Latrell Sprewell snapped after coach P.J Carlesimo said something like “c’mon Spre put some mustard on that pass” Sprewell attacked Carlisimo choking the coach and threatened to kill him.

It was during a practice! But we all have the potential to snap; after all we are all human. In 1997-98 season the Warriors were one of six NBA teams broadcasting all their games in Spanish, the others were Miami, LA Lakers, Houston, San Antonio and Chicago. Right after that incident I received a few requests (calls from media) not only in the Bay Area, but outside across the country, they wanted to know what happened between Sprewell and Carlisimo.

I’ve got a couple of calls from people that were not sports reporters, but regular gossip stuff, (like TMZ these days). I once read that we all have a “rage circuit” inside our brains and at any time the circuit can have a short and prompt us to act violently and sometimes in a very stupid way.

Draymond Green is an amazing player. He always seems to see the whole court as good as anybody. He has an impressive high basketball IQ. When he first came into the NBA many said he was not athletic enough to be a small forward and too small (undersized) in the paint as a power forward. Many believe he didn’t fit into any position.

The were all wrong. Veteran guard Klay Thompson said last season about his teammate. “If you can’t be yelled at by Draymond, you can’t play on the Warriors. Its kind’ve like a bylaw now.”

Golden State Warriors podcast with Jerry Feitelberg: Green punches teammate during practice drills; Thompson has mental block in practice

Golden State Warriors Draymond Green slugged teammate Jordan Poole during practice Wed Oct 5, 2022 practice. Green will be suspended by the team that could overlap into the regular season. Poole reportedly had been edgey about getting a contract extension from the team (photo from Clutch Points)

On the Warrior podcast with Jerry F:

#1 Jerry, Golden State Warriors Draymond Green known for occasionally loosing patience and being vocal threw a punch in practice at teammate Jordan Poole during practice on Wednesday. Green is subject to suspension that could overlap from the pre season to the beginning of the regular season.

#2 Jerry Green is noted for getting angry at times after this recent incident some question maybe the Warriors have kept Green too long on the team because of his outbursts and at times having anger issues his most famous when he went after former Warrior Kevin Durant during a bench argument telling him to sign a contract and commit to the team on live television that he should have been let go by the team at that time?

#3 How much of a distraction going into the regular season will this fight impact the Warriors with Green suspended to start the season?

#4 Klay Thompson had what was reported as a mental block regarding his past achilles tendon injury during practice. Warrior head coach Steve Kerr sounding very concerned in talking with the media about Thompson after practice Wednesday hopes that this is something that Thompson can overcome.

#5 Jerry, LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers are in Sunday against the Golden State Warriors. Jerry wanted to ask you about all the hoopla around Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron. Kareem said that LeBron taking the side of vaccine hesitancy was putting lives and livelihoods at risk. LeBron responded by saying in terms of his relationship with Kareem, “No thoughts and no relationship.”

On Headline Sports podcast with Bruce Magowan:

#1 Bruce, former head coach of the Miami Dolphins Brian Flores was hired over the weekend as a linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers how ironic is the hiring considering the Steelers were the founders of the Art Rooney rule?

Green’s blowup allows Hornets to steal a 102-100 win from Warriors

By Jerry Feitelberg

Hoping to get back in the win column against the host Charlotte Hornets, the Golden State Warriors saw the chance for a win go down the drain when Draymond Green could not control himself late in the game.

The Warriors led by two, 100-98, with 9.3 seconds left in the game. The Hornets forced a jump ball when they tied up Brad Wanamaker trying to make a drive to the hoop. The taller Hornets had the advantage as the ball went to Gordon Hayward. Green tied up Hayward and was expecting a whistle for another jump ball.

The referees blew the whistle. Not for the jump ball, but for a timeout called by Hornets coach James Borrego. Green went ballistic. The Warriors’ players and coaching staff tried to get him to stop yelling. He didn’t listen. He was whistled for two technical fouls, and also had to leave the game.

The Hornets’ Terry Rozier made both free throws to tie the game, and the Hornets had control of the ball. Rozier hit a jumper from the left corner just as the buzzer sounded to send the Warriors down to defeat, 102-100, at the Spectrum Center.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, “Draymond can’t do that.” Green plays with a ton of passion, and he has a fierce desire to win. He cannot let his temper get the better of him, especially in a close game.

The Warriors did not have the superstar Steph Curry in the lineup Saturday night. Curry did not feel well during warmups before the game. He was helped off the court. He tested negative for Covid-19.

Mychal Mulder started in place of Curry at guard for the Warriors. The Hornets won the first quarter, 24-15. The Warriors, as they have done a few times this season, started slowly. They picked up the second quarter’s pace as they outscored the Hornets 32-21 to finish the low-scoring first half leading 47-45.

Neither team played well in the third quarter. The Hornets were able to tie the Warriors at the end of the period 69-69. It would be a nail-biter the rest of the way. The Warriors led 100-95 with 53 seconds left. Rozier knocked down a three to make it 100-98. The Hornets, as described above, scored the last four points of the game to win 102-100.

Game Notes and Stats: With the loss, the Warriors are 16-15 for the year. The Hornets improved to 14-15.

Kelly Oubre, Jr. led the Warriors’ attack. Oubre, who has improved his overall game in the last few weeks, had 25 points, six rebounds, was 9-for-19 from the floor, and connected on four threes. Andrew Wiggins had 19, Eric Paschall had 16, while Damion Lee and Brad Wanamaker each had 14.

Terry Rozier led the Hornets with 35 points, and 20 came in the fourth quarter. Rozier was 8-for-11 from three-point range. P.J. Washington had 15, Gordon Hayward had 13, and Miles Bridges added 10. LaMelo Ball had seven points and seven assists.

Up Next: The Warriors travel to New York City, aka the Big Apple, to face the Knicks Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The Warriors will be trying to avenge New York’s loss on January 21st at the Chase Center. The game will be starting at 4:30 pm PT.
