On the Headline Sports podcast with London:

#1 Former Cal football quarterback Jared Goff had himself an evening on Monday Night Football in a razor close game against the Kansas City Chiefs a game for the ages as the LA Rams defeated the Chiefs 54-51 in the highest scoring game in MNF history. Goff passed for 413 yards, four touchdowns, and rushed for a touchdown.

#2 The Warriors, who have lost three straight games, and open a four-game homestand on Wednesday night. Is there concern about how they’ll fare as all the talk has been about the dissension on the team as to why this team is untracked?

#3 San Francisco Giants Team president Farhan Zaidi is still in his get to know you mode. Zaidi is still getting to know the players and front office staff is going through resumes and recommendation letters and emails for who he will decide to find as the new GM for the Giants.

#4 In a meeting this week during practice at the San Francisco 49ers (2-8), head coach Kyle Shanahan made it very clear to his players that their jobs were on the line and they had better get it together soon as the team prepares for their next game in Tampa Bay this Sunday after coming off a Monday Night Football loss on Nov. 12th to the New York Giants.

#5 The Oakland Raiders (2-8) lend a great deal of credit to their running backs, who carried for scores and yards, to help the Raiders in their razor close win over the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday 23-21. The two running backs of record to get some nice pats on the back Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington, who both combined for 84 yards and 20 carries in the Raiders’ win.

NCAAFB podcast with Michelle Richardson: Big Game between Cal-Stanford smoked out; Harvard running back flips bird while scoring; Meyer doesn’t look right on sidelines

On the NCAAFB podcast with Michelle:

#1 No surprises how the Big Game at Cal was called off on Saturday because the Air Quality Index was over 200 on Friday at 240. Berkeley was blanketed with smoke from the Northern California Paradise Camp Fires. Giving the Bay Area the worst air quality second to Bangladesh that was Friday. On Saturday the air quality actually improved dropping from 240 to 156 still unhealthy but breathing conditions much better. The Big Game has been rescheduled to Sat Dec 1st.

#2 Harvard running back Devin Darrington while running towards the end zone and being pursued by Yale defenders gave the bird to the nearest Yale defender before crossing the end zone. The officials disqualified the touchdown because of unsportsmanship like conduct. Harvard went onto win the game 45-27.

#3 Ohio State coach Urban Meyer’s health condition is in question after he was seen bent over hands on knees, palms pressed against his head. Meyer had surgery in 2014 for a cyst in the brain. Meyer’s doctor Dr. Andrew Thomas said that Meyer suffers from aggressive headaches. Meyer was suspended at the beginning of the season for four games when he was accused of having knowledge of former assistant coach Zach Smith had been abusing his wife and Meyer didn’t take any action to discipline Smith at the time.

By Michael Duca

BERKELEY–Infiltrated poor smokey air in Haas Pavilion canceled the Legends game between Detroit Mercy Titans and the Cal Bears on Thursday night. NCAA rules state that if the air quality exceeds 200 the NCAA recommends that the competition is canceled. Cal and Detroit Mercy are discussing plans when to reschedule the game.

Headline Sports with London Marq: Can Giants really sign Harper?; The waving of Bruce Irvine; Chinese fans love Cal basketball; Gold Gloves for the A’s Matt’s

washingtonpost.com photo: Former Washington National Bryce Harper turned down a $300 million deal from the Nats and is seeking employment elsewhere. The Giants are actively seeking Harper’s services and could strike up a deal.

#3 How big of a mistake was it for the Oakland Raiders in waving defensive end Bruce Irvin?

#4 The Cal Bears will be in Shanghai this Friday for their second game of the season against Yale on Friday. Fans in Shanghai have been flocking to see the Cal and Yale teams.
