Las Vegas Raiders podcast Tony Renteria:

#1 The Las Vegas Raiders (1-4) absolutely got ripped by the Indianapolis Colts (4-1) falling 40-6. Colts quarterback Daniel Jones had all day to throw.

#2 Jones was 20-29 for 212 yards and two touchdowns the Raiders pass rush just couldn’t get to him he got lots of protection up front.

#3 Raiders quarterback Geno Smith was running for his life against the Colts defense Smith was 25-36 for 228 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

#4 On rushing Ashton Jeanty ran 67 yards on 14 carries and on receptions Tre Tucker had four receptions for 62 yards.

#5 Up next for the Raiders the Tennessee Titans. This one is at home and the Titans have been struggling all season and had not won a game going into last Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

#1 Alijah Vera Tucker guard for the New York Jets who recently was voted team captain for the offensive unit has sustained a significant arm injury and is seeking a second opinion as it’s likely he will have surgery.

#2 The Tampa Bay Buccaneers right tackle Luke Goedeke has signed a four year $90 million contract extension $50 million of it is guaranteed money. Goedeke was a second round draft pick in 2022 and after the 2025 season was to become a free agent.

#3 Micah Parsons said that he was going to play all along for the Dallas Cowboys as opposed to what was out in social media saying that he planned to sit out the season but that rumor according to Parsons agent David Mulugheta that it was far from the truth saying “Never, I mean Micah loves the game too much. He was going to play no matter what.”

#4 The Dallas Cowboys Hunter Luepke has come to an agreement with the Cowboys signing a two year extension year deal for $7.5 million with $5 million guaranteed money. This makes Luepke the third Cowboy to get an extension that includes tight end Jake Ferguson who got $52 million for four years and cornerback DaRon Bland who received $92 million for four years.

#5 The Las Vegas Raiders has their new look team with head coach Pete Carroll, new starting quarterback Geno Smith, wide receiver Amari Cooper, running back Ashton Jeanty, and improved defense. #1 Bruce, the San Francisco 49ers made it their mission to get first round draft pick pass rusher Mykel Williams. The 49ers had their eye on Williams but pumped the brakes two seasons ago because Williams had suffered an high ankle sprain. He recovered since and 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan hope to use Williams as a key and core person on the 49ers defense.

#2 The Las Vegas Raiders made a great choice in getting running back Ashton Jeanty as their top pick in the draft. Jeanty was one of the most effective running backs in college football last season at Boise State and Raiders head coach Pete Carroll is confident that Jeanty will end up being the number one running back for the Raiders in the future.

#3 The Las Vegas Review Journal ran a headline that the Athletics still have not come up with the $1.75 billion as the A’s had said in a March 5th Las Vegas Stadium Authority meeting that the would have the money and would be ready by June to have shovels in ground. The article questions when will the A’s fund the park and there is a possibility it may not happen.

#4 The Golden State Warriors Jimmy Butler is still questionable for game 4 for Monday night against the Houston Rockets at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Butler who suffered a lower back contusion after getting his legs taken out from beneath him and missed game 3. Can Butler return and be playoff competitive Monday.

#1 Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said all along that he wanted a deep, running, heavy offense and he’s looking forward to getting that out of the Raiders top draft pick Ashton Jeanty who was at the top of this year’s class and rated one of the best players coming out of the draft.

#2 Coach Carroll expects Jeanty to be rough and ready from the jump and looks to see Jeanty’s competitiveness and Jeanty is expected to take the ball right away.

#3 Carroll and the Raiders expect to build a foundation on offense with Jeanty and tight end Brock Bowers. These two players the Raiders are considering building their future on.

#4 Jeanty at Boise State was a tough running back and was tough to bring down when covering the ball and his performance translates to future successes in the NFL. Jeanty had 126 forced tackles, the most FBS, and had 1733 yards after contact and that was 590 more any other FBS player in the 2024 season.

#5 The Raiders current depth chart at running back will have Jeanty be the number one running back. The Raiders running back will join Raiders running back Raheem Mostert, Zamir White, Sincere McCormick, and Dylan Laube.

#1 Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he’s working on some “pretty substantive trades” but did not discuss details who he’s shopping and who he’s interested in obtaining. The Cowboys want to get some quality from their current ten selections as the go through seven rounds this Thursday through Sunday at the NFL draft.

#2 Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are trying to see whose available in the trade market in the early stages of the draft. The Tennessee Titans announced they will not be accepting any offers for their first overall pick. Meanwhile the Browns have the second pick and the New York Giants have the third pick.

#3 The Tennessee Titans are going to budge on getting the No. 1 draft pick this Thursday. Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said that the Titans have got offers from other NFL teams and they will hang onto their number one draft pick.

#4 The last regular game of the NFL season was back on January 5th and after all this time the San Francisco 49ers still have not signed quarterback Brock Purdy, Purdy does not have a long term extension but he’s been working out and doing voluntary practices and exercises with the 49ers with a group of players.

#5 In this week’s draft the Las Vegas Raiders are under pressure to make the right picks. The Raiders have been suffering the last few years and hope they can right the ship. Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been named the top candidate for the Raiders first round pick. Jeanty is a Heigman Trophy finalist and he’s been compared to the Philadelphia Eagles Saquon Barkley.
