San Francisco 49ers podcast with Augie Mesenburg: Jackson was practically a one man show on Monday night

Quarterback LeMar Jackson (8) did it all for the Baltimore Ravens under center he carried, he threw and ran and it was successful against the San Francisco 49ers on Mon Dec 25, 2023 at Levi Stadium (AP News photo)

On the 49ers podcast with Augie Mesenburg:

#1 Augie, how much was this the battle of the two quarterbacks for the Baltimore Ravens LaMar Jackson he had all the time to throw the football and executed and frankly he could have kept going if the time didn’t run out on the game clock. Jackson threw 23-35, 252 yards, and two touchdowns on Monday Night Football Christmas night.

#2 For the San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy a long and tough afternoon. Purdy 18-32, 255 yards, and those four big interceptions. Is this kind of game reflective of Purdy under center or was it just an old fashion beating by the best team in the NFL.

#3 The 49ers are hoping to turn it around in their next game against the Washington Commanders in DC. The Commanders have struggled they’ve lost six straight games and their last win came against the New England Patriots 20-17 back on Nov 5th. Commanders have the home field how do you see this one on New Year’s eve?

On the 49ers podcast with J Hawkes:

#1 Joe, the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens is a late season late game on Christmas night. It’s the first time since the 1993 season that two first place teams will face off against each other in 16 weeks or later. The Cowboys and Giants met that year and were 11-4.

#3 Talk about the Ravens quarterback LaMar Jackson he has 3,105 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions how important how key has he been for the Ravens?

San Francisco 49ers podcast with David Zizmor: Kalia Davis out with ankle injury; Defense missing a number of tackles

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Kalia Davis (93) is out of the line up with an ankle injury he sustained while playing against the Arizona Cardinals on Sun Dec 17, 2023 (Eric Shaw Getty images)

On the 49ers podcast with David:

#1 San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says that has been the main issue. Shanahan said fatigue was the main issue but said it’s hurting the team. It was pointed out in last Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals the 49ers missed 16 tackles, nine players missed a tackle, and the defense missed 14 tackles previous to the Cardinals game and 12 in the Cardinals game.

# 2 Shanahan said losing defensive tackle Kalia Davis for several weeks due to a high ankle sprain put pressure at defensive tackle on the depth chart. David, do you feel that led to a number of missed tackles in the game and why Shanahan is so concerned about this area of the 49ers defense?

#3 The 49ers host the Baltimore Ravens (11-3) on Christmas for Monday Night Football at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. The 49ers (11-3) are coming in on a six game win streak. The Ravens are also on a roll they’ve won four straight coming into this game. Do you see both of these teams evenly matched coming into this one?

On the 49ers podcast with Joe Hawkes:

#1 Joe, the 49ers will try and push their win streak to six games this weekend when they face the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. San Francisco Wins Fifth in a Row at the Expense of the Seattle Seahawks 28-16

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel (19) does his thing after scoring a second half touchdown for the San Francisco 49ers against the Seattle Seahawks at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on Sun Dec 10, 2023 (AP News photo)

By Barbara Mason

Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and quarterback Brock Purdy spur the San Francisco 49ers (10-3) on to their fifth straight win beating the Seattle Seahawks (6-7) 28-16. San Francisco continues on their amazing path toward a post-season.

Sunday afternoon the 49ers welcomed the Seahawks to Levi’s Stadium. The 49ers are chasing the Philadelphia Eagles for the top seed in the National Football Conference. The Eagles play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night football and no doubt all 49er eyes will be focused in on that result. An Eagle win could give Philadelphia a 70% chance to take the number one seed. Seattle also had a lot to play for as they chase a wild card spot. This was a huge game for both teams.

Game recap: The Seahawks took a 10-7 lead in the opening quarter. San Francisco took an early 7-0 lead when Jordan Mason rushed for three yards and the first score of the game. Seattle answered when wide receiver DK Metcalf tied up the game via a 31 yard pass from Drew Lock. The Seahawks would take the lead with 56 ticks left on the clock in the first quarter. Seattle kicker Jason Myers booted a 40 yard Field Goal for a 10-7 lead.

San Francisco struck first with a Jordan Mason rushing touchdown for three yards. Seattle would answer with not only a touchdown but a field goal to end the first quarter. DK Metcalf caught a 31 yard pass from Drew Lock at 9:44. The Seahawks would end the quarter with a 40 yard field goal courtesy of Jason Myers for a 10-7 lead going into the second quarter.

San Francisco would take the lead in the second quarter 14-10. Deebo Samuel caught a 54 yard pass from Brock Purdy. The 49er defense was solid in the quarter keeping Seattle out of the end zone and off the scoreboard. San Francisco took the 14-10 lead into the locker room at the half.

Both teams scored touchdowns in the third quarter. San Francisco extended their lead in the early minutes of the quarter. Deebo Samuel found the end zone for the second time in this game via a one yard rush for a 21-10 49er lead.

The Seahawks answered with 24 seconds left in the third quarter. Lock found Colby Parkinson for 25 yards and the touchdown. Seattle attempted a two-point conversion that failed. The Seahawks still trailed 21-16 but they were still very much in this game.

The 49ers nailed the coffin shut on the Seahawks in the opening minutes of the final quarter. George Kittle caught a 44 yard pass from Purdy extending their lead to 28-16. The San Francisco 49ers defense held fast through the remainder of the fourth quarter keeping the Seahawks off the scoreboard. The final was 28-16.

This was a terrific game for quarterback Brock Purdy who threw a career-high of 368 yards and two touchdowns. With so much talent surrounding him, all Purdy has to do is get the ball in their hands and they do the rest. Wonder kid Christian McCaffrey rushed for 145 yards.

The receiving corp was on fire with Deebo Samuel finishing with 149 yards and one touchdown. Samuel also had a rushing touchdown. Brandon Alyuk had 126 receiving yards and George Kittle hit pay dirt in the fourth quarter catching a 44 yard Brock pass for the final score of 28-16.

Next Sunday the 49ers will take on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. The Cardinals are struggling with a record of 3-10 but always present a threat with quarterback Kyler Murray at the helm. San Francisco will be looking for their sixth win in a row. Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 1:05 PM.

On the 49ers podcast with Joe Hawkes:

#1 The San Francisco 49ers scored touchdowns on six straight possessions in a 42-19 blowout victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

#2 It didn’t look like it was going to be a cakewalk by San Francisco (9-3) after the opening 15 minutes. The Eagles defense held the 49ers potent offense to -6 yards in total offense.

#3 Once the second quarter got underway, so did the 49ers offense. Quarterback Brock Purdy led an 11 play 85-yard drive that accumulated with a Brandon Aiuyk two-yard touchdown reception with 7:10 left in the second quarter.

#4 Dre Greenlaw ejected from the game with 9:19 remaining in the third quarter after body slamming Davonta Smith to the ground after a 13-yard reception. Greenlaw made contact with the Eagles head of security Dom DiSandro, who was also ejected from the game. DiSandro is banned from the sidelines during this Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.

#2 Going into this game there were some doubt the 49ers could win this game but 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was pretty much able to do what he wanted to do from time to pass and to keep the football.

#3 The Seattle Seahawks come calling to Levi Stadium this Sun Dec 10. The Seahawks are 6-6 and lost their last game in a high offensive game 41-35 against the Dallas Cowboys. David how do you see the Seahawks and 49ers finishing business on Sunday.

San Francisco 49ers podcast with Joe Hawkes: Niners second chance at Eagles in NFL’s best showcase game of 2023

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (13) prepares to throw a pass against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink in Seattle on Thursday Night Football on Nov 23, 2023 (AP News photo)

On the 49ers podcast with J Hawkes:

#1 Joe over the last year since 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was injured in the NFC Championship game in Philadelphia had surgery and recovered and you look at his body of work since that time how serious is he now considered a potential Super Bowl quarterback?

#2 You’ve watched film of Purdy trying to throw under pressure. The Eagles opposing lineman finds a hole which could lead to a sack but yet and still Purdy is able to get his pass down field and in crucial times complete the passes.

#3 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has such great support from his offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and quarterbacks coach Shane Steichen. Shanahan said they have quality play calling from dropbacks, play actions, RPOs, the quarterback run game and the regular run game.

#4 The Eagles are a 10-1 team. They showed they’re a big physical team all season long and the 49ers got a look at them last season in the NFC Championship game. Do you see the Eagles as that same intimidating team or even better than last season’s team?

#5 Joe do you find this Sunday’s game in Philadelphia no doubt to be the 49ers toughest game of the season and how much is this game is a must win for San Francisco?

San Francisco 49ers podcast with David Zizmor: Eagles and Jalen Hurts stand at the top of the NFC at 10-1

He can do it all the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) seen after scoring a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in overtime at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sun Nov 26, 2023 (AP News photo)

On the San Francisco 49ers podcast with David:

#1 Dave, how difficult do you see it for the San Francisco 49ers facing the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia this Sunday. The Eagles have virtually been impossible to penetrate and can run up the score.

#2 What do you see the 49er having as their best weapons to have a chance to beat the Eagles?

#3 As you see it with 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy under center and once again the Eagles defensive line who literally did damage to Purdy and the 49ers in last season’s NFC Championship game do you see Purdy getting the protection and timing to get the ball their receivers.
