#1 Jerry, there has been rumored talk that the Warriors (3-6) Draymond Green could bring suiters although the Warriors deny rumors about dealing Green.

#2 Green has been a commodity ever since he punched teammate Jordan Poole in a practice in early October. NBA teams still have approached the Warriors. Knowing this the Warriors just very well might hang onto Green as long as he can help the team and not get the itch to punch anyone else.

#3 Green’s contract ends at the end of this season but as long as his long time championship teammates Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on the team Green may just try and reup with Golden State.

#4 The NBA is pushing the carry rule. The Warriors were whistled for three carry violations in their last game against the Detroit Pistons. Warrior head coach Steve Kerr being well aware that the league is serious about such violations has let his players know to dribble not carry the ball.

#5 Jerry, the Warriors complete their five game road trip Friday night in New Orleans against the Pelicans the Warriors are trying to pick up some wins after losing four straight to start the road trip how do you see this game in New Orleans for a 5:30 pm tip.

Kings Lose Heart Breaker To the Heat In Final Seconds 110-107

Kings Lose Heart Breaker To the Heat In Final Seconds 110-107

Wednesday night the Sacramento Kings (2-5) took on the Miami Heat (4-5). Both teams are coming off a win in their last game. The Kings handled the Hornets 115-108 and the Heat pulled off a stunner beating the Golden State Warriors 116-109. The Heat were looking for a little payback after losing to the Kings last Saturday night in Sacramento 119-113 which they got with a 110-107 win over the Kings in Miami.

The Kings played without their superstar De’Aaron Fox who is their offensive leader. There is good news in regards to the knee injury he suffered Monday night against the Hornets. The MRI that he underwent showed a bone bruise but no other structural damage. He missed tonight’s game and there is no other update as to his return.

This game was as close as a game could be. The Heat had a slim 33-32 lead after the first 12 minutes. The second quarter was another one point thriller with the Heat winning it 20-19. Miami led at the half 53-51.

This set the tone for the remainder of the game with both teams battling. The Kings won the third quarter in another one point differential 25-24. It became apparent that this game would go down to the wire.

These two teams were tied at 107 with 12.5 seconds left in regulation. With 1.8 seconds left in the game, Tyler Herro lived up to his name sinking a 27-foot shot and that was the game-winner 110-107.

It was a heart breaking loss for the Kings who fought so hard through the entire game. This game could not have been any closer. The absence of Fox really hurt but the Kings had a great game from Domantas Sabonis and Kevin Huerter both finishing with 22 points and Malik Monk had 19 points off the bench.

The Heat were missing Jimmy Butler with a hip injury. Tyler Herro had the high score for the Heat with 26 points.

Despite the loss, the Kings had a great game just coming up short. Even more discouraging was the fact that Coach Mike Brown saw Herro travel on that last play. All signs point to De’Aaron Fox’s return very soon which is great news for the Kings.

Next up for Sacramento will be the Orlando Magic on Saturday at Amway Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Miami Hands Warriors Third Loss In a Row 116-109

Tuesday evening the Golden State Warriors (3-4) took on the Miami Heat (2-5) looking to avoid a third loss in a row. Golden State needed to pay close attention to their defense in transition and also keeping the fouls to a minimum. The Heat were looking for a little payback after losing to the Warriors last Thursday 123-110 and they got it with a 116-109 win over the Warriors Tuesday.

Tuesday game recap: The first quarter showed some great defense on both sides. With three minutes left in the quarter, the Warriors had taken a slim lead 21-17 but had missed out on some great offensive opportunities. That lead disappeared and the Heat opened up a 25-21 advantage. As the clock ran out in the opening quarter the Heat conducted a nice run and closed out the first 12 minutes leading 33-24. It was a 20 to 3 run for the Heat building a nine point lead.

The Warriors continued to chip away at the Miami lead. Golden State won the second quarter 32-25 and at the half the Heat held a slim lead 58-56. After struggling on this road trip, Andrew Wiggins had a great first half with 14 points. The Warriors continued to struggle with turnovers committing ten in the first half.

Klay Thompson who did not play Sunday but on Tuesday had a productive third quarter as did Wiggins. The Warriors defense led the offense in this game and Golden State saw flashes of that championship team, that great execution the Warriors are so used to seeing but the Warriors continued to send Miami to the line giving up too many points. Heading into the fourth quarter the Warriors had built an eight point lead 94-86. The bench, Jamychal Green, Jordan Poole, James Wiseman and Moses Moody finished the final three minutes of the third.

The start of the fourth quarter was a good one for Kyle Lowry hitting a couple of three’s challenging Golden State. The Heat had 22 points off of Warrior turnovers making this game a tight one 100-97 with 8:22 left in the game. Miami went on a ten point run and took the lead 102-100 with just over six minutes left on the clock. With 5:25 left the score was tied at 104. The Heat were making some crazy shots from downtown in the fourth quarter. It went down to three minutes of crunch time in this game with the Heat leading 112-109.

The final blow for the Warriors was a lengthy review that was decided in favor of the Heat instead of three shots from the line for Warrior guard Stephen Curry. Those three shots could very well have tied up this game. With 9.5 left on the clock Jimmy Butler extended the Miami lead 114-109 and the Warriors had dropped their third game in a row.

The Warriors outshot the Heat, they made more three’s than the Heat but it was the turnovers that once again was the problem. The Warriors have not won a road game this season. Golden State simply ran into a buzzsaw with the Miami Heat. The Warriors could not close out this game, unable to buy a bucket in the final minutes of the fourth quarter

Curry finished with 23 points, Wiggins with 21 and Thompson with 19. Curry had a great game with 13 rebounds but they came up short once again. So far this season Curry has been a constant, the team looking better tonight. They absolutely got some tough breaks in this game.

Thursday night the Warriors will continue to chase their first road win of the season taking on the Orlando Magic. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.

Dynamic Davion: Mitchell leads Kings’ comeback in 115-108 win over the Hornets

Apparently Coach Mike Brown knows what he has in Davion Mitchell.

The NCAA champion from Baylor hadn’t scored in double figures in any game this season, and hadn’t seen more than 16 minutes of floor time in any of last four games.

That all changed Monday night in Charlotte.

Mitchell started fast and came up big down the stretch in the Kings’ 115-108 come-from-behind win over the Hornets.

“He brings an understanding of what his role is and embraces his role,” Brown said of Mitchell. “He’s a guy that I know anytime we call his number he is going to be ready to play.”

In reality, Mitchell may embrace his role, but it’s not quite clear what exactly that role is seven games into the new season. The 6’0″ guard wasn’t particularly effective in the season-opening loss to the Blazers and he was summarily dismissed. Not his fault, but when a team’s top two scorers are starting in front of you, and playing for a new coach, your floor time can get bypassed.

But Mitchell’s hard to miss: he finished his rookie season by scoring in double figures 14 times in the season’s final 16 games, and he made at least nine field goals in six of those 16 games. He’s a presence.

On Monday, Mitchell was front and center.

The Kings started their road trip with an ineffective first quarter as they fell behind 34-24 with the five starters combining to miss 11 of their first 14 shots.

The second quarter wasn’t much better as the Kings fell behind by 15, and De’Aaron Fox was lost for the evening after he bumped knees with another player and was removed for precautionary reasons. The Hornets shot 60 percent from the field in the opening half and appeared to be locked in as a follow up to their impressive, overtime win over the Warriors on Saturday.

The Kings seized momentum and the lead in the third as Kevin Huerter scored 12 of his team-high 26 points. Matthew Dellavedova hit a three that gave the Kings their first lead, 79-77 with 3:43 remaining, and that set the stage for the visitors’ big push in the fourth.

Mitchell hit his first three shots of the game in the first quarter to keep the Kings attached. In the fourth, Mitchell had a pair of big baskets late to help the Kings maintain a small lead they wouldn’t relinquish. He finished with 23 points on 9 of 11 shooting, and in Fox’s absence, he and Huerter combined to make 10 threes.

“We are a team that don’t quit,” Mitchell said. “We try to play 48 minutes.”

P.J. Washington led the Hornets with 28 points as one of six double-figure scorers for the hosts. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 16 points, and Dennis Smith Jr. added 15.

The Hornets were without LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Cody Martin, all due to injuries. The Hornets committed 31 fouls which lead to an impressive 24 of 28 night at the foul line for the Kings.

“We turn the ball over 21 times and foul like that, we’re not gong to win,” coach Steve Clifford said. “Every drive, we fouled.”

The Kings have a pair of wins after starting the season 0-4. They visit Miami on Wednesday in an immediate rematch of their home win over the Heat on Saturday.

#1 Barbara the Detroit Pistons had some offense going for them on Sunday as Saddiq Bey scored 28 points and Cade Cunningham fell one assist short of getting a triple double in their victory over the Golden State Warriors at Little Caser’s Palace in Detroit.

#2 How surprising was it for the Pistons who had lost five straight games to defeat a team like the Warriors who lost on a second straight night.

#3 Barbara, what would you say is one of the top reasons why the Warriors have lost four of their last six games and have fallen off in the last week like they have?

#4 Warriors Stephen Curry scored 32 and Jordan Poole had 30 points but no matter how hard the effort on Sunday in Detroit they just fell short and the Pistons offense pulled away led by Bey and Cunningham.

#5 The Warriors next opponent the Miami Heat have had just gone through the same grinder, for the Heat coming off four loses of their last six games have the home floor Tuesday night and after losing to the Warriors last Thursday the Heat with top scorers Jimmy Butler and Bam Adedayo look for an opportunity to even the score with Golden State.

Warriors Drop Another Road Game to Detroit 128-114; Pistons snap 5 game loss streak

After losing an overtime game to the Charlotte Hornets Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors (3-4) took on the Detroit Pistons (2-5) Sunday. The Hornets spent much of the game at the line Saturday night which in some part was the reason the Warriors did not win this game in regulation. In Detroit it was not much different as the Warriors lose to the Pistons 128-114 at Little Cesar’s Palace in Detroit.

Against the Pistons the Warriors will need to clean that up against one of the best teams in the league getting to the line. This will be one of only two games in which these two teams will meet.

Game recap: Unlike Sunday night the Warriors went on a 12 to 2 run in the first quarter and led 19-11 before the Pistons cut that lead to two points 19-17. The Warriors had some good looks but failed to capitalize. The main threat for Detroit was of course Bojan Bogdanovic who already had two shots from downtown.

The Pistons hung around after trailing by as much as ten points and tied up the game at 41 going on to take the lead 44-41 with six minutes left in the second quarter. Draymond Green already had three personals at halftime. The Warriors were shooting 37% to the Pistons 48%.

Detroit has a starting roster made up of some up and coming youngsters that will be amazing players down the road in fact making an impact in the first two quarters of this game. At the half the Warriors had some work to do trailing 63-55. The second quarter was a killer with the Pistons outscoring Golden State 34-18.

Two minutes into the third quarter the Warriors were trailing 74-57. The Pistons had lost five in a row and were looking to break that losing streak. Detroit continued to extend their lead at one time ahead 79-60 but Golden State came roaring back courtesy of Jordan Poole hitting four shots from downtown in the quarter.

The Warriors continued to trail deep into the fourth quarter. With three minutes left this was an eight point game in favor of Detroit. The young Piston roster was having a banner game. The Warriors were staring down another loss. They were fouling far to often and the Pistons were hitting those free throws. The final was 128-114 and Detroit had broken their losing streak.

Every starter for Detroit scored in double digits. They ran the Warriors off the three point line attacking in the second half and it paid off. Even when Jordan Poole went off in the second half, the young Detroit roster did not fold. This team doesn’t typically make three’s but they sure did Sunday with 14.

Stephen Curry had the high score with 32 points and Jordan Poole followed that up with 30 points. The bottom line is that the Warriors have a bull’s eye on their backs, they are the hunted.

This is exactly why it is so very difficult to repeat. . “It looks like a pick-up game out there,” said Steve Kerry after the game. “We’ve got to stop fouling, 38 more free throws tonight. We’re putting ourselves in some tough spots offensively and that translates into the defense,” said Kerr after the game.

Tuesday the Warriors will take on the Miami Heat after having a day off. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM. The Warriors cannot continue to fall behind by double digits on the road. They have s lot to clean up before Tuesday night.

Overcoming The Heat: Kings survive anxious moments to capture first win, 119-113 over Miami

SACRAMENTO–Jimmy Butler’s dunk and ensuing free throw with 6:15 remaining had Kings’ fans feeling creepy, and not in a festive, Halloween type of a way.

More like a take off your costume and head home feeling, Golden 1 Center grew tense and weary with the Kings clinging to a 101-100 advantage after leading by 22 points at the half.

Nightmare on L Street? Could have been had not Kevin Huerter and rookie Keegan Murray stepped up with some big baskets to cool the Heat.

The pair combined for 11 of Sacramento’s final 18 points and the Kings reversed their fortunes in a 119-113 win on Saturday afternoon.

“They came in with desperation,” said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra of the Kings. “They wanted to get that first win.”

Coach Mike Brown exhaled the deepest. His high-energy coaching, seven years experience as an NBA head coach, and four NBA titles as an assistant weren’t going to wear well in an 0-5 start to his tenure in Sacramento. Instead, he was afforded a business-as-usual approach afterwards.

“Doesn’t matter when it comes,” Brown said of his initial win. “Hopefully we can have some carryover going on this road trip.”

The Kings held a lead in the final two minutes on opening night against Portland and couldn’t hold it. A two-point loss to the Clippers and a five-point loss to the Warriors weren’t any easier to digest. Their most recent loss to Memphis brought grumblings that a team thought to be the NBA’s most improved might not be improved at all.

With a win, they have their confidence reinforced.

“It’s big to get the first one,” Huerter said. “Any time you start a year, you get your first win, it’s kind of a big relief. We’ve worked hard, as hard as any other team in training camp. It’s been a long road up to this point. The first four games of the season, we felt like we had opportunities to win. We just couldn’t close the deal.”

The Kings shot 59 percent from the floor in the first quarter and upped that to 63 percent at the half as the Heat’s defense was uncharacteristically absent. That created a 71-49 at halftime that got dismantled in the third.

Domantas Sabonis put up all 18 of his points before halftime, and two quick fouls to start the third quarter. The Kings center fouled out with the game in the balance and less than six minutes remaining in the fourth. But Richaun Holmes came on for Sabonis, and the Kings steadied. That’s when the Heat appeared to run out of gas, a residual effect of their first half struggles.

“We didn’t match that intensity in the first half,” Kyle Lowry said. “They dominated the paint in the first half. We didn’t get back well enough early in the game. They were pushing every time we scored. You could hear their coach saying, Go! Go! Go!”

Huerter led the Kings with 27 points, Murray added 22, and De’Aaron Fox came up gritty with 17 points, 13 rebounds.

The Kings are in Charlotte on Monday to face the Hornets, kicking off a four-game road trip.

Warriors Fall to the Hornets In Overtime 120-113

Saturday evening the Golden State Warriors (3-3) took on the Charlotte Hornets (3-3) and took their third loss 120-113. Friday night the Hornets were soundly beaten by the Orlando Magic 113-93. Golden State was last on the court Thursday against the Magic winning that contest 123-110.

At the end of the first quarter the Warriors were overwhelmed trailing 34-23. After the loss yesterday, the Hornets were an angry bunch and they took it out on the Warriors. After the second quarter, the Hornets took a 62-50 lead into the locker room.

Warrior guard Stephen Curry had 12 points as did Jordan Poole off the bench. Gordon Hayward, P.J. Washington and Kelly Oubre Jr. all had double digits for Charlotte. Golden State had their work cut out for them going into the second half.

Nearly four minutes into the third quarter, the Warriors had not found the basket trailing 67-52. They were shooting around 35% and the Hornets were dominating Golden State offensively and defensively.

The Warriors had no rhythm so far in this game. With 6:53 left in the third the Warriors made their first shot of the quarter. Klay Thompson and Curry hit back to back three’s cutting a fifteen point deficit to seven. The Warriors had trimmed the Hornet lead to five with four minutes left in the quarter.

Every time the Warriors got to within five points, the Hornets responded. The two teams began to trade baskets in a high octane third quarter. With 2:06 left, the Warriors took the lead 80-78. The Warriors dominated in final minutes of the third winning it 33-18. Charlotte took an 85-83 lead into the final quarter.

With 3:15 left in the game the Warriors continued to trail 101-98. Golden State desperately needed to string some shots together if a win was in their future. With 2:44 remaining the score was tied at 101. With 1:02 left on the clock the Hornets called a time-out now trailing 107-103. Charlotte cut the Warrior lead to 107-105 and Warrior head coach Steve Kerr called a time-out in response. The Hornets tied up the game at 107 and this game went into overtime.

This was the first overtime for the Warriors this season. Both Curry and Draymond Green were operating with five fouls. With 2:01 left in the overtime, the Hornets took a 114-111 lead and the Warriors were climbing uphill yet again. With 1:02 on the clock it was a one score game 116-113 in favor of the Hornets.

One of the culprits in this game was the 31 Warrior fouls to Charlottes 14. You have to give a lot of credit to the Charlotte Hornets who fought hard in the absence of LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier.

All five starters for Golden State had double digits but it just wasn’t enough.Curry had the high score for Golden State with 31 points. Off the bench Poole kept the Warriors in this game with 24 points. The Warriors had some great opportunities in the final minutes of the fourth quarter but did not take advantage of them.

There will be no rest for the Warriors as they travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

Sacramento Kings podcast with Jeremiah:

#1 Jeremiah, The Memphis Grizzlies opened up some offense on the Sacramento Kings scoring 31 points in each of the second, third, and fourth quarters.

#2 Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 31 points and the Kings tried to stop his scoring but trapping someone like Bane is not all that easy.

#3 The Grizzlies Ja Morant followed up with 22 points with five rebounds and six assists.

#4 The Kings De’Aaron Fox led with 27 points with Harrison Barnes followed up with 22 points but the Kings in the end fell short and couldn’t finish.

#5 The Miami Heat (2-4) are coming to Sacramento on Sat 29th. The Heat took a loss on Thursday night to the Golden State Warriors 123-110 and come in two games below .500 just wanted to see how you see the Heat and Kings matching up as the Kings are still looking for their first win.

Kings remain winless drop fourth straight game to Grizzlies 125-110

The Sacramento Kings (0-4) were back in action on Thursday night at Golden one Center. The Kings were set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies (4-1) as Ja Morant came to town. The Kings after struggling early in the season, we’re looking to change the tone. Kings fans would leave the arena disappointed as the Kings lost the game 125–110.

The game wasn’t a blowout by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a steady and slow defeat by most accounts. There wasn’t really any quarter or moment that the Kings lost the game. It was just a compilation throughout the game that ended up, leading to defeat.

In the first quarter of the Grizzlies jumped out to an early lead outscoring the Kings 32–28. The Kings offense didn’t to get off to a good start, and the defense didn’t find a rhythm early either.

In the second quarter it was more of the same. The Kings were outscored 31–28. The game didn’t get out of hand of the Kings were slowly falling behind. In the first half, the Kings got themselves into a 63 to 56 deficit. In the first half the Kings were led by De’Aaron Fox who had 16 points. The Kings needed to bounce back in the second half to win the game.

The third quarter echoed much of the first half of the Kings. The offense wasn’t terrible however, the defense could not get stops. The Kings would be out scored in the third quarter 31–27.

Entering the fourth quarter, the Kings would need to mount a come back if they hoped to get their first win of the season. Unfortunately for King’s fans, the fourth quarter was almost identical to the third. In the fourth quarter the Kings were out scored 31-27 and lost the game.

The Kings were led by De’Aaron Fox, who scored 27 points, followed by Harrison Barnes, who managed 20 points in the contest. The Memphis grizzlies were led by an unlikely figure Desmond Bane, who scored 31 points. Ja Morant the resident star of the Grizzlies had 22 points.

The Kings will need to return to the drawing board to figure out how to get their first win on Saturday.
