#3 Daniel Snyder the owner of the Washington Commanders refused to testify before congress on June 22 regarding a toxic work environment. Headline Sports podcast with Tony Renteria: Warriors Thompson wants to win it badly; Giants surprise with weekend sweep of LA; plus more

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) says he wants to win the NBA Finals badly after being laid off the last two NBA seasons with injuries (file photo by USA Today)

On Headline Sports podcast with Tony Renteria:

#1 Tony, I know you have a lot to say about the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors in game 5 of the NBA Finals last night at Chase Center in San Francisco. Warriors series tied up at 2-2 the Warriors Andrew Wiggins who at one time contemplated taking a Covid 19 vaccine shot or stay off the team that was nine months ago Wiggins thought the better of it and where he is now? He led the Warriors with 26 points last night to go up 3-2 in the series.

#2 Game six is in Boston is on Thursday night the Warriors Klay Thompson was quoted as saying “I want to frigging win” remarking on his long three year wait after sitting out two straight seasons with an ACL and Achilles injuries.

#3 Tony have to ask you about the recent sweep of the San Francisco Giants over the Los Angeles Dodgers there are a lot of people in baseball who are shocked about three straight over a Dodger team like this.

#4 The Oakland A’s will try and pick up a win in Boston tonight. They won only one game on the current road trip which started in getting swept in two games in Atlanta and then getting losing three of four games in Cleveland needless to say it’s been tough sledding for Oakland as they open for three games tonight in Boston.

#5 Tony, Phil Mickelson met with the media on Monday at the US Open and he was needless to say very uneasy in the meeting. He was evasive, dodged some of the questions, he wasn’t nervous but it was obvious that he didn’t want to be at the podium and afraid of questions regarding his book in consideration about joining Saudi Super Golf League.

Headline Sports podcast with Tony Renteria: NBA Playoffs-Warriors can finish off Mavericks tonight in Dallas; Celtics and Heat head to Miami tied 2-2

In second half action from Sun May 22, 2022 the Golden State Warriors Andrew Wiggins (22) throws down on the Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic (11) in game 3 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas the two teams match up for game 4 tonight in Dallas (AP News photo)

On Headline Sports with Tony R:

#1 Golden State Warriors who lead the Western Conference playoffs by a commanding 3-0 lead head into game four tonight in Dallas there seems to be a confidence that the Warriors will finish off the Dallas Mavericks tonight but over confidence could be a dangerous thing.

#2 As in past post season games the Warriors relied on Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green but they’ve been getting strong support from players like Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole and Otto Porter Jr.

#3 Turning to the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs the Boston Celtics who were down 2-1 came back on Monday night and evened up the series against the Miami Heat with a 102-82 win.

#4 It was a lopsided game 4 of sorts as the Celtics commanded a 29-11 lead after the first quarter and took a 57-33 lead into half time. The Heat came out with a 49-45 second half effort but just came up 20 points short none the less.

#5 It’s back to Miami on Wednesday night for game 5 and it’s been a series that’s been that kind of a series that’s been back and forth the Celtics were able to keep the Heat’s Jimmy Butler down to just six points in game 4 but in Miami Butler has lead Miami in scoring consistently it could be a series changer Wednesday night.

On the Sac Kings podcast with Tony Renteria:

#1 Tony, the Sacramento Kings who just recently hired former Golden State Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown how skeptical are you about Brown or any coach coming in and trying to improve this team?

#2 Tony, will coach Brown and Kings General Manager Monte McNair be able to rework the foundation of this basketball team and be able to remake and redo the roster.

#3 One other thing are the Kings willing to spend money to bring in some front line talent that would almost assuredly give the Kings a chance at making the playoffs?

#4 Tony, Dillon Brooks said at the Memphis Grizzlies practice today that he didn’t intend to hurt the Golden State Warriors Gary Payton II and that if he could he would take back the flagrant 2 foul he would.

#5 Tony let me ask you a question we got to ask Barbara Mason on this morning’s Warrior podcast after the Warriors Draymond Green pulled down on the jersey of the Grizzlies Brandon Clark in game 1 for a flagrant 2 foul the jury said it was not Green’s intent to hurt Clark going forward though this series since then has turned into a physical series of flagrant 2 fouls.
