#1 Jessica the excitement is building as the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing is just eight days away beginning Feb 4th through 22nd. All nations attending are looking forward to the games.

#2 Tough break for Olympic downhill skier Breezy Johnson who tore her right cartilage on a downhill slope during on a training run. Breezy will miss this Winter Olympic. Breezy skied the last two seasons with teammate Mikaela Shiffrin.

#3 Jessica some baseball writers are saying that not allowing former MLB players Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in the Hall of Fame is dangerous because that will also keep out other steroid era players but isn’t that the whole idea keeping out dishonest players?

#4 Jessica the Kansas City Chiefs are on the fringes of advancing to the next round to play in Super Bowl LVI. The Chiefs have won four of their last five games but one trick the loss in those five games came against their next opponent the Cincinnati Bengals back on Jan 2 in Cincinnati 34-31. Quite a climb for both teams to get here with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow both who are having a bang up season.

#5 The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will slug it out for the NFC Championship at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles this Sunday. The 49ers have defeated the Rams six consecutive times over a three season period. The Rams have home field and will be fired up and try to knock off the 49ers. The 49ers are looking to keep it going with the Super Bowl on the line.

#1 “Credit to them. Credit it to them” Famous last words from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after learning fans were not throwing trash and garbage at his teammates but rather to officials on Sunday after the loss to the 49ers blaming officials for not spotting the ball in time as time ran out and the Cowboys were eliminated from the post season. Prescott had since apologized on Tuesday for what he said.

#2 The Seattle Seahawks front office kept busy this week as they fired their defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr and defensive passing game coordinator Andre Curtis in what was the worst season for the Seahawks in more than ten years under head coach Pete Carroll. The Hawks have asked permission to speak with the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.

#3 According to head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin all options are on the table as his starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is presumed not to be returning for the 2022 season after 18 seasons as starting quarterback Roethlisberger will most likely be hanging it up and Tomlin will be searching for a new quarterback for next season.

#4 Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya (polly who said 15 minutes into an interview on Saturday that “Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs, OK?” Palihapitiya continued saying “I’m telling you a very hard, ugly truth, OK, of all the things that I care about, yes it is below my line.” The Uyghurs Muslims are being are reportedly being persecuted and suffering from genocide in China according to the US Government. The Warriors embarrassed by the comments are reportedly keeping themselves away from Palihapitya and his remarks and sources say Palihapitya share of the team could be bought out depending on how much the team has to do damage control over the remarks.

#5 Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving re-enforced his no Covid 19 vaccine stance telling the media on Tuesday that his life outside of basketball is his choice not be vaccinated. Irving is not eligible to play in Brooklyn his home building the Barclay Center where the vaccine shot is mandated to be able to play.

#1 Jessica, the Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is having shoulder surgery and the Browns won’t wait it will be as soon as possible. Mayfield will not play this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The surgery will for a torn labrum in his non throwing left shoulder.

#2 Jessica, the Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree has been charged with misdemeanor assault after some individuals came back into a Walgreens store in Nashville after having an argument with a 20 year old male employee last Sun Jan 2. It was reported that Dupree grabbed the employee’s phone who was filming the incident. A male and female employee ended up getting cuts. The male employee on the forehead and the female employee on the hands. The Titans said they are aware of the situation. Dupree and the Titans had just won earlier that day defeating the Miami Dolphins 34-3.

#3 Jessica, the railing collapsed right after the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team concluded their game last Sunday in Washington in an Eagles 20-16 win. As Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was exiting the railing collapsed and six fans fell six feet. Hurts ended up helping one of the fans and was afraid someone could have seriously got hurt. Hurts wrote to NFL vice president Brian McCarthy and the Washington Football Team about the incident and McCarthy assured Hurts that the league will look into with Washington and promised nothing like this will happen again.

#4 There is certainty that the Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson will join the Warriors after two and a half years of recovering from a torn left ACL and right Achilles tear missing two seasons. Thompson is expected back in the line up against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday Jan 9th at Chase Center in San Francisco.

#5 Big effort by the Atlanta Hawks Trae Young who scored 56 points but the Hawks ended up losing to the visiting Portland Trailblazers 136-131. Young had a hot hand going 17-26 and 7-12 on three pointers. What more does Young has to do to prove that’s a core player on the Hawks.

#1 Jessica tonight we start with the NHL calling for this week’s leaguewide shutdown which was announced on Monday due to the positive coronavirus outbreak that has ten NHL teams facilities already shut before the shutdown was announced.

#2 The Holiday break was announced two days earlier and the NHL isn’t schedule to be back until Monday. Five games scheduled for Thursday has been postponed a total 50 games postponed this season.

#4 The NHLPA and the NHL have come to an agreement that no players will be participating in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Feb 5-22. The NHL with it’s massive Coronvirus outbreak and travel between Canada and the US has been banned the NHL decided to not send players to Beijing. The NHL will use those dates to make up games that are currently postponed.

#3 Jessica, in women’s college basketball the U Conn Huskies 16 year steak of being in the top 10 is over. The Huskies lost to Louisville and dropped four places in the AP poll on Monday dropping to 11th. The last time the Huskies were in 11th place was back on Mar 7, 2005.

#4 Monday was also another brutal day for the NFL as 47 players were put on the Covid 19 list a record for one day since the pandemic began in 2020. Some of the 47 keynote players in the Covid 19 quarantine are Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa and Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

#5 New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will be out for the rest of the season with a sprained neck injury. According the Giants head coach Joe Judge doctor recommended that Jones sit out the remaining three games this season after scans showed the extent of Jones’ neck injuries.

#1 Jessica big night at Madison Square Garden for the Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry who broke Ray Allen’s all time three points record. With the help of the New York Knicks and MSG the hosts provided on screen and music celebration of Curry being congratulated by teammates and handing off the record breaker to his father Dell Curry.

#2 It’s not often you get to witness a record setting historical moment and the highly anticipated moment happened on the biggest stage at MSG. Talk about the surrounding and the electricity of the moment and how Curry just let it all sink in after he broke the record.

#3 In other NBA headlines the Chicago Bulls have postponed two games due to ten players going on NBA health and safety Covid 19 protocols.

#4 The Bulls who were supposed to host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night and no travelling to Toronto to face the Toronto Raptors on Thursday both games postponed. No announcement on makeup dates.

#5 In NFL news the deadline for coaches, front office staff, and personnel for all NFL teams to get the booster shot is Mon Dec 27th. The NFL said given the CDC’s advise about the fast and moving spread of omicron it’s recommended that the league’s requirement for Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees to get the booster.

#1 Jessica, LeBron James is out for health and safety Covid 19 protocols starting on Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Lakers announced that LeBron will be out for several games. LeBron has missed 11 of 22 games this season and are below .500 in games without him at 4-7.

#2 Jessica, with the Omicron scare actively spreading the NBA has issued a recommendation on further boosters and vaccinations for it’s players. The league has completed a study of 2300 players and staff according to the study the league wants to create more antibodies and are recommending shots from Moderna and Pfizer. They say the Johnson and Johnson shot declines after a while.

#3 Tiger Woods who said he will not be golfing full time for the rest of his career but making part time tours said that he’s lucky to be alive and have his leg after the vehicle crash. Woods said on cutting back on golf tours that after many back injuries and his fracture leg from the auto accident that he’s made the climb enough times and he’s at peace with that.

#4 The New Jersey Devils Jack Hughes returned to action on Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks after suffering a separated shoulder and was out on the injured list since Oct 19th. In addition to Hughes return he was given a contract extension eight years for $64 million. Hughes 20 was headed to free agency once this season was over but the Devils secured him for the long future.

#5 New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is listed as a question mark for this Sunday in Miami due to a strained neck he received in the Giants 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones got injured early after taking a hit on the second play of the game and most likely will be replaced by back up Mike Glennon.

#1 Former New York Met pitcher Noah Syndergaard has signed onto a one year $21 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels. Snydergaard pitched for seven years for the New York Mets Snydergaard joins an Angels team that is struggling with starting pitching and hopes to shore that up joining forces with the face of baseball and new teammate Shohei Ohtani.

#2 Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving on Sunday sent out two tweets one showing a picture of the matrix and the other saying “God never fails.” The City of New York has a full vaccine protocol for employees, players, and fans and Irving can’t come into Barclay Center until he’s fully vaccinated.

#3 From all indications from his responses and convictions he will not take the vaccine. Kyrie is allowed to travel with the Nets but the Nets have elected to have him sit out for road trips until he is fully vaccinated which does not look likely.

#4 Former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan had some heavy criticism for Jets head coach Robert Saleh saying he has philosophical differences in his coaching abilities and Ryan added that he’s insulted when he’s compared to Saleh regarding defensive strategies. Saleh said if Ryan feels that personal about it he knows where to find me.

#5 Jessica the New York Yankees and Mets are looking to make some moves to acquire free agents Starling Marte and the Yankees have express interest in Matt Chapman both who were teammates on the Oakland A’s last season. Marte last season played with the Miami Marlins before being dealt to Oakland mid season and hit .310, 145 hits, 12 HRs, and 55 RBIs, Chapman hit .210, 111 hits, 27 home runs, 72 RBIs.

#1 The New York Mets fired acting general manager Zack Scott, Scott who served for the Mets for only two months was arrested for driving under the influence. Mets team president Sandy Alderson has assumed Scott’s general manager duties.

#2 The Mets who fell apart in the second half of the season was an additional reason to the Scott firing, Alderson is now looking for a new general manager, a field manager as Luis Rojas was fired, and a new president of baseball operations.

#3The Mets also were trying to hire former Oakland A’s manager Bob Melvin who has signed on with the San Diego Padres and A’s vice president Billy Beane. Beane is part owner of the A’s and it’s very unlikely he will leave Oakland for New York.

#4 Jessica it looks like a quarterback controversy at the New York Jets, back up quarterback Mike White threw for 405 yards and first stringer Zack Wilson came over to congratulate him after the game. White said that Wilson was “more juiced” about the win than he was. Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he’ll see how Wilson is doing coming off his knee injury regarding who he’ll start against the Indianapolis Colts this week on Sunday Night Football.

#5 Jessica, the New York Giants (2-6) are struggling having lost the Kansas Chiefs (4-4) last Sunday in Kansas City. The Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was 22-32 for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The Giants host the Las Vegas Raiders (4-2) this Sunday in the Meadowlands.

#1 New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone will return next season. Boone signed for a three contract and has an option for 2025. Yankees managing partner Hal Steinbrenner said that Boone has acumen and brings respect in the clubhouse.

#2 Boone and the Yankees finished in third in the AL East and lost to the Boston Red Sox in the Wild Card game that put Boone’s future with the Yankees in jeopardy. Steinbrenner felt that Boone had the respect of the players to return and make a run at the post season.

#3 Jessica turning to the NBA the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks who battled in an opening night game in Milwaukee. The Bucks held the lead for pretty much of the game later to win it 127-104. It’s early to tell but without Kyrie Irving in for the Nets does his absence from the team for Covid-19 protocol issues have an impact on the team?

#4 Taking a look at the MLB post season. The Atlanta Braves have had such a hold on the Dodgers winning the first two games of the series by two walk off hits in the ninth in Atlanta. The Braves taking a significant lead on the Dodgers on Tuesday night 5-2 in Los Angeles. The Dodgers made a comeback 6-5 to win game 3 with a 2-1 Braves margin. The Braves now with a 3-1 series lead won a laugher in game 4 on Wednesday night need one more win to sweep the series.

#5 It’s been a series the Houston Astros have a 3-2 lead on the Boston Red Sox taking a 9-1 laugher in Boston in game 5. The Astros had their biggest inning in the top of the sixth scoring five runs and now returning to Houston on Friday night for game 6 and they are the brink of eliminating the Red Sox needing just one more win.

#1 Jessica, You had a chance to see last night’s Wild Card game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox just how shocked was this good hitting potent team the Yankees that they only could manufacture just two runs in the 6-2 one and done loss to the Sox in Boston on Tuesday night.

#2 Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole was pulled he coughed up a Kyle Schwaber home run in the third inning. Cole said that he’s sick to his stomach over his poor outing going two innings, four hits, three runs, two walks and three strike outs.

#3 The San Francisco Giants are in the NL Division Series playoffs and will be hosting the series at Oracle Park in San Francisco which starts on Friday. What made a national story was Oracle park concessionaires Bon Appetit were planning to walk out at the beginning of the playoff meaning this Friday. That was averted when both labor and Bon Appetit management came to an agreement giving concession employees a $3 retroactive raise which covers this and the last two years, a $1.50 in hazard pay that also covered the last two years and increases that will total $7 an hour by 2024. The concession staff currently makes over $20.00 an hour.

#4 The Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving is still unclear whether he will take the Covid 19 vaccine but the pressure is on with opening day for the regular season around the corner. If Irving does not get vaccinated he will not be allowed to play any of the Nets home games at Barclay Center in Brooklyn until he does gets that first shot.

#5 Jessica, the San Diego Padres fired manager Jayce Tingler after he served two seasons with the Padres. The Padres at one time were within striking distance to get the second spot in the Wild Card standings but ended up not being able to seal the deal. Strong possibility to replace Tingler is former San Francisco Giant manager Bruce Bochy who led the Giants three World Series championships.
