SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda blanked the Stockton Heat 2-0 at SAP Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Barracuda had three power play opportunities in the first period, but were unable to capitalize on them and ended up skating their way to a scoreless deadlock after 20 minutes. Both teams were tied with four shots on goal.

“I thought when it came down to it,” Barracuda captain John McCarthy asserted. We got big blocks, we got big clears when we needed them. It’s a good sign that we’re battling in those situations.”

As the second period progressed, the Barracuda started gaining momentum, outshooting the Heat 21-16. Nikita Jevpalovs broke a scoreless deadlock with his fifth goal of the season. Jevpalovs scored on a 2-on-1 with Barclay Goodrow to give the Barracuda a 1-0 lead at 14:19.

“It’s always nice to get rewarded,” Jevpalovs responded when asked about getting rewarded for his hard work. “But I’m trying not to focus on goals right now. I’m just trying to help the team out with good plays, like the little details right now.”

Rourke Chartier added a goal — his eighth of the season — on a 2-on-1 at the 10:01 mark, extending the Barracuda lead to 2-0.

The Barracuda led 2-0 after 40 minutes.

The third period was a great defensive effort by both teams. Neither team scored and the Barracuda shutout the Heat 2-0 at home. Barracuda goaltender Mantas Armalis stopped all 19 shots he faced.

“It was kind of a weird game where both teams had only four shots each,” Armalis recalled. “It’s not something that happens too often, and those kinds of games and periods, you just got to work on those.”

Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer had some nice things to say about Armalis.

“I thought he (Armalis) looked really good tonight,” Sommer said. “He looked real calm. He was seeing pucks…He looked really good for us tonight.”

Heat goaltender Jon Gillies made 25 saves in a losing effort.

Notes:

John McCarthy skated in his 400th career AHL game.

In honor of veterans and active duty military, the Barracuda hosted Military Appreciation Day, collecting donations of travel-size toiletries and food items as well as handing out free patriotic tote bags to the first 1,500 fans in attendance. Barracuda players wore their red, white and blue jerseys, which were sold through an auction during the matinee game against the Heat.

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda were edged 3-2 by the Ontario Reign at SAP Center on Friday night.

The Barracuda fell behind 2-0 in the first period and never fully recovered.

The Reign struck first as Sam Herr scored his fourth goal of the season at the 10:21 mark. Shortly after Barclay Goodrow went to the box for interference, Sean Backman added a second goal on the power-play for his seventh of the season to make it 2-0 Reign with 6:51 left in the period.

Despite holding an 11-10 shots advantage over the Reign, the Barracuda trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The Barracuda cut the Reign’s lead in half at 11:06 when Nikita Jevpalovs scored off the rush for his fourth of the season.

Justin Auger scored his eighth of the season to extend the Reign’s lead to 3-1 at 7:11.

Nikolay Goldobin made it a one-goal game with 2:39 left in the period. Goldobin ripped a shot from above the circles on a 5-on-3 for his seventh of the season.

Neither team scored in the third period and the Reign (18-7-6) escaped San Jose with a 3-2 win over the Barracuda and claimed first place in the Pacific Division. Jack Campbell finished with 35 saves in an Ontario victory.

Troy Grosenick made 20 saves in a losing effort for San Jose.

Post game notes: The Barracuda announced that defenceman Mirco Mueller has joined the team on Friday. Mueller who was on the road trip with the Barracuda parent team the San Jose Sharks who played in Edmonton on Tuesday and Calgary on Wednesday. Mueller for the Sharks played in three games in his brief time in the show. Mueller in that time scored a goal and an assist. Mueller can be assured that he will get a call up if the Sharks are looking for depth later this season. More than likely during the stretch drive in March Mueller could look forward to getting more time with the Sharks. With the Sharks Marc Edouard Vlasic back from an injury Mueller has returned to the Barracuda as of Friday.

The Barracuda (17-9-1) return to action Saturday afternoon when they host the Stockton Heat (18-11-3) at 1:30 pm PST on AHL Live and AM 1220 KDOW.

San Jose Barracuda Saturday game wrap: Beep Beep Barracuda run all over the Roadrunners in three goal victory 5-2

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda beat the Tucson Roadrunners 5-2 at SAP Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Barracuda wore their alternate orange jerseys at Pucks & Princesses day in the Shark Tank. Fans dressed up as their favorite princesses, took pictures with various princesses and enjoyed princess themed in-game entertainment. They faced the Roadrunners for the first time since the exhibition game on Oct. 6. Mantas Armalis and Justin Peters were the starting goaltenders.

The Barracuda scored three goals in the opening nine minutes of the first period.

Colin Blackwell started the scoring just 2:14 into the opening frame when he beat Peters five-hole with a backhand shot for his second goal of the season.

The Barracuda took a 2-0 lead at 12:01 when Marcus Sorensen picked up a centering pass from Nikita Jevpalovs and put the shot past Peters for his ninth goal of the season.

Ryan Carpenter slipped a far-side wrist shot past Peters for his seventh goal of the season, extending the Barracuda’s lead to 3-0 at the 11 minute mark.

“It (three-goal cushion) is always important,” Carpenter said. “It’s always nice to have a cushion…It makes it a lot easier to cruise to a victory.”

Shot attempts were 11-10 in favor of San Jose, who led 3-0 after 20 minutes.

Special teams made a difference in the second period.

Mark Olver was called for elbowing, giving the Barracuda the man advantage. Joakim Ryan beat Peters short side under the glove on the power play for his fifth goal of the season, expanding San Jose’s lead to 4-0 with 3:30 left in the middle frame.

“We just battled through,” Ryan said of the Barracuda’s recent losses. “Really tough losing three guys (Heed, Mueller, Bergman) like that. Three of our best defensemen. We just battled through and the guys stepped up.”

The Barracuda led 4-0 after 40 minutes, outshooting the Roadrunners, 25-21.

The defensive lapses had an affect on the Barracuda in the third period.

The Roadrunners ruined the Barracuda’s shutout bid 5:45 into the final frame as Stefan Fournier knocked in a rebound for his first goal of the season.

Lindsay Sparks drove the net, stopped in front and put a shot under Armalis’ blocker for his first goal of the season to cut the Barracuda’s lead in half at 9:01.

Patrick McNally scored an empty-net goal — his first of the season — to lead the Barracuda (17-8-1-3) to a 5-2 win over the Roadrunners (15-9-4-0). Armalis finished with 31 saves in a San Jose victory.

“I helped a lot” Armalis said. “Especially with how I haven’t played so much…It was nice to come out and help the team out.”

Adin Hill stopped 28 of 29 shots in relief of Peters, who allowed three goals on five shots in the first period.

Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer talked about his team winning Saturday’s matinee.

“We went through the same thing in Bakersfield,” Sommer said. “You get down three goals on a team that plays pretty good and doesn’t give up a lot of goals and is pretty hard to come back, especially if you play the night before. We got the start we wanted.”

The Barracuda return to action next Friday when they host the Ontario Reign at 7:00 pm PST on AHL Live and AM 1220 KDOW.

San Jose Barracuda Friday game wrap: Milwaukee ends Barracuda’s two game win streak with 3-1 win

sjbarracuda.com photo: Nikolay Goldobin forward (82) of the San Jose Barracuda is pursued by the Milwaukee Admirals Justin Florek left winger (38) and Justin Kirkland left wing (19)

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda lost 3-1 to the Milwaukee Admirals as their two-game win streak was snapped at SAP Center on Friday night.

The Barracuda (16-8-1-3) had their first look at the Admirals (20-8-2-2) this Friday. San Jose was without Julius Bergman after he suffered a head injury on Wednesday. As a result, Michael Brodzinski made his season debut with the Barracuda.

It took an army of one for Derek Army to score his first goal of the season. Army went to the net, collected a rebound off Alex Carrier’s shot and beat Troy Grosenick to put the Admirals on the board 1-0 at 14:53 of the first period.

The Admirals generated plenty of shot opportunities, outshooting the Barracuda 17-5 in the opening period. Milwaukee led 1-0 after 20 minutes.

The Barracuda appeared to be frustrated with the way things went as Alex Gallant dropped the gloves with Michael Liambas almost six minutes into the second period. Both players received two-minute minors for unsportsmanlike conduct and five-minute majors for fighting.

Alexandre Carrier went to the box for holding at 6:15. The Barracuda capitalized on the man advantage as Danny O’Regan scored on a deflection that bounced off the ice and past Marek Mazanec for a power-play goal and his 11th of the season, tying the score 1-1 at 5:06.

Justin Kirkland drove the net and scored on a rebound for his third of the season. The Admirals took a 2-1 lead with 48 seconds left in the period.

The Barracuda were outshot 31-23 and trailed 2-1 after 40 minutes.

Army scored his second goal of the game off an assist by Adam Payerl to extend the Admirals’ lead to 3-1 at 10:16 of the third period.

The Barracuda lost to the Admirals 3-1. Grosenick made 32 saves in a losing effort for San Jose.

Mazanec finished with 39 saves in a Milwaukee victory.

Barracuda captain John McCarthy thought his team responded well, but it was “too little, too late.”

Defenseman Dan Kelly added to what McCarthy said.

“We just didn’t get the result we wanted as a team,” Kelly said. “So we got to bounce back with a short-term memory.”

Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer thought Brodzinski had a pretty good season debut, but there were a few things he needed to work on.

“His overall game I thought was pretty good,” Sommer said. “Down low, getting beat to the net on that one (goal), is something he needs to work on and moving pucks a little bit quicker. We’re a pretty good transition team when we get it through the neutral zone…when you hang on to it (puck) for a little while longer, it allows the other team to get into their d-zone (defensive zone) or neutral zone forecheck. We could’ve been a little better there.”

The Barracuda return to action Saturday afternoon when they host the Tuscon Roadrunners (15-8-4-0) at 1:15 pm PST on AHL Live and AM 1220 KDOW.

San Jose Barracuda Wednesday game wrap: Cuda turn up the power with three power play goals in 4-2 win over Rampage

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda scored three power-play goals en route to a 4-2 victory over the San Antonio Rampage at SAP Center on Wednesday night.

The Barracuda (16-7-1-3) got off to a sluggish start in the first few minutes of the game against a subpar Rampage (15-16-2-0) team, but found a rhythm around the 13 minute mark.

Troy Bourke went to the box for delay of game, giving the Barracuda a power play at 13:53. Danny O’Regan completed the tic-tac-toe sequence between Joakim Ryan and Adam Helewka for a power-play goal and his 10th of the season. San Jose took a 1-0 lead with just one second left on the Rampage man advantage.

Marcus Sorensen took the rebound off a Nikolay Goldobin shot from the end boards and banked it in off Spencer Martin’s leg for his 8th of the season, giving the Barracuda a 2-0 lead at 6:18.

Alex Gallant served a two-minute penalty for slashing with 2:09 left in the first period.

The Barracuda watched the Rampage snap their streak of 20 consecutive penalty kills when A.J. Greer cut the lead in half with a power-play goal and his 10th of the season. Greer collected a pass from Rocco Grimaldi and put the puck past Troy Grosenick for a power-play goal with 35 seconds left.

The Barracuda were outshot 15-11, but held a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Shortly after Jacob Middleton went to the box for crosschecking, the Rampage scored what appeared to be the game-tying goal. The controversial call of goaltender interference on Grosenick led to a brawl between both teams and it was eventually overturned. Jim O’Brien scored his sixth of the season, tying the game 2-2 with 6:54 left in the second period.

The action intensified late in the second as Anton Lindholm was called for interference. The Barracuda received a power play. Then, San Jose went on a 5-on-3 after Mat Clark was called for hooking with just five seconds left in the period.

The Barracuda were outshot 31-23 and in a 2-2 tie after 40 minutes.

Both penalties were carried into the opening minutes of the third period.

The Barracuda grabbed a 3-2 lead with 22 seconds left on Clark’s penalty as Tim Heed scored his eighth of the season with a shot from the point at 18:25 of the third.

Lindholm took a holding penalty late in the third. This allowed Heed to restore San Jose’s two-goal cushion. Heed beat Grosenick with a one-timer from above the left circle for his second goal of the game and ninth of the season, extending the Barracuda lead to 4-2 with 6:37 left in regulation.

The Barracuda beat the Rampage 4-2 at home. Grosenick finished with 36 saves in a San Jose victory.

Martin made 37 saves in a losing effort for San Antonio.

Ryan complimented Grosenick’s performance, saying, “Grosenick’s been on fire. He’s been hot for a while now. He’s making the big saves when we need him to. The first five minutes of the first period, we were struggling, we weren’t playing so well and he kept us in. It could’ve easily been 2-0 off the bat, so he’s making huge saves when he needs to and we’re getting goals for him too.”

Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer gave credit where it was due.

“That (Rampage) is a much improved team since the last time we played them down there,” Sommer said. “I can see why they’re winning games right now.”

Sommer added: “We got a lot of talent. We have three good lines and the fourth line kind of does their thing. We just weren’t in our end a lot…but you lose a (Mirco) Mueller and that’s an automatic breakout for us, but that’s how it goes.”

The Barracuda return to action Friday night when they host the Milwaukee Admirals (19-8-2-2) at 7:00 pm PST on AHL Live and AM 1220 KDOW.

San Jose Barracuda New Years Eve game wrap: SJ’s O’Regan, Ryan and Sorenson take it to Bakersfield in 4-1 win

sjbarracuda.com: The San Jose Barracuda Marcus Sorenson (20) scored the third goal of the game in the second period at 18:05 beating Bakersfield Condors goalie Laurent Brossoit at SAP Center on Saturday night

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda (15-7-1-3) ended 2016 on a positive note with a 4-1 win over the Bakersfield Condors (11-12-4-1) at SAP Center on Saturday night.

The Barracuda sported their alternate orange jerseys as they hosted a sober New Year’s Eve celebration in the Shark Tank. Fans donated brand-new winter clothing, received free ‘Cuda and Canines calendars and watched the Barracuda ball drop.

Both goaltenders made strong first impressions in the first period. Troy Grosenick stopped all seven shots he faced while Laurent Brossoit stopped all nine shots he faced. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie with the Barracuda holding a 9-7 shot advantage after 20 minutes.

Joel Rechlicz was called for slashing at the 13:15 mark. Shortly after, San Jose broke a scoreless deadlock on the power play. Danny O’Regan scored off his own rebound to bury his ninth of the season and give his team a 1-0 lead.

The Barracuda took a 2-0 lead when Joakim Ryan drove to center ice, fired in a pass from Barclay Goodrow and scored a short-handed goal for his fourth of the season.

The Barracuda padded their lead to three goals with less than two minutes remaining in the second period when Marcus Sorensen stole the puck and went in alone to beat Brossoit for his seventh of the season.

The Barracuda outshot the Condors 22-17 and led 3-0 after 40 minutes.

Ryan Carpenter scored a short-handed goal to put the Barracuda up 4-0 at 16:07 of the third period. With his sixth of the season, Carpenter increased his point streak to five games. He also collected points in seven of his last eight games.

The Barracuda were en route to a shutout until Anton Lander fired a puck past Grosenick’s ear for his 10th of the season at 11:09.

The Barracuda beat the Condors 4-1 on New Year’s Eve.

Grosenick finished with 34 saves for San Jose. Brossoit made 24 saves in a losing effort for Bakersfield.

Carpenter felt confident in his team following Friday’s 7-2 loss to the Condors.

“We felt like we gained some confidence in this game,” Carpenter said. “It felt like we were blowing off some steam. It was 5-2, 6-2 and then 7-2. It shows what kind of character we have.”

Sorensen also felt confident in his abilities as of late.

“I had a couple of good games before this,” Sorensen said. “So I’m starting to feel good about myself.”

Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer complimented his power-play unit.

“I think they were both good,” Sommer said. “(Danny) O’Regan’s line ate it up most of the time. I didn’t get Carpy’s (Ryan Carpenter’s) line out there much…I just like the way our entries are clean.”

The Barracuda return to action next Wednesday when they host the San Antonio Rampage (15-15-2-0). G

Barracuda have win streak snapped by Condors 7-2

sjbarracuda.com photo: The San Jose Barracuda and Bakersfield Condors will see enough each other three times in four days as frustrations brew between the clubs with Saturday being no exception as they conclude their meetings at SAP Center

By: Eric He

Riding a three-game win streak into Bakersfield, the San Jose Barracuda saw it come to an end in a poor showing against the Condors. The 7-2 loss featured five first period goals by the opposition, the first time that has happened in franchise history.

The Condors, meanwhile, snapped their six-game losing streak in strong fashion with an onslaught right away, finding the back of the net on their first two shots. Ryan Hamilton scored 29 seconds into the game and then David Musil connected minutes later to give Bakersfield a 2-0 lead right off the bat.

A goaltending change did nothing for the Barracuda, as Mantas Armalis was pulled for Troy Grosenick — but Grosenick didn’t fare much better. Patrick Russell, Anton Slepyshev and Anton Lander all scored on him before the first period ended. Nine shots and three goals allowed later, Grosenick was again replaced by Armalis as head coach Roy Sommer searched for an answer.

But a 5-0 deficit was too steep to overcome in the Barracuda’s pen-ultimate game of 2016. Goals by Ryan Carpenter and Rourke Chartier gave San Jose some life in the second period, but Bakersfield came back with two in the third to answer.

The Barracuda drop to 14-7-1-3 on the season and will end the year facing Bakersfield again on Saturday, this time in San Jose.

San Jose Barracuda Wednesday post game wrap: Barracuda win third straight in Bakersfield 4-1

The San Jose Barracuda thrashed the Bakersfield Condors with a 4-1 win at the Rabobank Arena on Wednesday night.

The Barracuda carried a two-game winning streak into Wednesday’s tilt against the Condors, and were on the road for the first time since Dec. 4.

The score should’ve been close — but Troy Grosenick made some notable saves to keep the Barracuda in the game — including a last-minute glove save to rob the Condors of a potential goal.

The Barracuda grabbed a 1-0 lead at 15:52 of the first period when Nikolay Goldobin waltzed in and beat Nick Ellis on the short side for his sixth goal of the season.

Jere Sallinen went to the box for hooking at 9:26. The Barracuda capitalized on the power play as Barlay Goodrow scored his 11th goal of the season to make it a 2-0 game just 77 seconds later.

The Barracuda were outshot 11-7, but led 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The Condors had an answer for the speed of the Barracuda in the second period.

Danny O’Regan took a pass from Jon Martin and put it past Ellis for his eighth goal of the season to extend the Barracuda lead to 3-0 at 13:10.

Barracuda Finish 5-Win Homestand With 4-3 OT Win Over Heat

photo by sjbarracuda.com: The San Jose Barracuda Nikolay Goldobin (82) finds the back end of the net at 2:25 in overtime for the game winner at SAP Center on Monday night against the Stockton Heat

By Matthew T.F. Harrington

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Barracuda wrapped up a successful seven-game homestand Monday night, topping the first-place Stockton Heat 4-3 in overtime. Nikolay Goldobin scored the game-winner while Marcus Sorensen, Nikita Jevpalovs and Barclay Goodrow all scored in regulation for San Jose to finish the home set 5-1-1.

Goldobin scored his fifth of the season just 2:25 into the overtime session, beating Stockton netminder David Rittich over the glovehand on the breakaway. Goldobin slipped behind two Heat skaters at the blue line, taking a pass for Joakim Ryan down the center lane for the game-winning play.

It appeared that overtime wouldn’t be necessary for most of the game with San Jose up 3-2 late, but the Heat tied the game 5:17 into the third period after Mantas Armalis let in a goal on the first shot of the game he faced from Austin Carroll.

Armalis subbed in for Troy Grosenick, who couldn’t finish the game despite making nine saves on 11 shots faced over 44:23 of play. Armalis picked up the win, turning aside seven of eight shots.

The Barracuda opened the game by scoring the first two goals of the contest, with Marcus Sorensen notching the first marker 1:25 into the game. Sorensen crashed the net with Barclay Goodrow the lead forechecker heading into the corner of the Heat defensive end. A Heat defender tried reversing the puck out of the corner, but Goodrow’s pressure led to a bad pass that hit off Sorensen’s skate and into the back of the net 1-0.

Just under six minutes later, Nikita Jevpalovs was the beneficiary of strong work in the corners. After Julius Bergman took a shot from outside the hashmarks, Goldobin was able to pull the bouncing puck down in the corner. Goldobin was then able to wheel the puck to a wide open Jevpalovs in the slot. The Latvian’s first shot richoted up off the crossbar and over Rittich’s shoulder, but Jevpalovs found the puck, tucking it inside the post for his third goal of the year.

Stockton’s Mark Jankowski beat Grosenick after a poor change by the Barracuda led to a 2-on-1 50 seconds after Jevpalovs’ goal, then assisted on Morgan Klimchuk’s 10th goal of the season 8:11 into the second. The Heat would have a chance to add to the lead after Marcus Sorensen’s cross-checking minor halfway through the period.

The Barracuda’s special teams were the winners during this penalty kill, with Barclay Goodrow scoring a shorthanded goal 1:47 into the kill. Goodrow took a carpenter pass, then held on to the puck despite being wrapped up by Brett Kulak on the attempted breakaway and buried his 10th goal of the season to take a 3-2 lead.

The Barracuda will wrap up the 2016 portion of the schedule with three-straight contests against the Bakersfield Condors starting Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rabobank Arena. The two teams will play again Friday in Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m. before returning to SAP for a Saturday contest at 6:00 p.m.

San Jose Barracuda Tuesday game wrap: Barrcuda beat the Heat with 6-3 winner at SAP Center Tues

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Barracuda beat the Stockton Heat 6-3 at SAP Center on Tuesday afternoon.

The Barracuda rode a season-long four-game point streak as they welcomed the first-place Heat to San Jose for the second time this season.

Troy Grosenick’s shutout streak ended at 2:

48 minutes and eight seconds after giving up a first-period goal to Reign forward Teddy Purcell on Sunday. Grosenick was just 63 minutes and three seconds shy of Matt Murray’s AHL record in the 2014-15 season.

The Barracuda have two goaltenders, so the starts have been few and far in between for Mantas Armalis. Today, Armalis made his 10th start of the season and second against the Heat.

Adam Helewka opened the scoring at 3:58 of the first period, continuing his scoring streak with his fourth goal in three games.

The Barracuda went on their first power play of the game after Brandon Bollig and Ryan Lomberg were both assessed minor penalties for high sticking and hooking. Nikolay Goldobin cleaned up the rebound for a power-play goal to give the Barracuda a 2-0 lead at 13:58.

The Heat went on the power play after Jacob Middleton was called for tripping at 18:02. Bollig then picked up a cross-ice pass from Hunter Shinkaruk and put the puck in the net past Armalis to cut the lead in half with 52 seconds left in the first.

The Barracuda held a 2-1 lead, limiting the Heat to just six shots in the first.

Joakim Ryan went to the box for tripping at 4:40 of the second period. Just 13 seconds into the Heat power play, John McCarthy put his team ahead 3-1 with a short-handed goal for his fifth of the season.

Mike Angelidis put in the rebound to make it a one-goal game at 7:27.

Barclay Goodrow doubled the Barracuda lead with 21 seconds left in the second. Goodrow stuffed the puck behind Gillies for his ninth goal of the season.

The Barracuda carried a 4-2 lead to the dressing room after two periods of play.

The Heat made it a one-goal game again at 12:18 of the third period when Mark Jankowski tipped in a Matt Frattin shot past Armalis for his sixth of the season.

Matt Frantin went to the box for boarding at 15:19. Tim Heed picked up a pass from Danny O’Regan and fired it into the net for a power-play goal, extending the Barracuda lead to 5-3 less than two minutes later.

Both teams fought each other late in the third. As a result, Goodrow received a minor roughing penalty. Helewka served a bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct. Ryan Carpenter scored an empty-net goal to expand the Barracuda lead to 6-3 at 18:14.

The Barracuda beat the Heat 6-3 in a nail-biter. Armalis finished with 22 saves in a San Jose victory. Gillies made 38 saves in a losing effort for Stockton.

Despite the victory, Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer is a realist when it comes to the defense.

“There’s always parts of our game that we’ve got to get better at,” Sommer said. “Like being harder at their end…for the most part, I thought we played pretty good defensively.”

The Barracuda (12-6-1-3) return to action Monday when they host the Heat (16-7-1-1) in a post-Christmas game at 5:00 pm PST. You can tune into the game on AHL Live and AM 1220 KDOW.
