#1 The NHL released it’s 2026-27 schedules Thursday and the league has added regular season game from 82 to 84 games for this upcoming season.

#2 For the first time in NHL history the league will open the regular season in September as the Carolina Hurricanes will face the Florida Panthers in Sunrise FL on Sep 29 for a 2pm PDT 5pm EDT puck drop.

#3 The NHL had an 82 regular season schedule running since the 1995-96 season and there were NHL teams that complained about an imbalanced amount of divisional games that were against rivals. Under the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and the players the amount of games was increased from 82-84. Len tell us what the schedule for the NHL 2026-27

#4 The NHL Eastern Conference Florida Panthers will help the Western Conference San Jose Sharks open their season against Thu Oct 1st at SAP Center. The Sharks will have some of their draft picks, not to mention two top players they picked up in free agency Darnell Nurse and Mason Marchment.
