San Jose’s Quentin Musty stayed hot, giving the Barracuda an early 1-0 lead 7 minutes into the opening frame. This would be San Jose’s first lead in their 3-1 win. Musty with his thirteenth goal of the season and Noah Beck registering the primary assist and Colin White registering the secondary assist. With less than a minute left in the first, Milwaukee draws two penalties and led to a 5-3 powerplay. With the powerplay opportuity, Austin Roest scored his first AHL goal.
With 3:44 left in the game, Kasper Halttunen scored his eleventh goal of the season to give San Jose their lead back. Braden Hache gets the lone assist. To seal the win, Patrick Giles scores an empty net goal to make it a 3-1 score.
After the first period, Milwaukee domimanted San Jose, outshooting them thirteen to six. After the second period San Jose outshot Milwaukee thirteen to seven. After the third period, San Jose outshot Milwaukee ten to seven.
Special teams played an important piece in today’s game. Coming into today’s game, San Jose was first on the powerplay and fourth shorthanded in the Pacific Divison. For Milwaukee, they came first on the powerplay and third shorthanded in the Central Divison. Tonight, San Jose went 0/2 while Milwaukee went 1/3.
The goaltending matchup tonight was Laurent Brossiot for San Jose and Matt Murray again for Milwaukee. Making 26 saves on 28 shots, Brossoit recorded tonights win. Making 26 saves on 28 shots, Murray recorded tonights loss.

The Barracuda will be back in action on Wednesday where they will once again host the San Diego Gulls for a one game series. The last time these two teams faced off was this past Wednesday where the Barracuda won 3-2. Patrick Giles, Quentin Musty, and Oliver Wahlstrom all scored in the win.
