Milwaukee got out to an early start getting a 1-0 lead in the first period. This would be the first goal scored in San Jose’s 4-1 win. Shawn Element of the Admirals getting his third goal of the season just eight minutes into the starting frame. Receiving a pass from Filip Bystedt, San Jose’s Quentin Musty tied the game at 1-1. Musty with his eleventh goal of the season.
Taking their first lead of the game, Oliver Wahlstrom scored his twenty first goal of the season to make it a 2-1 San Jose lead. To extend that lead even further, Quentin Musty scored his second of the game to make it a 3-1 lead for San Jose. Luca Cagnoni made it a 4-1 game late in the third period, scoring his seventh of the season.
After the first period, San Jose outshot Milwaukee ten to eight. After the second period, San Jose outshot Milwaukee fourteen to seven. After the third period, San Jose outshot Milwaukee thirteen to ten.
Coming into tonight’s game, San Jose was first in the Pacific Division while Milwaukee was also first in the Central Division on the powerplay. Shorthanded, San Jose was fourth in the Pacific Division while Milwaukee was third in the Central Division. Tonight, San Jose went 0/3. For Milwaukee, they also went 0/3.
Matt Davis got his second AHL start. Making 14 saves on 15 shots, Davis recorded tonights win. Matthew Murray was the starting goaltender for Milwaukee tonight. Making 25 saves on 28 shots, Murray recorded tonight’s loss.
