Barracuda fall to Henderson Knights 4-1

SAN JOSE- On a lucky bounce, Henderson was the first to get on the board. Henderson’s Sloan Satvik got his fourth of the season to lead 1-0. Shorthanded, Henderson extended their lead to 2-0 after Dylan Coghlan scored his 11th of the season.

Avoiding the shutout, Mattias Havelid scored his third of the season. To make it 4-1, Silver Knight Tanner Laczynski scored his 14th of the season. Brandon Hickey, who was coming out of the penalty box, registered the lone assist. To cut the lead in half, Donavan Houle scored his second goal of the season.

After the first period, San Jose outshot Henderson 12-11. After the second period, San Jose outshot Henderson again, this time 11-8. After the third period, Henderson outshot San Jose 12-8. In total, Henderson outshot San Jose 31 to 30.

Both teams went to the penalty box during Saturday night’s game. Henderson, who scored a shorthanded goal, came into Saturday night’s game seventh shorthanded and also seventh on the advantage. They had one opportunties on the powerplay and scored no times. For San Jose, who didn’t score any special teams goals, came into the game fifth shorthanded and first on the advantage. They had four opportunities on the powerplay and scored no times.

For San Jose, Gabriel Carriere was the starting goalie. Making 25 saves on 29 shots, Carriere recorded the loss. For Henderson, Carl Lindom was the starting goalie. Making 27 saves on 28 shots, Lindbom recorded the win.
