SAN JOSE- For the first time in Georgi Romanov’s career, he got the start in back to back games but 32 saves on 37 shots weren’t enough as San Jose falls to Henderson 5-2.

After Danil Guschin got his pocket picked by a Silver Knight in the Barracuda’s zone, Henderson opened up the scoring at 9:20. Calen Addison netted his 2nd goal of the season assisted by Grigori Denisenko and Jakub Brabenec. 3 minutes and 18 seconds later at 12:38, Henderson extended their lead to 2 when Gage Quinney picked up a loose puck, assisting Robert Hägg on his 3rd goal of the season.
Late in the 2nd, San Jose took back to back penalties but Collin Graf snapped a 14 game scoreless drought netting the Barracuda’s 6th shorthanded goal of the season at 6:52.
At 19:58, Dysin Mayo took a 2 minute interference penalty against Scott Sabourin. San Jose will start the 3rd period on the powerplay. Up until now, San Jose are 0 for 2 on the powerplay and 3 for 3 on the penalty kill.
After not scoring in the 2nd, Henderson scored twice in the span of three minutes at 6:07 and 10:55. Braeden Bowman netting his 6th goal of the season and Dysin Mayo netting his 4th to extend their lead back to 2. At 13:31, Danil Guschin cut into their lead to score his 7th goal of the season assisted by Thomas Bordeleau and Jack Thompson.
Mitch McLain netted his 6th goal of the season at 14:39 to extend their lead to 5-2 assisted by Brandon Hickey and Kai Uchacz.

The San Jose Barracuda will be back in action on New Years day traveling to San Diego to take on the Gulls. The last time these two teams faced off was on Saturday December 14th at Pechanga Arena when the Barracuda fell 5-2.
