Friday night the Golden State Warriors took on the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center. The Lakers have lost both of their pre-season games while Golden State has a 2-0 record in the pre-season.

All eyes will be on Jordan Poole who has had some great play offensively and defensively in Golden States first two games. He will be an important part in the regular season for the Warriors. After three years with the team Poole is proving that he can support Steph Curry. He has steadily improved over the years and this year could be a real breakout for him.

After the first quarter the Lakers had taken a 25-21 lead. Curry had twelve points in the quarter, the only starter that had scored in the game so far. Bjelica had 5 points off the bench.

At the half the Warriors led by the score of 59-49. Kent Bazemore had high points for the Lakers with 11. Steph Curry had 20 points and Jordan Poole came away with 14.

The Warriors continued to pour it on leading 81-60 with just under five minutes left in the third quarter. Both Curry and Poole were having a banner game.

After leading by as much as twenty points, the Lakers cut the Warriors lead down to four in the fourth quarter. With under four minutes left in the game the Lakers had cut the Warriors lead to a single point.

The final three minutes was a medley of turnovers, missed shots and everything you don’t want to see in a basketball game. The Warriors pulled it together at the end and won the game by the score of 121-114. Nine bench players scored for Golden State in the final quarter.

Steph Curry finished with 30 points and Jordan Poole with 28. Moody had a great game with 10 points off the bench.

With a 3-0 record in the pre-season next up for the Warriors will be another meeting with the Lakers in Los Angeles Tuesday Oct 12. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30.
