OAKLAND–Well, the first coaching casualty from the Oakland Raiders is now here, and it is no surprise on who the first coach to get his walking papers from the team is.

Ken Norton, who joined the team the same year as Jack Del Rio in 2015 when he was hired away from the Seattle Seahawks to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Raiders was let go by the team and replaced by John Pagano.

“After careful thought, I have made a difficult decision to part ways with Ken Norton, Jr. as defensive coordinator,” coach Jack Del Rio said in a statement. “I have the utmost respect for Ken as a person and as a coach, but I feel that moving John Pagano into the play-calling role will best utilize his wealth of experience. I appreciate Ken’s passion and commitment to the Raiders since coming aboard and wish him the best going forward.”

During the 2017 season, Raiders opponents have completed a league-high 72.3% of their completions. The Raiders are also the first team in modern NFL history (Since 1933), to complete 10 games without an interception, this according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Thru their first ten games of the 2017 season, the Raiders is ranked 26th in the league, as they have allowed 3,670 yard, an average of 367.0 yards per game. During the 2016 season, the Raiders allowed 6,001 yards in 16 games and finished the season ranked 26th in the league, an average of 375.06 yards per game.
