On the Oakland A’s podcast with Jerry Feitelberg:

A’s pitcher Andrew Triggs had a great outing on Wednesday an outing that impressed A’s manger Bob Melvin. Triggs went five strong innings giving up just three hits, two earned runs, and struck out four batters against the Chicago White Sox. Triggs was lifted for A’s reliever Ryan Madson who wound up giving up an RBI double to Melky Cabrera that charged another earned run to Triggs after he left the ball game leaving a runner stranded.

A’s pitcher Sonny Gray has been throwing off the mound under the watchful eye of pitching coach Curt Young and Melvin. Gray who had been suffering from a lat injury strain is still tender but not tender enough to throw 20 pitchers of a distance of 60 feet and 15 pitches at 75 feet last Tuesday. Gray reportedly said he felt good after the tosses and is looking to repeat the same regiment on Thursday afternoon.
