SAN FRANCISCO–During the San Francisco Giants even year magic runs of 2010, 2012 and 2014, they were led out of the bullpen what was known as the “Core Four.”

The four relievers consisted of Jeremy Affeldt, Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez and Sergio Romo, who helped lead the Giants to three World Series championships in seven years.

Affeldt retired after the 2015 season, Casilla took his talents back to the East Bay and the Oakland A’s, Lopez retired just recently and Romo recently signed with the rival Los Angeles Dodgers.

Romo, who was drafted by the Giants in the 28th round in the 2005 Draft, pitched parts of nine seasons for the Giants, going 32-26 with 84 saves, a 2.58 earned run average.

During the 2016 season, Romo missed almost three months due to a flexor strain in his pitching elbow.

Romo ended saving just four games, a 2.64 earned run average in just 40 games and threw a career-low 30.2 innings.

The right-hander signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers.
