On the NHL Podcast with Daniel:

#1 After winning 16 straight games the Columbus Blue Jackets dropped two straight games as the New York Rangers Michael Graber scored a break away goal with 17 seconds left to defeat the CBJs 5-4.

#2 Brian Gionta scored midway in the third period as the host Buffalo Sabers came from behind to beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-3.

#3 Carey Price made 33 saves in the Montreal Canadiens 5-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. For the Habs it was their 13th straight victory over the Leafs.

#4 The Washington Capitals notched another victory this time 1-0 shutout over the Ottawa Senators. The Caps scored early in the first period and that lone goal stood up as no one would find the back end for the rest of the game. Braden Holtby stopped 30 shots in Holtby’s second straight shutout for the Caps.

#5 The San Jose Sharks returned back to old form with a 6-2 victory over the visiting Detroit Red Wings on the 50th Anniversary Night as the Sharks were honoring the Bay Area’s first NHL team the California Golden Seals who reunited at SAP in San Jose. The Sharks wasted no time scoring four goals in the first period getting two from Joe Pavelski.
