On the MLB podcast with Daniel, the death of Miami Marlins start pitcher Jose Fernandez at 24 sent tidal waves of shock through not just Major League Baseball but throughout the sports world. In baseball if you went into the clubhouses of some teams many players felt that the league should have canceled it’s games.
One team that did the Marlins who were scheduled to play the Atlanta Braves on Sunday the team was so distraught that it was the right decision by the Marlins and MLB to cancel their game Sunday. Fernandez died on what was his original scheduled pitching day but his day was moved to Monday to make room for another pitcher. Monday will come but Fernandez will not and with heavy hearts the Florida Marlins will try and play some semblance of baseball. There will be tributes honoring the late pitcher on Monday.
