On the San Francisco Giants podcast with Michael Duca the Giants ace pitcher Madison Bumgarner says that he feels alright even though he had a bout with sore ribs and a sore foot. He says he’s ready to throw on opening day in Milwaukee on Monday night. The Giants renamed their field in Scottsdale “Jimmy Davenport Field” named after the Giants former third baseman and former manager. Davenport who passed away this year was one of the more popular Giant figures from those great teams in the 60s.
Matt Duffy the Giants third baseman is ready to swing the bats and has looked great defensively. Manager Bruce Bochy is expecting Duffy to come through like he did last season with a successful average and great fielding percentage. He might be just good enough if things go as expected to make the NL All-Star team.
