SAN JOSE–People forget that the Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s path to where he’s got to go to. Newton was on that Florida team with Tim Tebow and got a National Championship ring. Then Newton left Florida and went to a division two school and won a National Championship there.

Newton ended up having three National Championships under his belt in college this is a guy whose used to being in front of the podium. It’s just that Carolina is a small market area so we don’t see him as much. It’s not like 49ers fans saying, “we can’t wait for our game with Carolina.”
