After signing Jeff Samardzjia to a long term deal, you would think that the San Francisco Giants would be done signing starting pitchers; however General Manager Bobby Evans was not done with starting pitching.
The Giants went out there, and signed Johnny Cueto, who helped lead the Kansas City Royals to their first World Series Championship in 30 years in 2015 after being acquired by the Royals from the Cincinnati Reds in July of 2015.
Cueto’s deal is for six years for $130 million dollars with a opt out clause after two seasons.
In his career, Cueto is 96-70 with a 3.30 ERA over eight years experience with the Reds and the Royals, and was 4-7 with a 4.76 ERA after being acquired by the Royals for their run to the World Series.
