#1 Stanford Cardinal general manager Andrew Luck said in a statement on Tuesday that there had been significant attention to football coach Troy Taylor and investigations regarding the coaches behavior with female athletic staffers and said that the Stanford program needs a reset.

#2 Stanford arrived at this decision based on multiple investigations and complaints from various Stanford employees and those who identify as women.

#3 The Stanford statement went onto say Taylor reportedly bullied and belittled female athletic staffers and sought to have an NCAA compliance officer removed after she warned him of rules violations and repeatedly made “inappropriate” comments to another about her appearance, according to documents from a pair of investigations obtained by ESPN.

#1 Head coach Troy Taylor has had a rough last two seasons finishing with duplicate records of 3-9. Coach Taylor is hoping to get things turned around with a league and with Ashton Daniels under center.

#2 Stanford enters the 2024 season with it’s worst three year losing record since 1958-1960 can being in the ACC make a difference, bring optimism and a new foundation in the ACC?

#3 Elic Ayomanor is someone that Taylor and Daniels will be relying on. Aymmanor will be looking for some key passes and if Stanford is to win this year’s he’ll be carrying a good amount of passes.

#4 The Cardinal have a lot of holes on both sides of the ball but defense is a major concern. Stanford has been rated with the worse defense in college football coming in and there was not much movement in the portal to fix it in the off season.

#5 The Cardinal opened up against the TCU Horned Frogs Fri Aug 30. The Horned Frogs were below .500 last season and head coach Sonny Dykes says he hoping for a shot to return to the National Championship game where they were in 2022. In 2023 the Horned Frogs struggled finishing two games below .500 at 5-7. Taking both teams 2023 experiences in account do you think this opener Friday could be a tight contest?

#1 Stanford Cardinal head coach Troy Taylor said they need to adapt to the ACC or the Cardinal won’t be relevant. The first game is not until Aug 30th against TCU so that gives them some time to psych themselves up for the change.

#2 At the time of learning about the break up of the Pac 12 a long storied league and how it’s history and what it once was is now gone.

#3 After the breakup of the Pac 12 the ACC was a landing spot for the Cardinal along with Big Game rival the Cal Bears. That was a important part of this change keeping them in the same division.

#4 Coach Taylor said any conference would love to have the Cardinal, that long history, the tradition, playing at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto.

#5 Coach Taylor said that the Cardinal had a successful program ten years ago. Taylor added the Cardinal need to build their program because the Cardinal will be in another position to be realigned again and having a strong program is important to attract other conferences when that time comes.

#1 Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora and the Red Sox are in negotiations for a contract extension that would give him an extra three years at $21.75 million. The Sox as of Tuesday are 54-46 and are one game back of the Kansas City Royals for the final wild card spot.

#2 Michael you cover the Milwaukee Brewers pretty closely and the Brewers have place Christian Yelich on the ten day IL due back inflammation. Yelich is schedule to see a specialist Thursday to figure out what to do next. Yelich’s back had been bothering him in recent weeks. You saw him at the All Star game but after the break is now on the IL.

#3 It’s been said that the New York Yankees Juan Soto and Aaron Judge are the best one two punch since Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. That said the Yankees have struggled and are 10-21 since the start of the season when the Yanks were 50-22.

#4 Turning to the NCAA you probably aren’t surprised that after realignment some schools would not be all too please. In the ACC, Commissioner Jim Phillips said he would fight lawsuits filed by Clemson and Florida State University. The lawsuits are over the schools withdrawal penalty and grant of rights and gets uglier as the NCAA has filed a countersuit. Phillips said the NCAA is fighting for the protection of league and it’s members and that both Clemson and FSU both signed off for the grant of rights.

#5 Tuesday the Cal Bears and Stanford Cardinal made their ACC Media Day appearances. Stanford football head coach Troy Taylor said that the Cardinal need to adapt quickly or they will not be relevant this upcoming season. Taylor as well as the ACC schools are trying to make the adjustment to the realignment and division switches that Taylor said was at first shocking to see such a traditional conference like the Pac 10 just suddenly go away.

Stanford Cardinal newly hired head coach Troy Taylor said during Monday’s press introduction that the Cardinal has a bright future and “We will be champions here. I don’t know when it will happen, but we will be champions here.” Taylor emphasized that the direction of the Cardinal is headed in the right direction despite what some people might say of the football program.

With the NIL deals and college football teams that are just all about offense with student transfer portals things in the NCAA have vastly changed impacting the way things used to be done in college football leaving the Stanford program left behind. The Cardinal attendance.

Taylor is pushing the envelope to make the Cardinal who were once bowl bound and who had many former student athletes graduate to the NFL. Stanford athletic director Bernard Muir said that the Cardinal program will be heavily involved in the NIL and transfer portal.

What was most impressive of what Muir did was hire Taylor over NFL and power 5 schools coaches. At Sacramento State Taylor didn’t have winning records when Taylor joined that program in December 2018 he got them three Big Sky titles and that impressed Muir that Taylor was able to turn the Sacramento State program around and he could do the same with more resources at Stanford.
