San Jose Sharks podcast with Len Shapiro: Will Sharks keep or deal Hertl before NHL deadline?

#1 Len, tough going for the San Jose Sharks (22-21-45) of late they have lost five games in row with tough loses against Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Edmonton and their last game against the Vancouver Canucks (23-21-6) last Thursday.

#2 The Canucks caught a break after allowing a tying goal in the third period and the Sharks thought they could get some daylight after tying the game at the last second. The Canucks however pulled off a win when JT Miller scored at 2:21 in overtime for the 5-4 final.

#3 The Canucks head coach Bob Boudreau was pretty upset to give up the tying goal at the last second in regulation and got the win in overtime. Boudreau said he’d take the two points even though he thought they didn’t deserve it.

#4 The Sharks goalie James Reimer faced 27 shots and five of those went for goals do you see some adjustments needing to be made in net for the Reimer and the Sharks.

#5 Will the Sharks sign center Tomas Hertl or will he be in a different uniform by the trade deadline. Hertl has said he wants to remain in San Jose but will the Sharks be looking for some players for their future?

#1 Up 3-2 with just over three minutes left the San Jose Sharks (18-17-4) picked up two insurance goals in the third period and got a three goal victory over the Los Angeles Kings (15-18-6) at SAP Center in San Jose on Friday night 5-2.

#2 After the Sharks had some inconsistencies before getting on this run what would you attribute to head coach Bob Boughner and the recent turn around of the club?

#3 One of the improved things about the Sharks is the improved play of goaltender Martin Jones on Friday night against the Kings Jones made 32 out of 34 saves to hold the Kings to a three goal loss.

#4 Matt, talk about the Sharks getting goal help from Tomas Hertl, Patrick Marleau, Rudolfs Balcers, and Kevin LaBanc and Dylan Gambrell.

#5 The Kings and Sharks go at it again in their last five meetings the Sharks have won all five games against the Kings and they both meet again tonight at SAP Center for a 7:30p face off tell how you see this upcoming game tonight. Goaltender Devan Dubnyk was traded to the Colorado Avalanche Saturday. Dubnyk was the back up goalie for Jones and most likely will be the back up goalie for Phillip Grubauer.

#1 The San Jose Sharks (13-4-4) after getting out of their last four game losing streak have now lost two of their last four games and head coach Bob Boughner says that the team is just simply not competing.

#2 The Arizona Coyotes (14-14-5) and Sharks in a 2-2 tie in the third period but once again like some the most recent games the Sharks defense opened the flood gates and the Coyotes ended up scoring three goals in the third period.

#3 . Patrick Marleau scored his 564th goal, tying him for 23rd all-time in NHL goal scoring. Friday’s game was also Phil Kessel’s 1100th NHL appearance.

#4 The Sharks made a poor showing in the first period, registering just four shots on goal. Their second period showed some hope, starting with an early short-handed goal from Tomas Hertl, but then came unraveled in the third.

#5 Sharks will try it all over again as they face the Coyotes in game 2 of this two series at Gila River Arena in Glendale tonight at 7:00pm can the Sharks make it a closer game than Friday night’s game?
